Sharing all things Cunk - a fictional character from Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe, Cunk on Britain, Cunk on Shakespeare and Cunk on Earth - Portrayed by the incredible Diane Morgan.
I still can't believe that Dr. Ruth Adams laughed at all the people that would have died had they seen Elvis's private parts. Not even Sean would do that
My mate Paul was dating a girl and one day she saw a tape with Elvis's privavate parts. May she rest in peace.
Isn’t she laughing because she realized “have a stroke” could also mean “give it a stroke” She starts to answer seriously, and breaks up when she catches the double meaning
The best part about that scene is you can hear someone on the crew laughing in the background too.
The best part is when she castigates herself for laughing.
*shakes her head seriously*
@@lilbandaryes that is the joke
'It is no laughing matter! We are talking about people's lives'---I would have laughed harder, but Dr. A amazingly straightened up.
That was mean of Philomena. It bordered on bullying. 😬
@@ThomasCorfieldShe was keeping in character. She didn't associate the stroke comment as being amusing.
It's called acting.
Nope, it's called being mean.@@ekkythump3706
I think we can agree that, with that final clip, Philomena officially won.
Her logic is unassailable.
Dr Adams is strong to be on her show so many times and only break once
Dr Ruth Adams seems like a wholesome person ❤
She’s brilliant.
The way she seriously shakes her head when told it is no laughing matter, is the funniest part of this piece.
@@Argeaux2 lol, true.
Lol her genuine two second delay for getting the double entendre is so endearing!
I didn’t get it until I read it in the comments. 😖
@@HereForTheCatContent Same. 😂
Great contrast and interplay. I remember as a child learning language making the same naive assumptions Philomena makes, such as the Sewers Canal.
I remember thinking that pay-per-view was "paper view", the Pulitzer prize was the "pull-it surprise", and the Gulf war was about golf.
I honestly thought that's how films worked actually! Just thought it was a bunch of actors trapped inside the VHS!
Dr Ruth Adams deserves some sort of award for not cracking for at least some period of time.
I did a spit take at the mention of Mario 64
She's a woman of culture
This woman is a bloody genius!
Does Diane Morgan think up these questions on her own? Some of them are so incredibly off-the-wall! If she thinks them up herself, what an amazing imagination she must have!
I think Charlie Brooker is the writer. Just a guess.
She's given the first round of questions already written to start off but the follow up questions are her improv
They have writers and creators, but she'd be doing loads of improv.
What Philomena is describing as the men's miniskirt came later. It was in the 80's, and they were a unisex item called dolphin shorts.
Can we appreciate more the most cool jacket yall have ever seen
With all these questions, I actually learn a lot of things I didn’t know 😂
her jacket's amazing
"Was there ever a mini skirt for men, one that stopped just below the balls?"
I love that Philomena thinks historical footage is like those trading cards in Harry Potter where the person is actually just hanging out there. 😂
The final is epic ! This is so insanely funny :)
She held out a long time, good show! I could try all day, I don’t think I’d get through one question without laughing. 🤣🤣🤣
> So he appropriated dead people's lifestyles now
Right now that includes me 😂😂😂
The part about minis - well, men DID wear skirts in the past. Maybe it IS actually more practical that we go back to those times?
😂i watched several times and lol every time 😂
I think Cunk was on a special kind of sauce for Adams' interviews. She was really pushing all the buttons in this one 🤣
how fun it would be trying to explain the phrase "like a pervert on a zoom call" to someone in the 1950s
There WAS a pair of trousers that stopped at the balls, but in the eighties. They were called "shorts" and it IS a shame they haven't returned yet.
Were
Poor Dr. Ruth 😂
I admire these real professors with no acting training. I couldn't possibly play straight man to Diane. It would just be her asking questions and me busting a gut laughing.
"For whom?? just SENT me lmao
This lady is hilarious
For who?
Brilliant question.
For me tts when Dr. Ruth says "For whom?"🤣
I think dr Adams realised that she looked drab in her first appearance. She dramatically changed her look in the later clips
0:43 "That person has now Left.."
Holy mother of christ, I'm having a fever and it hurts!
Decorum for so long under duress...then "they'd have a stroke" broke her! Gotta say - it would have done the same to almost everyone. Philomena...brilliant! Dianne...unbelievable! lmfao!
I do so admire Dr. Adams' patience.
Philomena must have an SAS protection and secret service one when in the US.
Bless’em both. I imagine Dr. Adams needed a stiff drink after these.😂
I've been telling people for years that Happy Days is real.
Now I have Dr. Ruth Adams to back me on this.
some of Philomena's best. She's so good.
Tennis for Two , a video game invented in 1958
You are a legend ❤❤❤
thanks! you too!
You're welcome!
Thank you Marco, it means a lot to me!
Wtf is going on who are you guys
Thank you, this made my day!
There’s no way that first part could’ve been done in one take. 😂😂😂
Amazing!
Cheers 🇨🇦

i wonder how much practice it took to say lines like that with a straight face
Dr. Ruth Adams is very attractive
I am sure you will find the man of your dreams one day

I agree. Quirky, warm, smart.
Yup. They were right! Hearing too much of PC makes it stale. And... makes it "thin". Can almost see through it. Still, respect for Diane. Even when the going gets tough, she stays in character, almost flawlessly. And.... great respect for this leearned lady! She's the perfect (undisturbed, just a bit puzzled at most) counterbalance for PC. Hats off to you, professor.
Lol😂😂😂😂😂
I relate to dead people appropriation.
😂😂😂
😅
i do want a mini skirt for men, i want air and freedom
Go Easy on Elvis Philomena.
No Doubt Elvis was Influenced by USA Culture which Of Course Including African Americans, Spanish Americans Etc.
Great Stuff.
Here we go..
what is not mentioned is how African American music was previously influenced by French / British folk, military music , bluegrass from places like Lousiana, the Appalachian's
