Mine too I took mine to the dealership. They said they couldn’t help with the repair have to order a new cluster. I will give this a try. I did have to do reciter on the stereo it fixed it.
This video reminds me of why I kept my old ford running. Very little problems like this over 20 years. 327K miles and still looking and running GREAT!!
Thank you so much for this video. My truck made it 20 years and 148246.0 miles before the odometer quit working. I have the ford shop manuals, but they are no help on this problem. Fords solution when the pin test fails, is to replace the cluster. This saved me hundreds of dollars. I, like some other people commented, had to struggle a little to get the gear position indicator out as my cluster has no tach, but with a little work was able to figure out how it comes out. The whole process took me about an hour to complete and it worked great. Could not have done this without your video. Your clarity in this process made this task not only doable but allowed me to enjoy the process of the repair. Thank you again for taking the time to share your knowledge on this fix.
Wow thanks for this awesome comment Albert. Congrats on your Ford odometer display DIY repair. Feel free to reward yourself with one of our DIY branded shirts in the channel shop. (Forgive the shameless plug!) Thanks again.
A great help. i used a jeweler's loop (because my unaided eye couldn't tell if it was damaged) and several of them looked damaged, so I touched the whole connector up and it works great. Way too hot today to want to dismantle that thing twice. I'm glad it worked on the first go-round. The only extra thing I did based off several other videos/articles was I disconnected the positive battery first so the airbag didn't blow up in my face. I'm sure it's safe enough without that step, but it only took an extra minute. I also removed all the light bulbs because I didn't want to force the clips off to find out I was pulling off the lights, but now I re-watched your video I realize I could have left those in. I wasn't expecting the board to take that much force to slide off but that was probably just 17 years of oxidation build up.
Thanks so much for sharing this information. I have been fixing a few electrical gremlins in my brother-in-law's 2003 F150. Now I can cross the "ghost" odometer reading off of the list as I just fixed it thanks to you :)
This worked like a champ on my 2002 f150! Years ago, the odo display started going out intermittently...and the last few years it's almost always off, but it would come on for a day or so after a really heavy rain. And if it was around inspection time I'd have to race to the shop and try and get the inspection done before it went back out lol. Thanks for the great video man, it was super helpful! Cheers!
Just got around to tackling my display repair after years of putting it off. I have a 2001 Ford F-150 Supercrew. I found the crack on the pin mentioned. Applied fresh solder. It appears I have finally solved the problem of the disappearing odometer!! Thanks for the video.
I have a 2002 F-150 that's had an intermittent issue for years, then it finally quit all together this year. This fix worked as advertised and it only took 1 hour! Thanks for the video!!
Worked perfectly. Took 2 hours to remove and replace and five minutes or less to solder. Both outside pins had cracked solder. I would recommend you pay close attention to how the shift indicator comes out for reassembly. I would also recommend a flex screwdriver for the socket. My problem was intermittent. Worked when cold and then would turn off. I live in Denver, and I was always nervous the odometer wouldn't come on for the emissions test. Thank You Very Much!
I had an odometer that would sometimes work, sometimes not. This was the 3rd RUclips video I watched on this repair, and all showed the same repair. Last night I re-soldered all the pins on that particular connector, and I think it worked! Time will tell.
Thanks for this video. My odo has been going out for a while. I didn't know it was this easy to access, so I took it out. I noticed I had two dry solder joints. The far left pin and the far right pin. Put some fresh solder on those and it works like a charm. While I was in the cluster, I went ahead and cleaned the clear bezel, and 18 years worth of dust trapped inside. Looks brand new and now my odo works. And I've got almost 408,000 miles on my truck!
@@MrKistel Thanks! The water pump finally went out about a year ago and I had to get that replaced. A/C compressor isn’t working - it locked up, so I’ll hopefully be replacing that soon. It was missing pretty bad but I had the coils, spark plugs, and wires replaced and it runs very well now. Haven’t done anything to the supercharger, I’m afraid to mess with it, but it seems to be working well.
Thank you. Very nicely done and it helped a lot. The only thing I needed to get from someplace else is how to disconnect the gear shift display. My odometer was intermittent so I'm hoping this will have fixed the problem for good. I only touched the one solder point that you mention instead of doing them all like another video suggested. I understand doing them all while in there after all the work getting it undone, but I didn't want to touch anything more than I had to, so I went with your one point. Hopefully, I won't have to go in again. The hardest part for me was getting the plugs undone from behind the console. I also scratched my dash trying to get out the light switch panel, but that's partially due to my truck being so old (2002) that I think it just scratched easily - took off the gray overlay/plastic. They don't put much quality into a lot of this plastic stuff. Anyway, thanks, I'm crossing my fingers that this works, but I won't know for a few weeks if it consistently displays.
Hey, shout out to you thank you 9 year old video but it helped took me 40 minutes mileage lights up. Thank you again. Took it to the dealership and they wanted to replace the cluster $500 intermittent, would light up when it wanted to. it’s really getting, to be a pain it was staying off longer now.
Did mine and it worked but I would recommend examining every solder joint in the set with a strong magnifier. I had the typical obvious solder cracks on the outside pins but upon closer examination with a magnifier I could see at least 2 more inside pins were cracked , so I did them all. Over the years I've fixed quite a few relays, modules ,etc. with this problem and every one was on a apliance or device subject to a lot of jostling or vibration so that is definetly a factor I believe. Another thing I would strongly recommend is the use of liquid elec flux as a prep to soldering. It is really important. Put a few drops on a Qtip and wipe the joint, you can solder immediatley and it will reactivate the old solder like magic. It also will require less heat with flux and there will be less chance of lifting a trace.Make sure you do wipe with alcohol when your done to remove any remaining flux from the area.I have poor eyesight so I was nervous because these pins are a lot smaller than you might imagine from the video and I was worried about bridging joints accidently.Got it done thogh and I'm so gratefull for this video and one other which were indispensible so thanks so much for making it!
Hey Joe, Enjoyed your instructions on how to fix the odometer on my 2000 F150. I did this and it worked very well. Now my odometer works great. Was going to cost over 300.00 to get someone to fix this. Guess I will pay myself, haha. Thanks again for the step by steps instructions. William, from Tennessee.

Excellent video including that pesky gear shift cable! The rest was straightforward, but that cable was hard to see without pulling that extra panel. The soldering is the easy part for me since that's what I do for a living. I have a 2002 F150 FX4 late model (after Feb 2002). Thanks!
Thanks bro this video was super thorough and I do appreciate that. Most people skip through screws or bolts and I was able to work along with you the way you did it. Thanks man.
Thank you so much! You are the man! I followed your directions and now my wife thinks I'm a hero! Yeah. Thanks to you. Really appreciate it. It took me exactly 1 hr. After many years of working and not working, now It works constantly! Can't thank you enough. Cheers!
I know this is an older video..however....im an Excavating Contractor...had an Excavator few years ago with a digital display acting up. I took out panel, took apart...just re soldered as many places as I could. It fixed the display panel. I use to do it to my older guitar amps as well.
Great tip to resolder as many connections as you can get to. Many times, it is hard to tell if a specific solder joint has failed so not a bad idea to resolder all the connections.
Thanks so much! This is the only video I found like this. I've to a 2003 Ford F150 XLT Lariet and the odometer indicator lights up intermittently. More OFF than ON as time goes by. I had to go a little deeper; to the indicator with ribbon cable. My problem seems to be in the ribbon cable or connector. I moved everything around until I think I got it working, but only tomorrow will tell. Once I removed it from the board, I took a closeup photo with the Ford part number on the indicator with connector so I can research the availability and price of another if the problem persists. Thanks for your video. It gave me the courage to tackle this project on Labor Day morning.
When you’ve fixed and lit up your what was your mileage on your vehicle? My F150 has been doing this intermittent often on for years mileage is 254,657
I have repaired two of them, one in a Silverado and another in a Ford F150, just by removing the electrical connectors and spraying both male and female sides with a good helping of CRC Electronic Connector Cleaner. There was no need to do soldering. The Silverado took minutes to do and the Ford took an hour. The Silverado was sometimes displaying the odometer intermittently because the prongs were loose. . I took it out again separated a few of the outer prongs to get a good fit. No problems with either of them has occurred again.
Faced my fears and fixed it. I first could not see the crack in the solider so I had to look @ it under a lighted magnifying glass then I soldier it again. Took it outside and tested it and got good results. Ithanku
Got both the multi switch lever and the Odometer display done in 1 sitting. Starting to put it back together and the Trip Set/Reset lever fell out. I don't see how it connects to anything. Do you know if it does and how to get it in right? Is taking over 3 hours I wonder because I'm left handed. Thanks for explaining and showing this clearly.
Great vid,I took off a few less things but did pretty much what you did and now it works perfectly. I would have people look out for that little grey rubber plunger on the end of the Trip button. I plugged in juice before bolting in and the trip -odometer control didn't work. pulled back off and the rubber plunger fell off..
Great video. Thanks a bunch for taking the time to do this. Just one quick question. What watt soldering iron did you use? I will try this fix after I return from a little camping trip.
had the same issue same truck mind was beyond cracked. the pin basically lost all connection. would this cause my read out to be all dashes? I had the problem where I had all dashes and my truck would not start. a light tap or sometimes a hard pound on the dash and a key cycle would get the numbers to reregister and then the truck will start and run fine. I was wondering if you had any information on this?
Do you know where the milage is stored ? is it in the computer somewhere or in the speedometer unit ? I don't want to replace my speedometer with a high milage one. I took it apart today & saw the led had a burn spot on it. I tried to reflow all the connections too. It is on a 06 Freestar. w/o msg display.
Ok man I have a question I have a 2006 ford escape hybrid and when I went to get into my vehicle and found before I even opened the door that my that both lights were still on where the digital reading of my odo and where it shows if it's in park ect....dont know why those lights wont turn off if you can help it would be greatly appreciated
Hi I have a ford transit 2005 model and there is no odometer showing in the dash :/ when we bought the van is had anther external meter (simens VDO) that was connected with the van. It is just like a meter used to pass from border to border and it had the mileage stored in it. Now this meter has stopped working and it is like sealed so I cannot open it. My question still remains why this van does not indicate the original mileage on its dash ? maybe you can help me out please ?
If you do this make sure you have the right tools. Need a 1/4'' socket with an extension, 7mm and 15 torx screwdriver. My light controls definitely did not come out easily, pieces broke. Make sure you tilt your steering wheel down and put the truck in 1st gear. The point you solder is on the flip side of where you unplug the ribbon. My board looked much different, it was confusing at first.
Joe, I have made this repair about three times now, but my solder does not seem to hold. The odometer ends up flickering on and off again. Is there a special process for the soldering or a special solder for this application. Many thanks.
Rosin core solder. It can be tricky. you want to try to make both surfaces hot for the solder to properly adhere but not over heat the board as to melt anything.
Hi, I just purchased a 97 Ford Expedition and the speedometer is not working. It reads 128856, however it did read 124500 on an inspection report just Sept. 2016 so it just stopped working recently. What do you think the cause could be?
This might have worked for my 2005 expedition, however it did not. The instrument cluster is a different model. The back cover doesn't come off without removing the entire face including the thin black cover and needles. The screws are under the face. However, I wanted my husband to attempt it anyhow. He cut a hole in the back to access the green board. We couldn't see any clear damage that we should specifically saw her specifically sautter. So we touched up some points and put it back in to see what would happen. We plugged it back in and some and some things worked and some things didn't work. But some things stayed on even when the car was off which drained the battery. In conclusion, I have a new cluster on the way. And for now it's not plugged in at all so I have no idea how fast I'm going or how much gas I have and other things stopped working also. Cannot roll my windows down.. The automatic door locks do not work. And worst of all! The radio wont-work! Who knew all these things ran through the instrument panel cluster?!?! Lmao ....lesson learned.
@@MrKistel Actually... no The one I ordered said compatible with 2005 or 2006 .... It turns out the one I ordered will not communicate with my truck. From what I found out, people are telling me I need to find the exact make model and year for my truck because they communicate differently.. I am on the lookout for a 2005 eddie bauer cluster.
before you try any thing ...try this trick ....remove the battery terminals for few seconds ,then re connect them ,,,,,this will reset the ECM ,,,it worked for my ford falcon SR3 australia ....all my dashboard instruments were frozen ...took 30 seconds to fix
I just got a display of " T 206.7" on my digital odometer...... what does that mean? I noticed you also got a "T" readout before you pushed the reset. I have a 2000 F150 that has also been blinking on occasion. Any ideas on the code?
Push in the odometer button once to change the readout to truck mileage. T 206.7 is your Trip mileage. if you want to zero out your Trip mileage, press and hold the odometer button.

Did I miss a previous video? How did you know which solder point was the one you needed to redo? My odom has been blank for a long time, now I have other cluster lights that come on. When they do I lose my tac, speedo and water temp gauge. Please see my video and offer your advice. Pretty sure there's a short, but I don't know what solder point may be causing the problem. Thanks
Thanks for watching and sorry to hear of your frustrations with your vehicle's dash display. I am afraid I am not sure what your issue may be. You can visually inspect the board the best you can and see if you notice an obvious short or a solder break somewhere. Please let us know what you the culprit was when you figure it out.
It looks like you soldered the joint on the non-plug side of the board. Other videos showed soldering on the pin or plug-side of the board. Does it make a difference?
One suggestion -- disconnect the ground on your battery to prevent any shorts. I would get a CHILTONs book ( it is a How To handbook ) so you can see what everything is. I have yet to try it yet, nervous about doing the soldering. How difficult is it to take out the clusters and can they get crossed accidentally putting back in ??
It is not too bad if you take your time. It is always a gamble taking things apart but sometimes that is the only option to move forward. Best of luck.
Hello which one do you think I need to sodder if my odometer isn’t showing and the needles all don’t move. All fuses are good and the lights on cluster work just not the odometer and needles
Jason, hard to say but if you take it apart you might be able to see what the issue is. Perhaps a loose connection will be visible. Please advise what you determine is wrong with your Ford odometer.
Hello, my 2010 ford crown Victoria has the same problem and after watching this video I might just fix it by myself, I do have one question though, what kind of soldering wire did you use in that video?
Amigo, en mi caso ya cambié el sensor de velocidad ford f150 2002, pero al encenderla la velocidad se queda en 50 millas fijo, aunque acelere o frene siempre se queda fijo mientras esté energizado.
Does 2007 ford free star van same panel? Thanks Look similar tho, I cannot register with DMV because I dont know how many miles it has. I will try. Thanks
I did this repair, thanks for the step by step, and triggered the anti-theft device on the truck. The Theft light flashes and the truck will not start. Anyone know how to fix this?

hi i have a fiat punto 2006, the full speedometer is working and the place where mileage is displayed has back light but the mielage does not apper. i have changed the speedo however it is the same thing. do you know any thing. Many Thanks
Extremely helpful. Question though. Should I be grounded with some sort of anti-static discharge tether before handling the circuit board? Wouldn't want my 70's throw-back Afro kicking out 20,000 volts of static. (lol)
Great video. Easy to follow and it slowed my odometer issue! I’m having an issue with my tachometer and I was hoping you know which one of the connector on the circuit board are the ones for the tach...?
Hey, great vid. I have a 2002 Nissan Xterra with digital odometer and some of the numbers are blanked out. When I push the screen, they all show but when I let it go, some phase out again. Do you think this is what I need to do? Thanks in advance.
I have this same issue with my odometer and the gauge for the oil pressure seems to be giving out. Any suggestions for that? Thought of just switching out the gauge from another cluster.
I tried hitting all the solder joints I could on my 2008 Taurus SEL and pretty much no change to the LED read out except it went from black to the horizontal orange lines off and on. But I have a completely different looking instrument cluster and LED readout. And none of the original solder looked bad. And there are a lot of items under the LED Module that I can't get to. Might just buy a new lower mileage one off ebay and hope it works for the rest of the time I keep this car. I'm surprised there is no way to read the cars milage except from theses message centers. I asked several mechanic's if their engine analysis units could and most say no. It seems to be totally locked into the instrument cluster. That just seems weird to me.
This worked like a charm on my 2003 f150. Been driving me crazy for years having my odometer come and go intermittently. Thanks a million!

So awesome to hear this was helpful for you Best of luck!
Thank you for this...just did mine finally after years of stressing about it.
Glad it was helpful for ya and congrats on the fix.
When you’ve fixed and lit up your what was your mileage on your vehicle?
My F150 has been doing this intermittent often on for years mileage is 254,657
Thanks for the video.
I have a 99 F150 with an
odometer display issue
for a while.
Thanks, let us know if you are able to repair the display issue
Clear cut video. Very helpful
Great to hear and thanks for watching
I have repaired two of them, one in a Silverado and another in a Ford F150, just by removing the electrical connectors and spraying both male and female sides with a good helping of CRC Electronic Connector Cleaner. There was no need to do soldering. The Silverado took minutes to do and the Ford took an hour. The Silverado was sometimes displaying the odometer intermittently because the prongs were loose. . I took it out again separated a few of the outer prongs to get a good fit. No problems with either of them has occurred again.
interesting tips and glad the issues have been repaired
Thank you very much first video that came up on my feed.
Very cool, let me know how your Ford dash display repair comes out. Thanks.
Faced my fears and fixed it. I first could not see the crack in the solider so I had to look @ it under a lighted magnifying glass then I soldier it again. Took it outside and tested it and got good results. Ithanku
Balls on. Couldnt see the unsoldered wire but did the one you showed. Works great
Awesome to hear you fixed it.
Thank you for the video, I used it to help me fix a friend's odometer for him. Same pin was bad! Luckily soldering comes fairly easy to me!
Awesome. Will attempt this myself. Hoping it also fixes the 'dead' needles for gauges n speedo.
best of luck, let us know how it goes
This was really helpful! Thank god my aviation mainteance school taught me to solder.
So great to hear this Ford F-150 Mileage display repair video was helpful
Great video! I just did this to a pickup today. Thanks for the video!
+Andy Limmer Thanks Andy, glad you found it helpful. Worked like a charm on the truck I repaired in the video.
MrKistel do you know what the second pin is for?
Sir your video is awesome. My odometer is now working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
awesome, nice work Jacob
Great video, very well done and effective.Thank you, Kistel!
Awesome comment, thanks. Great to hear when these videos are appreciated.
Thanks for watching, it has been awhile since i took the dash apart so I can't recall. Hope you get it figured out.
Did anything else not work like fuel gauge tach i did this lost plunger now no gauges work or odometer
Well done for this video but I was wondering maybe there is a fuses need to be replace it before I start up in the dash
Worked like a charm, only thing you didn’t mention was removing shift selection gauge at bottom of cluster otherwise great video. Cheers!
Thanks, I didn't think about mentioning that. This was a manual transmission truck, so I didn't think about the extra steps with an automatic.
took me about 10 minutes after getting the cluster out. super easy to do. next up is replacing the shift indicator and cable.
best of luck
Thank you for this information. It is a great video.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the comment.
Omg I love you!!!!!!! Thank you so much I’m crying because I’m so happy
SO cool to hear the video was helpful to you.
Great video. Thanks a bunch for taking the time to do this. Just one quick question. What watt soldering iron did you use? I will try this fix after I return from a little camping trip.
I did it fallow you instructions, and works perfect....thanks you a lot
Fantastic, glad to hear you were able to fix your Ford Odometer
Thank you for this great video. It took me about an hour but I fixed it.
Glad it helped and congrats on you DIY auto repair.
had the same issue same truck mind was beyond cracked. the pin basically lost all connection. would this cause my read out to be all dashes? I had the problem where I had all dashes and my truck would not start. a light tap or sometimes a hard pound on the dash and a key cycle would get the numbers to reregister and then the truck will start and run fine. I was wondering if you had any information on this?
Thanks so much! Life saver on my ‘03!
Great to hear it helped you fix Ford digital display.
Good fix, worked for me.
Glad it helped
Did mine today. Thanks works perfect
awesome thanks for sharing
thanks for ez to follow video. was able to repair mine. kudos
Hi Joe, Any videos on how to fix driver door lock button, sometimes I can hear it rolling or something and sometimes the key fob won't unlock it?
sorry i do not have that type of video
Do you know where the milage is stored ? is it in the computer somewhere or in the speedometer unit ? I don't want to replace my speedometer with a high milage one. I took it apart today & saw the led had a burn spot on it. I tried to reflow all the connections too. It is on a 06 Freestar. w/o msg display.
it's in the main computer
Joe it worked perfect thanks a bunch!
Great to hear Mark
Thank you very much. Ver helpful indeed. I apprciate the time you took to share this wizardry. :-)
Wow! That's crazy at how simple that was. I wonder how much would a mechanic charge to fix that?
Thanks for the comment, Hope it was helpful
If you do this make sure you have the right tools. Need a 1/4'' socket with an extension, 7mm and 15 torx screwdriver. My light controls definitely did not come out easily, pieces broke. Make sure you tilt your steering wheel down and put the truck in 1st gear. The point you solder is on the flip side of where you unplug the ribbon. My board looked much different, it was confusing at first.
Doug did you check all the soldered connections on that row, or just the one? What did the failed soldered joint look like? tia
Thanks. It worked. Great video!
+Patrick O'Brien Glad to hear it Patrick
Do you have a video for removing the 2003 Expedition instruments cluster?
Thanks a lot for your work
I do not but assume it is a similar procedure. Best of luck.
Hi, I just purchased a 97 Ford Expedition and the speedometer is not working. It reads 128856, however it did read 124500 on an inspection report just Sept. 2016 so it just stopped working recently. What do you think the cause could be?
Did you have e to release the PRND21 part? Another video I watched showed him releasing some clips on it. About ready to do mine.
Best of luck with your dash repair. I showed everything I did to make the repair in the video. Let me know how it turns out. Thanks
O wow thanks for sharing. Did the new cluster remedy the issues?
@@MrKistel Actually... no
The one I ordered said compatible with 2005 or 2006 ....
It turns out the one I ordered will not communicate with my truck.
From what I found out, people are telling me I need to find the exact make model and year for my truck because they communicate differently..
I am on the lookout for a 2005 eddie bauer cluster.
@@kbaldridge01 best of luck and thanks for sharing
before you try any thing ...try this trick ....remove the battery terminals for few seconds ,then re connect them ,,,,,this will reset the ECM ,,,it worked for my ford falcon SR3 australia ....all my dashboard instruments were frozen ...took 30 seconds to fix
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it and Thanks
What happened to the shift indicator cable???
Tony, this was a manual transmission truck. I hope the video was still helpful for you though. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
I just got a display of " T 206.7" on my digital odometer...... what does that mean? I noticed you also got a "T" readout before you pushed the reset. I have a 2000 F150 that has also been blinking on occasion. Any ideas on the code?
Not sure on the dash code you mention regarding the F-150. Please share if you figure it out and thanks.
Push in the odometer button once to change the readout to truck mileage. T 206.7 is your Trip mileage. if you want to zero out your Trip mileage, press and hold the odometer button.

Thanks bro with this info I was able to fix my 1999 Ford f150 speedo.Your the man!!!
+Ammo Junky great stuff to hear, thanks
OOPS! Disregard the above. I watched it again. Hope I didn't confuse anyone.
Thanks, did you have an issue with your odometer in your truck? if so i hope this video helped you repair it.
Thank you Sir!!! I would have never found it. I looked through my camera lens and there was a crack in the solder joint😊
Excellent!
Hello, my 2010 ford crown Victoria has the same problem and after watching this video I might just fix it by myself, I do have one question though, what kind of soldering wire did you use in that video?
rosin core
You ever get the Vics odometer working
Once you repaired it, did it still have the mileage stored and keep up with the one's while broken?
The mileage data was not affected. It was just an issue with the display.
@@MrKistel thanks just got a Expedition and need to fix mine. ✌️
Amigo, en mi caso ya cambié el sensor de velocidad ford f150 2002, pero al encenderla la velocidad se queda en 50 millas fijo, aunque acelere o frene siempre se queda fijo mientras esté energizado.
thanx Joe, it was easy with your video
Thanks for the comment. it is gratifying to hear it help you fix your Ford dash display.
Does 2007 ford free star van same panel? Thanks
Look similar tho, I cannot register with DMV because I dont know how many miles it has. I will try. Thanks
Not sure about the 07 van, best of luck
I did this repair, thanks for the step by step, and triggered the anti-theft device on the truck. The Theft light flashes and the truck will not start. Anyone know how to fix this?
Pugs on your seem a lot easer to take out . Trying pull them out like crazy tried with plyers still no luck.
Darn sorry you are having a frustrating time. Let me know if you figure it out and are able to make the odometer repair.
@@MrKistel I brought circuit board to place yesterday . Lot of hair line cracks so said was fixed 130.00 . I put back in Dave only half the instrument worked left side didn't work . I am wounding if i broke a wire by pulling it out . Clip is broken that u push down on . I got check the power to plug goes into it .. My blinkers not working or brake light now. Hope that all tied into the board also. Ready get rid of truck after all this crap. 2003 Lariat F150 step side. hi i have a fiat punto 2006, the full speedometer is working and the place where mileage is displayed has back light but the mielage does not apper. i have changed the speedo however it is the same thing. do you know any thing.
Many Thanks
Joe thanks a lot this really helped I was able to accomplish the problem.
+will rojas Glad you found it helpful will
I did this but lost plunger for odometer now no gauges work or odometer is this why please help i have 02 ford lightning
Extremely helpful. Question though. Should I be grounded with some sort of anti-static discharge tether before handling the circuit board? Wouldn't want my 70's throw-back Afro kicking out 20,000 volts of static. (lol)
hahah.. might not be a bad idea
disconnect the ground on the battery
Always ground yourself before touching circuit boards
Great video. Easy to follow and it slowed my odometer issue!
I’m having an issue with my tachometer and I was hoping you know which one of the connector on the circuit board are the ones for the tach...?
Hey, great vid. I have a 2002 Nissan Xterra with digital odometer and some of the numbers are blanked out. When I push the screen, they all show but when I let it go, some phase out again. Do you think this is what I need to do? Thanks in advance.
Ty Robinson not sure Ty but it sounds like it could be a connection problem. Best of luck to you.
MrKistel, thanks for the info. I'll check it out. Thanks again.
I have this same issue with my odometer and the gauge for the oil pressure seems to be giving out. Any suggestions for that? Thought of just switching out the gauge from another cluster.
Have ford edge 2007 need to power up the cluster on bench any know what wire need power and gnd and ignition key on wires are
It worked for me! thank you for your video.
Glad it helped
I know this was awhile ago, but, did you ever get your odometer fixed? I have an '08 Taurus Limited and my LED display is completely out.
Thanks for the tutorial. Fixed it!
Scott so cool to hear the video helped fix your Ford odometer display. Thanks for sharing.
Anyone know if the odometer still counts miles if the display doesn't work? Trying to find out if it's just the display or the whole odometer unit.
Yes it does.
It's fixed! Thank you!
glad to hear it, thanks for watching
Thanks for the advice
Robert, thanks for sharing the odometer display fix video was insightful for you.
What will happen if i replace the whole cluster from another car same model will the odometer reading be of the old car?? Or will it not work??
