LTD Deluxe M-1000 Candy Apple Red Satin Review

Used in video: new 2023 model LTD Deluxe Candy Apple Red Satin guitar. For comparison: 2016 Jackson USA KE-2 guitar with Seymour Duncan Blackout pickups. For bass: Ibanez SR525. I just picked up one of these in a trade. I traded it for an Ibanez RG5320 prestige. Lol i also got an Ibanez Q52 in the trade too. SO Fn worth it! The QC of this LTD is right there with the RG5320 prestige and no Fn joke... i like the playability of this LTD better than the RG5320.

I just got mine in the mail a couple days ago and there’s something I’d like to add.
The brown streaks in the Macassar Ebony don’t bother me as much as the grain in the fretboard does. It isn’t as tight and therefore not as nice and clean as it is in normal ebony. You can visibly see the pores and feel them with your fingers. I know your fingers technically aren’t really supposed to touch the fretboard, (at least that’s what pros say and that’s why there’s scalloped fretboards to ‘reduce drag’), but I have meatier fingers and I feel the wood all the time.
I also have a cheaper new string thru M-1000NT bolt on model I got last month as well in the transparent black that has a beautiful ebony fretboard that seems virtually free of these pores. Also for some reason, the neck is even slimmer in that model than here.
In conclusion however, it just upsets me that I paid more for this one and they cut that corner. My own criticism aside; this is a very well made instrument and definitely something made for professional playing. I’m very happy with mine regardless of the fretboard.

This axe feels like my USA Jacksons. Which is why I love it so much.

How would you compare this to an import jackson soloist? I only play jacksons I have 7 but ive had to return 3 in the last month due to QC. Looking at LTD now reluctantly cause I love Jackson.

I've owned a few Indonesian Jacksons in the last 5 years. A SL2, SL2Q, SL7 (had qc issues with it) and a Monarkh Pro and got rid of them all. This LTD quality hugely surpasses them!

@@paulorageshreds Thank you so much for your input. I went ahead and purchased this exact guitar. It almost looks like Mick Thomson's blood red Jackson USA soloist. I have the white Indo Mick Thomson Jackson and it's awesome looks a lot like the white M-1000 actually. I love the aesthetic of Jackson over LTD but the QC is getting out of control.

@@paulorageshreds on your LTD is the neck binding seamless with the neck. Mine is not you can really feel where the black ends and the red paint begins almost like they are separated. I don't love that.
EDIT: This guitar is sooo good wow. Despite that one flaw this guitar is so well made I can't believe it. It really is better than all my Jacksons that's crazy. It rips with the stock strings in E standard. We'll see how it does in drop C
