There's a reason why this game is the crysis of 2020. That poor i5 didn't stand a chance but it tried.

A terrible cheap pre-built and an awfully buggy mess of a game - what could possibly go wrong!?
Haha!! Exactly.
Calling that prebuilt cheap just called me broke :/
Probably a miracle the camera didn't caught fire shooting this just to make the clusterfuck of bad technology perfect.
Blame the company for setting ridiculous dead lines and teasing the game WAY too early..
I thought it was an expensive prebuilt? And is it terrible because it was paired with an RTX or because it’s terrible either way?
Now can we have Electroboom put that Dell Optiplex out of its misery after rescuing the RTX 2060?

Oh my god someone finally has the ASUS Pheonix 2060. I am begging you to do thermal testing! There is so little info on this card, its hands down the cheapest RTX card, and forums everywhere complain of thermal throttling. Is any of this true? Could you test it while you have it? (:
It's pretty toasty for a 2060 but there should be no throttling what so ever if you don't suffocate it with a bad case and give it enough airflow, custom fan curve may also help a bunch. And obviously not the greatest model for overclocking.
If you check the thermals while I did the Epeen i9 test in this video it will give you a best case scenario for temps. :)

Remember when ivybridge i5 CPUs were best bang for the buck when it came to gaming? I just upgraded to a 10700kf from my old 3770 i7. Got a good 8 years out of that old CPU.
As terrible as it may be, the graphics card in that is about 65-70% the entire price of that prebuild right now. Have fun trying to find any RTX card right now that is cheaper/same than a year ago and won’t be potentially discontinued in the next.

3:30 Howdare you call this old, retired i5 as "crappy little"? this CPU was pretty good in his actual times.
What's crappy is that he's running a 3.4ghz cpu that can boost to 3.8ghz, at 3.2ghz and then calling it crappy. My PC came with a i5 3570k overclocked to 4.4ghz and it's single core gaming performance was excellent.
@@stubones Something tells me Dawid thinks "HA! i5! What a wimpy cpu, I have i7!"... which is obviously mistaken logic if you know what you're talking about.
You dont technically have to live with the speed its running at. You can nudge it a bit further by beefing up the cooling solution. Better cooler, delid, drop the temps sub 65 and it could potentially boost closer to 3.5

you can overclock these non k processors if you have the right motherboard. I have one for emulation with a Z77A-G45 board and it can over clock it to 4.3ghz and its the i5-3470 non k
Ultra performance DLSS is made specifically for 8K gaming. With 1080p the AI doesn't have enough informations to reconstruct the image how it should look like. DLSS works the best when you put it in higher resolution I recommend anything 1440p or higher DLSS.

I think you didn’t activated the Boots clock(All Cores 3,4 GHz) in the bios of the i5 3470. So it‘s a Little bit better than you tested it.
The dell BIOS doesn't allow you to turn boost on or off, and if it did the CPU would be throttled because of that crap cooler
Cyberpunk 2077, the bombs in the Fallout Series dropped on October 23, 2077.
the most important setting for a cpu bottleneck is 'crowd density' in the gameplay tab. by turning crowd density to low i was able to hold 30 throughout the game with an i5 4690 and ultra graphical presets. with crowd density set to high, however, i would drop to 20.

Its crazy that people actually buy this stuff without doing research, for the same price I bought a Best Buy prebuilt with a RTX 2070 super, 32 gb ram, i7 9700, 450m pro motherboard, 500gb ssdd, 1tb hdd, and a great mesh case with a ton of fans, and a bunch of RGB goodies, truly a great mid tier gaming rig on a budget. You can easily get a monster gaming rig for $1,000.
I recently bought a Optiplex 7020 with an I7-4790 and threw an old 1050-TI in it and it runs great. For $225 plus tax and shipping it came with 8Gb of RAM, a 250GB SSD, a wireless dongle and Windows 10 Pro. Well after seeing what can sell for a $1000 I think I am in the wrong business.

G'day Dawid,
I wish You, Anna & Neko a Wonderful Christmas 🤶🎅🦌 & that 2021 is a much better year 😁
Chuckles, I'm in danger.
A Computer is always going to have a bottleneck... Especially for a gaming rig, you WANT your GPU to be the bottleneck.... You dont want any of your other hardware holding back your gpu.
I have an I5 3470 on a motherboard on the wall as a decoration
That PC just makes me feel sad. Some person is going to buy it all excitedly for their kid or something like that and they will just have gotten taken by Newegg and whoever sold that thing. I don't know why that irks me so much but it does.
Although technically true, i hate calling the GPU the bottleneck. Because youll ALWAYS want the headroom with your CPU.
Those dell optiplexes with the 3rd gens can be updated from the i5 to the i7 3770 please pair the 2060 with the 3770 that would turn in it into a decent little rig
Surprise, Surprise, you pit a $500 CPU vs a $50 CPU and the $50 one gets creamed.
Unless the board is also a limiting factor; was the electrical tape trick for overclocking non-K SKUs not a viable option either?
Only works on Z series boards, the Dell had the equivalent of a very low end board (non Z series), the VRMs can't handle overclocking, and the BIOS doesn't allow overclocking even with a K sku
Only crysis with RTX on can be the next real test
That gpu looks like 1 of those counterfeit 1080 cards sold on Wish. Lol. 😂😂😂
You should respray the Dell in like a cyberpunk finish to bling it up a bit btw what is the maximum processor its board will support any chance you might upgrade it?
Have you considered recording and uploading in 60fps? Ik there might be issues with lighting on the camera shots but you could lock that to 30 but record gameplay at 60 and upload the video like that. Just a suggestion
I've tried that, mixing clips like that and uploading it in 60 FPS with 30 FPS sections makes the 30 FPS seem fast.
I really expected that old cpu to do better. People always say games don't care much about core count, and clock speed is more important.
That thing had 4 cores and it clocks similarly to a newish ryzen cpu. 75W seems like it would have some weight behind it.
Just goes to show you, that its more to about how much it can accomplish with that power. Better architecture, and smaller process is the defining factor.
If you enable Turbo boost in the BIOS settings you can run games on 3.40Ghz all core and boost up to 3.60Ghz single core. I know that because I have an Optiplex and i5-3470.
@@roymarr6181 OEM Dell Optiplex, Lenovo, Intel DH61 series have Turbo boost. But sometimes if you change CPU i3 -> i5 -> i3 then Turbo boost and/or hyperthread got disabled.
That moment when you bought that same prebuilt to resell it to your cousin after you fixed it up
The i5 doesn't like diving? I'm not sure any hardware configuration likes driving
bro, so many people on eBay, craglists and amazon selling dell optiplexs with a new psu and (the cheapest versions of) rtx graphics cards, at like $1200-Australian. Its so dumb, i mean if u wanted to upgrade a dell optiplex then you should upgrade the ram and sell it at its actual price.
would using core affinity to limit games to x number of cores help gain boost clocks, most intel cpu's run higher speed the less cores in use, but i guess on that note you would probably lose speed as well by taking away cores
im gonna change my name to RTXoff
I've got a 3090 but will not come near this game until the bugs and terrible NPC AI get fixed.
I have a similiar setup:rtx 2060 amd fx 8320e 3.2g (overclocked to 4.2g) 16g ddr 3 1866mhz and ssd. cyberpunk 2077 runs exactly like this, no matter what you do you cant get of them lows. Red dead 2, call of duty, gta v and many others run fine. watchdogs didnt run well. but AC Valhalla ran well. i would upgrade if i could afford it. but that means replacing cpu, motherboard and memory, possibly even psu, this year i can barley afford the rent. but, on the great full side, i paid £250 for rtx 2060 6gb second hand and its carried my system well. and my system was a forgotten about pc that lost its gpu and never got fixed so i got it for £150, so that was £400 about 8months ago, its got me through this 2020. if i was spending £1000 i wouldn't obviously build this. but i am grateful, and cyberpunk is garbage anyway so... good vid, i found it very interesting to watch. i have subcribed
Dawid, I've been curious, how are the temps of that 2060? I was this close to buy a 2060 in November, but then everything got wiped and that ASUS was the only one available, so I went with a Sapphire 5600 XT.
Hey Dawid, what overlay do you use?
Hey! I use MSI afterburner.
@@DawidDoesTechStuff thank you, I thought that’s what it was. I tried using it myself, but the option for overlay didn’t come up. I did see that installing it again might fix the problem.
I got a i5 9600k paired with an 2060 super and they play along nicely. But if something drags me below 60fps it mostly is the poor little cpu. Its almost always running at 90-100%.
Wait a sec... people recommended to ENABLE RTX features to compensate a CPU bottleneck? This doesn't make any sense at all, because, RTX not only increases the work for the GPU to a large margin, it also increases CPU load to some degree. So while most other graphic options like filtering and other effects could help a bit to close the gap (even if the game still wouldn't be more playable), RTX isn't a feature to do that.
My i7 5820K with 64 gigs of DDR4 ram and RTX 2070 Super XC run the game with no issues. I am currently upgrading to a threadripper and 3090 but my old system runs it at full settings and full ray tracing.
Great video as always Dawid
Its really bothering me that the plastic on the gpu hasnt been removed....
The 2060 can go high fps on the higher resolution settings to shoot for 60fps when you turn off ray tracing and when you turn on DLSS quality. You may want to increase the resolution even higher and see how you like it at 30fps-40fps 1440p low, medium, high, ultra and 4K low, medium, high, and ultra. DLSS quality is the only DLSS setting that doesn't look worse than native, but it actually looks a lot better than native and raises the fps. The DLSS 1.0 in 2060 works really good, compared to the new 3000 series of DLSS 2.0, and no AMD graphics cards have DLSS support. It's impressive what 2060 can do with Cyberpunk 2077 compared to how bad you would think it would do.
If you want to get a cheap gaming PC for a good price you may have to wait until 2021. But while they'll release much cheaper graphics cards in 2021 they may not be implemented in the new gaming PCs until 2022. Nvidia will release a very cheap line of highly effective graphics cards in 2021 below 3060 Ti so in the $150 to $300 range. The cheapest at $150 will likely be the same as 1660 Ti, the $300 model the same as 2070 Super. The 2020 prices for cheap gaming PCs is terrible, which could be because they're sold out now I saw some good prices but all the good prices with good specs are sold out it is the Christmas season.
