- On Monday the 2cnd of October I opted to go back home via Leeds having had to be in Birmingham early that morning.
Despite the prospect of seeing Qatar A320s at Birmingham Airport operate Monarch repatriation flights on behalf of the CAA, I decided that Leeds with a strong crosswind forecast offered the opportunity to see some classic 737s and 757s in action was too good an opportunity to miss.
The day was filled with go-arounds

The cross wind landings and go-arounds make this one of your best compilations, so far. Liked a lot!

Thanks mate, same here I was chuffed to get them.
Brilliant video, love the go arounds, you've inspired me to do some approaches to this airport in my simulator! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for your comment. I hope you enjoyed doing that on the simulator.

Incredible stuff!

I nearly crashed here in 2008. Was on a holiday in Portugal with my parents (RIP Dad, I'm 25 now) and on the return flight, we entered our hometown's (LDS) famous crosswinds. Unknown to us our pilot was a first-time passenger pilot being co-piloted by a veteran of course... we found this out later via an air hostess' friend. (the landing got some gossip) anyway... just as the flair of the landing was executed (I had a window seat on the left of the plane so it looked like the pilot was on the centre line and applying sufficient rudder adjustments) the crosswinds were so strong and unpredictable we rolled to the left and the wing nearly smacked the concrete.... the whole plane's passengers gasped, women screamed and 1 woman shouted were all going to die I distinctly remember... but we hit the ground wheels rolling and got to a safe holt. the scariest plane experience I've ever had and I LOVE flying and aviation. just my two cents, why build an airport there!! haha
Leeds is a great airport. Thanks for watching.
It's the old A V Roe factory and the runway was built to fly off the bombers after they were made. Why they then turned it into an airport is beyond me!
Fabulous video matey! Cracking windy landings! Liked for sure
Thanks mate. It was a great day for them. Cheers.
Fantastic selection of go arounds! Will have to get to LBA on a windy day!
Absolutely, its well worth it mate. Thanks very much for watching.

Landed there today. Seemed ok, but bumpy through the clouds
Nice one, it can be fun when the weather is bad.
Superb captures Jonathan.
Cheers mate
Airplane crosswinds are tricky hard last week and learn together and last day start work
They are fun to watch
Excellent Jonathan...did you just plan to go to this airport knowing how bad the winds were going to be in West Yorkshire? Is this video not on Leeds and Bradfords local news website yet?.
Many thanks mate. I was in Doncaster over the weekend and had to pick up a gearbox for the car early Mon morn from Birmingham. So on the way back I planned to stop off at LBA know how strong the wind would be.
I dont think so haha.
Jet2 know how it's done
Here here. Not 1 go around from them all day. #Pros
How are you tapping into the Air Traffic Control Tower?
You can listen to atc using an airband scanner.
@@JonathanWinton123 oh boy, can you imagine someone being able to listen to you at work? That would creep me out. 😁
I remember I was flying back on United one time and you could hear the pilots talking to the air traffic controllers through one of their radio stations on the headset
Is EI-FZH there?
FZR and FZK
