@@fenixspider5776 Good argument. I never really see the point of all on ones other than they're for people who are really picky. Just looking online, in my country, an amd a12 which is about as good as a g4600 , 8gb, 1tb hdd laptop is $450-500. If you're willing to go second hand, for about $500-600, you can get a dell inspiron 15 7000 gaming laptop, 7th gen i5 and a 1050.
My parents have this exact computer but with the i5 processor instead. When I was installing an SSD for them, I noticed that there was no heatsink for the CPU and the fan inside is on the wrong side of the motherboard. Literally idles at 90°C.
@Polaris Lakewell HP made several models of the same system, touch screen, more RAM, etc. The model I have has an I5 6200U processor, this regularly goes above 90°C, HP has obviously configured the CPU to throttle down at high temps to prevent thermal/stability issues. If you watch the video I linked, you'll see that there is only 1 fan installed in the machine which does nothing but move air around the motherboard. The CPU is on the opposite side against the plastic back with no ventilation.
@@mrmaniac3 I never said it was the exact same system. HP made multiple models in this exact shell, all of which look identical from the outside. I'd be very much surprised if they have a different "cooling system" for the AMD model.

Vengirni great question, no clue HAHA. I guess like any store you offer every option for people’s needs/budget. Coz I’m sure some people would deem it just fine for their needs
@Vengirni lol you obviously haven’t worked in retail. The people that decide what is sold in a retail store are 50-60 year old executives that know nothing about the products they’re selling, and sadly most retail workers in electronics don’t actually know about electronics at all so people still end up buying horrible products
@@Vengir Because people exist that will buy this anyway because they don't want to spend more money for something decent. At least it has plenty of hard disk space so it's not a 'timebomb' like those HP Stream laptops where it's only a matter of time before the only way to get the latest windows update is to just do a clean install because it's got 32GB of flash and you're out of room.
The sad truth is that even basic tasks increase their hardware requirements over time. Maybe not at the same pace as games and other intensive, but they still do. A "typical grandma" might not be aware of that, but her experience would be better if her machine doesn't take 5 minutes to boot.

@@lepidotos Nope, even our neighbours to the east are seriously getting ripped off. Here in NL we can get such insanely cheap packages as "1Gbit up and down for 365 euro a year" on the condition that you pay an entire year up front. Now I am too cheap to do that. I don't really need anything more than 50Mbit up and down, which costs me all of 14,95 a month at a bring-your-own-modem type ISP. Internet access here is stupidly cheap. The rest of the world should kind of take an example in that.
lmao, same I thought it could at least run Minecraft but It ran at like 15 fps.. literally cringing thinking about buying it back then. but I was like pretty young and I didn't know much about computers.
Back around 2005 my mom had an HP laptop (to replace an ancient Windows 98 desktop) that was most definitely a computer. It wasn't what I'd call a powerhouse but that wasn't the point. I eventually inherited it but it got to the point where it had trouble loading the Windows XP desktop properly. I ended up getting a new laptop for my birthday in 2010 with Windows 7. I think my mom had a Vista machine at some point too; the only details I remember well was her having a laptop similar to mine with lousy reliability. I don't remember exactly. I loved that laptop, until I nuked the hard drive in 2014. My mom got a Windows 8 machine in 2013 and loaded it off to me coincidentally around the same time I nuked the drive on my old one, cause she got a tablet and we have at least a couple spare MacBooks laying around. I still have it, much to her surprise.
My dad bought this for me as my sister to use as a school computer when the whole covid thing started. I can safely agree that this pc is the WORST PC IMAGINABLE. It runs so slow and takes forever to start up something and delete programs. Btw, the front-camera quality is like the first android phone camera quality. it’s horrible
I don't know how Austin makes this so bad. Windows 10 probably has something to do with it, but I can run the game slightly better on my Pentium 4 3.0 GHz with Win XP!
I remember that day when I play crisis at 15 FPS with Pentium Dual core,2gb ram, gts9800 512mb win7. on 1366x768 screen and total power of 300W .. now you can get similar this with this PC that is consumes less than 45w.

My parents have this exact computer but with the i5 processor instead.
When I was installing an SSD for them, I noticed that there was no heatsink for the CPU and the fan inside is on the wrong side of the motherboard. Literally idles at 90°C.
I find that incredibly hard to believe, it's a cheap machine but HP isn't that stupid.
@@christopherrobinson387 if it's an i5, then it's not the same system
@@mrmaniac3 I never said it was the exact same system.
HP made multiple models in this exact shell, all of which look identical from the outside.
I'd be very much surprised if they have a different "cooling system" for the AMD model.
In the video you uploaded it looks like there is a heatsink under the fan. Which probably goes to the CPU on the other side of the board.

I work in retail and we avoid selling this like the PLAGUE 😤 even when people are adamant they want it HAHA. It’s such a horribly slow machine
Good on you. But then why do you even offer those?
