      Very true. This call proves what Dave Ramsey always talks about is correct. ALL debt has stress attached to it. So even 15K in cc debt can stress out someone who makes 70K a year. No matter how strong the chains are, you are still a slave and it affects you mentally and physically when you have debt.

    It's sad how difficult things have become in the present generation. I was wondering how to utilise some money I had. I used some of it for e-commerce business, but that sank. I'm thinking of how to use what's left to invest, but I don't really know which way to go.

    • @MarcyLoccy
      @MarcyLoccy Месяц назад

      I understand how you feel. It's a little bit difficult to navigate things these days. You don't wanna lose whatever is left. I may suggest that you find a financial advisor who could give you thorough advice on how to go if you want to go the investment route. Also, the fact your business failed doesn't mean you should give up.

    • @belobelonce35

      That's right. I have tried many failed businesses and it's just a step further. Don't despair. But to add, if you do decide to use a financial advisor, it's best you use someone who understands your special needs and can work with you. I learnt this from experience before finally finding one I can stick with. Now I make six figures from my investments alone, and even more from my businesses.

    The whole real estate field is full of crooks. They will never fully disclose all the info regarding mortgages. Many lenders don't ever mention yearly home assesments or additional taxes...and before anyone says "you should have done your research, you should have asked questions" you can't ask what you don't know! I'd like to use that same logic when you go to the doctor and are expected to know everything too.

That's what they did with me. Actually I have never heard Dave talk about Credit Consumer counselors and just realized that. Although it was a long time ago I had around 4000 in credit card debt , went to their agency and they had all my interest stopped and charged me 171 for 2 years and my debt was gone. I don't know if they still do that but it was like 20 years ago. With $2100/mo. in house payments, and only making $6k/mo in total income, it's clear they overbought on the house. Should anything happen to either one of them (injury, job loss, etc.) their house will be foreclosed in short order. Married working people should buy a home based on the higher of their two incomes, not the combination of the two incomes. That way, they're not left high-and-dry if something happens.

    I live in Texas and I currently have a 10yr old injunction against me for around $7000 on a truck that was repossessed and auctioned off.
    It just sits on my credit report. I had always heard that it's supposed to fall off after 7yrs, which is true for most items on your report. But injunctions ruled in favor of the lender will roll over indefinitely.
    But like Dave said they are stuck because they can't garnish your wages to cover the debt. That's why they sell your debt off to independent collection agencies.

    $1,250 a month for a year will wipe that debt away - with a $6,000 a month income, a not so terrible house payment (for a couple), and one car payment, I feel like (even with a bunch of kids) this is reasonable if they buckle down

    All debt is stressful and makes you feel ill. This is what creditors want you to think. They want you to feel like a victim. I’d never use another credit card in my life and I’m glad don’t.
