Hi .... We are loving life here in Mexico. It just continues to get better as the months and years go by (been here 2 years now). Kids are loving it (my youngest daughter had 2 of her local friends spend the night last night and my wife just took them out to a Korean restaurant to eat). Looks like they'll be over another night, lol... Kids are adapting very well. Not so much stress to work and keep ahead like it was in the States. So many things to do and activities to participate and join in and it's all very affordable. You just can't beat the quality of life. It's not so much about the stuff you can get for less, but it's about the overall quality of life one can have living in a place like Mexico. It's awesome. My only regret is not doing this 15-years ago.

You keep your SS. You can have direct deposit in your USA bank and draw out what you need via ATM in Mx or wire to a bank in MX your needed funds. Many ways to make it work safely.

Glad she found somewhere that she loves and that is affordable. I have gone to Mexico many times. I do know there is crime everywhere and not reported the same from country to county. Just be aware of your surroundings. Be adventurous and try new places.
That is so great, and so refreshing to hear that. This lady is enjoying enjoying her retirement. Those are you can get on that float get to mexico And enjoy your retirement financial free period Those of you that feel this is for everyone, it's not because you can't move your entire family to Mexico. There's no jobs for non-hispanic people, so your children, your grandchildren, your niece's nephew's aunt and Uncle's a whom ever you're involved within the states. They won't be able to make a living there. Hard check comes every month as long as she's Breathing. I've had friends talk with me About relocating good at wishing the best. But don't rely on people and other family members. To assist your children, your grandchildren. Your aunt, your Uncle, your parents. Why? You laid up the Mexico period.
Be careful when you’re on SSI. If you are out of the country for 30 consecutive days or more you can lose your SSI. You can confirm this by just googling the topic. The answer comes from the SSA website.
Great video, I am so happy it is working out for you, Cass. I had to laugh when you were talking about the laundry service. And for very little money. Cartess, watching your videos is very enjoyable for me, I have to come visit, I think it is 4 hrs away from Puerto Morelos on the bus, although I think I need to be closer to the beach.
I live in TN and you can't rent anything at all in my area for less than 1000.00 and you'd be lucky if that included water. It definitely wouldn't include anything else. I own my home, well me and the bank own ot, lol, but it's almost paid off. I'm hopeful I could sell it and use those funds to buy something there. I know I'd have to rent something at first though and since money is a big motivator for me 400.0p all inclusive sounds great to me. Another motivator is the weather. Last year Canada got drunk and sent their weather down here. We had temperatures of 0 and less Fahrenheit. Then the electricity went out and stayed out for 3 days. It was awful. The roads were covered in ice so I couldn't go anywhere. My husband (RIP) had a generator but I have no clue how to operate it and no one could come help me so me and my 2 dogs put on layers of clothes and I did the best I could to keep us huddled and coveted up in the bed. I'm use to high Temps with high humidity, but I'll never get used to Canadian weather in TN with no electricity .
We could rent our house out for 3,400.00-3,600.00 a month here in Southern California but I’m so afraid of what might happen to our house. It is in the back of mind because it would pay our mortgage plus a rental for us in MX. What holds me back is I want to buy a house in Merida and make it our own. And have no mortgage.
I really enjoy your videos although Merida is just too hot year round for me to consider. I wish there was someone like you for every city and country I'm interested in. immigrants coming to US are coming to earn more money (the US dollar gets them some much more in Mexico), which is why US citizens are moving into Mexico because they have US dollars and can get soooo much more with their money than they ever would in the States. And in most cases, have a better quality of life here in Mexico than u did in the States. You'd have to come see it to really understand the big picture.
@@MoveAbroadandThrive that really is amazing and I can imagine how the stress of the states, in its current state, can make anyone run for the hills. I’ve definitely thought about it myself for sure. Thank you for responding. If you never have before, you should get into sales bc you’re definitely selling us all on Mexico! Good luck to you & your lovely family. I’ll definitely be joining y’all on your journey by watching along! ☺️
@belltowndaisyI’m glad you are enjoying it! I will visit one day, but logically speaking for myself and my family we just can’t leave. Our parents are at the age they need us around. One day when we aren’t needed as much, we will be able to move anywhere we want. But I am very happy here at the beach in NC so can’t say I’m not already where I want to be. 😊
@@southerngrown Consider taking the whole gang to visit Merida. It's just directly south of New Orleans. Maybe your parents would like the temporary change of scenery.
Thanks.. really enjoyed that lady.. I am headed to the Philippines in November or December but if I was not I would be heading for Merida.. I would like to be that lady's bar buddy for sure🥂.. she has a wonderful laid-back attitude that is relaxing to be around.. you all have a nice group of people down there.. hello from south Louisiana🐊🐊🦞🦞🫕🫕🎸💃🕺🍺🍻😎🤗

Hello I wish you guys would have showed some pictures
Another great and informative video. Thank you!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Man, if you want a 2BR/1BA apartment that is about 1,000 sq. ft. in Berkeley, CA, you're gonna pay $2,800 - $3,300 per month PLUS UTILITIES! No chance of retiring here!
Wow. That is insane.
Good luck on getting your residency. Thank you.
I know her sentiments. I can walk to everything I need or want within my neighborhood in Zapopan (GDL).
Love it!
❤️❤️❤️
Wow! I used to live there! I’ve never seen anyone else mention Zapopan. I love Guadalajara!
Lady you are speaking the truth, I know Kensington Ave very well, and I can say it's horrible, and don't forget Detroit, Oregon, LA NY, Miami, every state in America is worse than Mexico. I love Mexico I will be moving there very soon. Ok family, thanks for the video, Have a blessed weekend.
Wow
Merida in particular is the safest city in all of Mexico and any state in USA. I’m from Merida I live in Oregon in the suburbs but Merida felt better.
@@user-kq6mt7sq6w Do you know how to read 🤔 She mentioned certain states being bad she didn’t say America as a whole country is bad. I live in Lake Oswego, Oregon 10 min drive to Portland downtown and where I live it’s clean, beautiful, little to no crime. In fact, I can leave my Amazon packages outside for days and no one takes anything lolll Also, I’m from Merida I have a luxury apartment in the North Side it’s also in a beautiful private community. I feel safer in Merida than in Oregon. But I’m happy having a home in both places 🙃
@@user-kq6mt7sq6w Moving or living in another country doesn’t mean one loses their citizenship. Millions of US citizens live abroad in other countries for various reasons. For example, many just can’t afford to live a comfortable life and have some dignity in the US on their retirement income. So living elsewhere where their money goes further is a real opportunity for them.
@@user-kq6mt7sq6w I am a child of God so therefore I can live anywhere I choose to live, I am not bounded by America I have choices and you don’t have to worry about me calling you for help, because my help comes from God. Merida has some of the most contempt people in the world! Hard working but family oriented. Merida is having a metamorphosis with companies investing in that area. Meridians are wonderful humans. Enjoy it there!
Great point!
I do not know if I like your channel, you are persuading all of the exceptional citizens of the United State to move to Merida. I am kidding you. This woman you are interviewing is so happy living in Merida. You need to have a show for all the people who moved to Merida because of you. Exceptional show. I live near Prescott, AZ and the rents have doubled here over the last four years and rentals are hard to come by. A one bedroom apartment is $1200 a month plus utilities. I could not live in Merida, too hot and humid for me. I envy all of you that can tolerate the heat and humidity. Thank you so much for all you do for people.
I will be visiting ur thrive website. I looking to relocate next year 😊
Welcome to Mexico!!!!!!!!
🥰🥰🥰
I am coming in March….. I will contact you in December as soon as SSI arrives…Almost all of my things are gone. Only interested in bringing my 1 suitcase.. I goal is 2024
I love it!! Come on through!!!
Make sure you can keep your SSI if you move abroad.
@auntielu4394 you know I have already examined , investigated and even received documentation on which countries ,I can travel and live in with SSI …I won’t jeopardize it. There is Always a way and plan, but I will be in Mexico, that is all I see and will work towards it! 🥰
You keep your SS. You can have direct deposit in your USA bank and draw out what you need via ATM in Mx or wire to a bank in MX your needed funds. Many ways to make it work safely.
@@dianacook6337 correct for SSD, with SSI there may be restrictions from what I’ve read. I’m just saying double check based on which type of SS you’re receiving.
Oakland CA, Unsafe and expensive on social security. Enjoy your content. It's between Puerta Viarta and Merida, but haven't been to Mexico. Hoping to come in April to one of these 2 cities! ❤
Definitely visit both
Omg MS. CASS 💕❤️ !! It’s Torrie😭 this is so cool!!!
Merida sounds so wonderful. I'm working on getting the money to move to Mexico, but it's hard when I have to pay so much for rent and utilities. I've started selling and giving away everything I own. I'm determined that next year, I'll be in Mexico.
Keep working your plan and it'll work out.
I was a vanlife nomad too before I moved to Mexico. Love it here too.
Really enjoyed this video! GOALS!!!
Glad she found somewhere that she loves and that is affordable. I have gone to Mexico many times. I do know there is crime everywhere and not reported the same from country to county. Just be aware of your surroundings. Be adventurous and try new places.
I've found my people❤
This is awesome Cass.
thanks for watching
I’m so happy for you!! I can’t wait until that’s me.
I felt the same way when I was living in Merida , at ease 😊
😊😊😊
Where’d you go to now
I’m disabled and have ssi, I hope my family can experience life there.
There is a way. It will require some creative thinking, goal setting and planning, but it can happen.
Be careful when you’re on SSI. If you are out of the country for 30 consecutive days or more you can lose your SSI. You can confirm this by just googling the topic. The answer comes from the SSA website.
Would your mind giving us a tour of your home
I would love to hang out with her. I am here in Merida in Gran Santa Fe.
Unfortunately SS of $1800 USD per month isn't enough to qualify for temporary residency visa requirements anymore.
If you are able to, see if you can find a job online or remotely to supplement your SS to meet the visa income requirements.
True. But rules are constantly changing. If you have a big chunk of cash sitting in savings/ira, you may can qualify that way.
@@MoveAbroadandThrive that is what me and my husband did, glad we were able to do so
Check with some of the Mexico relocation attorneys. One reported if you own a U.S. home, that will also help you qualify.
Great video! I would love to spend 3 mos/yr in Mexico.
Great interview!
Great video, I am so happy it is working out for you, Cass. I had to laugh when you were talking about the laundry service. I have been vacationing in Puerto Morelos for many years and when I first got my laundry done it was like a miracle. You take a pile of dirty clothes and get back a nice warm package. And for very little money. Cartess, watching your videos is very enjoyable for me, I have to come visit, I think it is 4 hrs away from Puerto Morelos on the bus, although I think I need to be closer to the beach.
Thank u for watching :)
Hi. I'm new to this channel. Not sure where you're located. I love her story
Thank you
I live in TN and you can't rent anything at all in my area for less than 1000.00 and you'd be lucky if that included water.
Quality of Life🥰🥰
It's definitely more expensive in L.A ..$2,000 for a studio
Wow!!!

I think I'll just tourist hop for awhile or perpetually. I'm currently retired and living in my 5rh wheel to make ends meet Like your guest I would enjoy being able to afford eating out and going to the salon. Best wishes.
Tourist hopping can be fun too..
what about healthcare there?
Question….why are the immigrants coming from Mexico to America to live and people from the states moving to Mexico?
immigrants coming to US are coming to earn more money (the US dollar gets them some much more in Mexico), which is why US citizens are moving into Mexico because they have US dollars and can get soooo much more with their money than they ever would in the States. And in most cases, have a better quality of life here in Mexico than u did in the States. You'd have to come see it to really understand the big picture. Last estimates showed 25,000 Americans moving into Mexico each MONTH.
$2,000 a month here in Oakland will maybe get you a studio apartment…maybe.
wow
Please AA visit the Africa. It has opportunities for blacks too and you won’t have to worry about racism like in the US. God bless this lovely lady. So happy for her finding happiness there.
Because she went into Mexico prior to 2022, she got in on regularization without high income requirements that are in place now.She would have to show a monthly income of $3200 a mo.
$400 utilities included? Yes please!
I'm interested in knowing more about living a better life on SSDI
Me too. Interesting.
Me too.
Im headed there on SSDI 1600 a month. It’s quite easy. I’ve visited 35 days.
Is Internet or something like DirectTV availability???
Where is nearest airport??
Yes. High speed internet (fiber optics) for 1/2 the price u pay in the States. Closest airport bout 30 minutes away. Airport code: MID
Well it is places in the USA you could live comfortable like Iowa, or Milwaukee it cold but you live good. And have money left over.

This is wonderful. I'm receiving Social Security Retirement and would like to know if her Medicare part A & B will cover her there in Mexico? I'm very interested in getting additional information. Thank you for this discussion.
If you have serious illness stay in America. However, you can travel back home to get physical and medications. Medicare does not work overseas.
I love this!
I followed her on RUclips!

When they say that a place is bad for American just know that they are not talking about black people
Please stop speaking of the low prices!! this is giving them ideas to hike up the prices 😮
Cartress, do you do phone consultations. I need to speak with you ASAP Re moving my mother there. Thank you

What a about the taxes ?
From a single person, i have concerns on moving abroad, saving and living modestly, getting hit at the end of the year with taxes from the U.S
There's no special tax fir Americans living abroad 😂 all you have to do is Google this information or ask a tax preparer CPA. Catastrophic thinking
@pearlperlitavenegas2023 a relative of mine, had to pay social security taxes. She lived in the U.S. at one point of her life, moved to Trinidad, collected ss and pension, and had to pay taxes at the end of the year. Where did you get your information from?
@@novathewomanking9675 She didn't pay taxes because she lived in Trinidad she paid taxes because of 🇺🇸 her income & tax code reasons (I'm not her CPA). Leaving the 🇺🇸 doesn't = you don't pay 🇺🇸 taxes, that would be awesome!!!However there's no special tax for🇺🇸 living abroad justbecause. US Citizens have to report worldwide income & file 🇺🇸taxes regardless of where they live, they might owe taxes or not depends on their income

I know that you can keep your SSD if you leave the states because it’s based on your work history, but for SSI make sure you check with your state’s social security office to confirm if you can keep receiving SSI if you move abroad with no home base or address in the states. ❤
Great info. Thanks for sharing
As long as you it deposited in a u.s bank account, there's is no double checking from ssa, as long as it has being deposited into a US based banking institution!!
