Thanks Mr Egg for your honest review :) To explain those random or unfitting highway roads scattered around the maps. it was not allowed to use gravel or normal roads outside of the starting tile. so i had to change them to something similar and the next best fit where the new two lane bus highway networks.
Ah that would make sense!! Thank you for your amazing work bro ❤️ you did an outstanding job with this map pack! Looking forward to starting a new city on one 😌
Just wanted to say I’ve been playing Bay of Rivers and the detailing is so incredible and unique - really appreciate the amount of time and love you poured in to these maps. Thanks for doing them!
I know as a dane we only really got taught about them if we choose certain classes in high school@@jla9285 But I would have thought he knew about them as well, they have the Uffington White Horse in the UK afterall
Honestly I would love to see what you could do with Bay of Rivers. The amount of detailing that just comes with the map plus your unique detailing touch could be really fun to watch!
Love these videos, I always struggle with choosing new maps! I'd really appreciate if you could show the typical 9 tile radius for future map reviews for us console/unmodded players - I've heard this pack produces some strange city layouts without 81 tiles.
My vote is for Land of the Isles. Feels quite different from a lot of your previous cities, interested to see what you'd do with so much water. And you sound really into it.
Great overview of these maps Egg. Love the Nazca Lines reference - must have taken forever for Sidai to copy. These reviews are very helpful and also bring other builders to those of us who might otherwise not know who they are. Thanks Egg.
He 100% set standards for city skylines 2 maps ! (Or next dlc ) Also felt like if next dlc happens itll be ports (as the maps are constantly hinting it )
I appreciate these videos, I’m new to the game and I always have a hard time deciding what map to build on so I watch these videos to help me decide what map will scratch that itch.
Wonderful tier list again, mate! I love that first map, I think your new vanilla series would look great there. Interested to see what the community thinks and of course what map you decide on! Lovely searches as well, I agree that there seems to be some bias against egg shaped maps, like what IS that?? 😍😍😍😍😍❤❤❤❤❤❤🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🍳🍳🍳🍳
Great promotion and presentation of these maps, with all details necessary. All maps have their audience, I am sure. I would vote for you to do Bay of Rivers next!
Been waiting for your review on maps to start another city. I like temperate maps and so far I love bay of rivers! I love the mountain work in all of these maps though. They're so pretty to look at. I think Land of The Isles or Winding River gets my vote for your next vanilla series.
Thanks for the Map rundown 👍For your next build i'd have to vote 'Winding River', so many opportunities for cute little builds, especially now with pedestrian areas. Nice little Japanese pedestrian rice villages.
Just started building a city on River Delta. Amazing map that I highly recommend. Lots of water, outside connections, and beautifully flat land. 10 out of 10 would play again.
Love your videos and you are the first I go to when cities skylines gets new content. Could you possibly also show the starting tile? I think that would be very useful for vanilla players like myself - because even tho the maps have great features, it dosen't matter if you can't reach all of them within the 9 tile limit.
Thank you! Indeed, someone requested that I also show the 9 tile radius which I will do. I had already recorded this by the time I saw it so will definitely Include it in the criteria on the next map tier list 😌
I've started building a new city on the Land of the Isles map and I'm loving it. I love how it has lots of different areas to build a bigger city in the middle and smaller communities on outer portions of the islands; good for a more of a regional build. I think this would be an excellent map for you to do your next let's play series on. Great video Egg! And excellent maps Sidai!
That highway construction detailing on the first map (Bay of Rivers) is amazing, that alone gets it a vote from me. And it's gorgeous overall too 😍 Love the highway billboards and prop detailing in Desert Valley. The crater reminded me of your ore build in 5b1c season 2. But none of the desert maps are comparable to Ilos
I do like the Bay of Rivers map the most. River maps are my absolute favorite type of maps to build on. I might start a city on that one during the holidays. Hilly strait also looks interesting. Reminds me of a fjord. But I can definetly see this one being a challenge with that small amount of buildable space.
1st map with the bus road along the sea bay you can only use highway outside the start 25 tiles. Bus road is as the only one that doesn’t show a disconnected sign
Thanks for the show room of maps. 💪🏿 I'll really like to see you develop Bay of Rivers. Thanks for all your guides and tutorials. My biggest challenge at this moment is to study the terrain before starting building. Also I'm from the Caribbean so it's really hard for me to see trams and monorails in my cities. 🤣😂
I really appreciate all your videos. I find it hard to start a map, like where to go with the main roads. Watching your videos really helps me and I try to copy them so I can get better. The way you explain stuff makes it a lot easier. Thank you. I vote for bay of rivers or land of isles.
To be honest, Sidai is the best mapmaker by far. His creativity and detailing are very impressive. Although there are a lot of deficiency in vanilla game, he tries to do his best. So I am glad to see this DLC with Sidai's amazing maps.
As a console player anything that says 81 tiles unfriendly gets my vote! So much easier with pre defined natural boundaries to make a good looking city, a natural boundary to the city is probably the hardest thing to achieve on many vanilla maps.
The 2nd desert map with the bridge, going into tunnels, coming out for a short bit and tunneling back out into the desert is giving me some serious Earth Bound vibes where you leave the desert going into some tunnels into fourside over a bridge.
Thanks for the overview on the maps, some quite interesting ones there. As far as the next vanilla city goes, I think Winding Rivers would be very interesting, but you mentioned you don't want to do a tropical one again. I'm thinking Land of Isles could be quite interesting to build on, especially since it seems to be more 9-tile-friendly than some of the others and there's a lot of beach building space.
I have watched all your map review videos and enjoyed very much; I wish you made a video with your personal top 10 favourites that includes workshop, map packs and dlc maps. Or have you done that already?
Land of Isles needs to be your next vanilla map. You've done boreal, you've done snow, you've now done dessert and while I don't know the theme of Diamond Coast, it's time you did something with a lot of water on it. Not having a huge buildable space just means this will be a quicker series, which is fine, cause there's only like 100 "stock" maps to choose from now, so you got a LOT to do
It has to be either of the first two must play options for me (Bay of Rivers and Land of the Isles). Whichever one, you should challenge yourself and incorporate all the half finished junctions, walking paths and motorways as well as those weird bus lane islands. I think either of those would be great N00bs guide maps.
Nice map review as usual egg. I'd hafta agree with catka304 and cast my vote for Bay of Rivers. I'm tempted to get the mappack for the map myself as well as support Sidai for all his contributions.
How about a 9 tile max build, using all DLC , I play on console and follow roughly what you build in each time however once we hit 9, I can't go any further which kills me as you build some fantastic areas later on , love your content and would be great to see you do a noob guide on one of these maps.
You should build the next vanilla city on land of the isles. The vibe of the map fits your cities well! The only thing I don’t like about this map pack is the maps don’t feel like places where cities would be built. I put lots of history and lore into my cities, I feel a lot of these maps don’t feel like they have that history. But overall these maps look good!
Thanks for the Tier List. I'm dismayed that I chose the worst map out of these for a new city. However, the lack of variety in the terrain explains why I'm finding myself building the incredible, sprawling, grid city! Time for a new city again.
i personally can't stand it when the map maker already says.. this is where you should build X. ahead of the time or use ground rescources to paint in farm fields. I really just want a wilderness to figure out myself.
Why the hate for the vanilla European map theme? I don't find it any worse than any of the other vanilla themes? You mentioned a few times in this video, is there some tea I've missed??
Make what you will of my previous comment, but the first map I tried to play was River Plains and I kinda agree that it is pretty boring. I like my buildable areas, but I was not getting any inspiration from that one once I filled out the corner. I'm having a good build on Tabletop Mountains, though. Works very well for 9-tiles. That art on the desert map are replicas of the Nazca Lines in Peru. Very cool they’ve been done here!
I noticed that too! Very nice touch indeed.
I like how one of them is the Paradox Interactive logo too - very clever

Those factories on the first map, I already decided I am going to put Unique factories there, and use a harbor next-door
JUST THE FIRST MAP IS WORTH THE ENTIRE DLC PRICE OMG THESE ARE AMAZING

Land of isles, for the nex noob guide :D thanks for the video, the maps are amazing!
I have not been able to pick one to try since they are so well done.
For the next build, I have to vote for either winding river or bay of rivers
Land of the isles is gonna be where my 2nd city is gonna be built. Thanks for rating the map egg, now ik where my city is gonna be built
Definitely Bay of Rivers or Land of Isles please egg!! What a stunning map pack overall though and thank you for rating them for us :)

What map are you choosing for your next vanilla build? I'd quite like to see you try Winding River, looks cool.

Which map would this be?
Oh nice i was just thinking a few minutes ago if this video was up or not lol
New vanilla play through.... HELL YEAH!
Would love to see a Bay of Rivers build!
Hilly Straight has strong Juneau, Alaska (US) vibes. I’d be surprised if it weren’t part of the inspiration for the map.
Land Of The Isles for the next map ☺ I love tropicaal themed maps an this is absoluteley adorable.
I think winding river would be great to see you build on
The Midwest is east of here (Utah and Arizona).
So there’s no color correction/ tint colors on console??
Can you do a tire list for CCPs? Thanks.
Since mountain plains (the map I'm using on console at the moment)is a B-tier what map would you recommend for a console user?
I think a city on Hilly Straits or Bay of Rivers would be cool
The crater is more a meteor crater than a volcano.
It is indeed a representation of the barringer crater in Arizona, USA

I cannot seem to find bay of rivers in steam workshop...
It's not on the workshop mate, it's in Sidais content creator pack

The hilly strait map looks incredibly fun to play on! Would look great with a focused downtown and snaky villages in the hill valleys!
