@Green Mamba Games I completely agree. Plus using the same USB-C for charging, connecting monitor and mouse is somehow confusing. Speaking about XPS it only has 2xUSB-C which means you can connect power supply and display and left without space for mouse/keyboard or anything else. That enforce users to use dongles which are crap looking and not always functioning correctly. Plus cost of the proper USB-C Thunderbolt dongle is significant.

I bought XPS 15 at Best Buy this weekend. Really good price -$300 off. First one had distorted, crackling speakers, exchanged for 2nd one - keys 7 and 8 on the keyboard were not responding to presses out of the box. Exchanged again - crackling speakers and flickering display. You just can't make this up! Absolutely horrible QC for a $2000 laptop!!!
The Macbook Pro is excellent. It is a solid work machine. But it can't game well and that is the main reason why i bought a legion 5 pro. I use my legion 5 pro to learn coding, watch shows and especially game on it .
I own the Asus rog strix G15 AE, the 2020 model had the corruptions due to the liquid metal leaking onto the tiny caps on the cpu/ gpu ( fault of asus they didn't have a silicone barrier ) the 2021 model does have the barrier and this is no longer an issue. Random restarts is linked to armory create and old drivers. I found that downloading the chipset and graphics driver from AMD's website addressed the issue while the drivers hosted on Asus's official support page brought on the issue. From my findings it is brought on by software side hardware protection, it is detecting low power mode as a fault and reboots the machine. This reboot only occurs on desktop when the 6800m is not in use ( using external monitor ). The other issue is Asus did not engineer their vapor chamber heatsink to well and do some deep QC testing of it. I found it to have inadequate mounting pressure on both the cpu and gpu. This veries between units mind you, some are fine, others can be ok to wtf. Mine is in between, I found that using m2 nylon washers on the screws to add tension fixed the problem. For me I had to double the m2's on each screw for the cpu and only use 1 m2 for each gpu mounting screw. On manual tuning mode CPU only @ 100w and combined @190w with fan curve 100% at 90c in 3Dmark the cpu will hit 89c unlike before it thermal throttled at 95c. The other problem is Asus did not and will not provide a ram compatibility list, I have tried contacting them multiple times to see if one has been made and each time was a no. I even asked support what the lowest CL is supported and got no answer. I had to throw ram model numbers at them for them to say yes or no. Asus you suck just like the days when you where a OEM for HP back when Pentium II's where all the rage.
Dude could you please tell me in detail how you managed to get past the random reboots because I downloaded my drivers from AMD's website and I am not even connected to an external monitor but I am getting a random reboot at least once a day or 2. So if you could please help me I would be grateful.🥺
I got the one with GTX1650 Max Q and no eGPU. And I’m interested but really not sure if I should spend about the price of another ROG Flow for an RTX 3070 XG Mobile eGPU.
I’ve got the 5900HS and 3050Ti one, the only complaint I have about is the 4gb vram, other than that it’s literally perfect for my use case because I need the write on for school
I have the ASUS G15 with RTX 3070 and it's excellent. The performance is great and the display is 1440P at 165 Hz refresh rate and it's color accurate.
Not sure who's still here but finding the best laptops from a year or two ago and getting them used/refurbished (warranty as well) off ebay or wherever can save you massive amounts of money and you're still getting a very capable and powerful device.
I would love if HC took a look at a Framework laptop... Can't buy it where I am, but that glorious day that I will be able to, I'd be happy to know what HC thinks :)
What do you think of the newest version of the Razer Book 13 as an alternative for the XPS13? I’ve heard the keyboard is now much better and BSOD issues have gotten better too. It comes with more ports and I feel like the vapor chamber on that laptop makes it perform better than an XPS13 with the same specs. Also, the webcam on the RB13 seems to be A LOT better than that of the XPS13
@@HardwareCanucks Keyboards are a matter of personal taste (except for the butterfly keyboard, that was a trash keyboard, especially for reliability); you'll generally get used to it the more you use it.
Me too. Dave2D really had one of the worst gaming laptop reviews this year; I mean, the Legion 5 Pro was an amazing laptop for the price; to bring aesthetics in to a laptop tier list when that's not the main focus of it is honestly showing his bias. And as a former viewer of his channel, he really hasn't been as good this year as previous years. Not to mention, Jarrod's Tech, this channel, and Lisa from MobileTechReview are honestly killing it in terms of uploads.
@@cameronbosch1213 yeah Dave2D has also lost his interest in me, like when he said tuf dash f15 white was the best in aesthetics not bcos of design or any lighting but just that it suited his color preference . He said multiple times that the review was a subjective one, but that sends a wrong message among his viewers in buying the wrong laptop.
Late to the party but I'm really happy with my Gigabyte G5, $1200 normally and constantly on sale for 1100 or lower gets an i5 10500h (6/12) and a 125w rtx 3060 with 16gb memory and 1080p 144hz, and the biggest reason I got it was its additional m.2 and 2.5in storage bay for upgradeable storage. I got it on cyber Monday for 950 after rebate and so far have loved it.
I bought the Dell Inspiron 16 Plus and I have to say Dell needs to focus on quality check. After a month of use, I'm facing display burn-in issue and the trackpad behaves erratic most of the time. Curious to know if its just me or anyone else out there facing the same issue!
My display is still great, but the trackpad issues are extremely widespread, to the point where they shouldn't be selling it. So many posts and comments on Reddit, Dell's website, and even the comments section of the Hardware Canucks review. It's a shame, because it's a beautiful laptop otherwise.
Nice video but you should consider rechecking if the new models of laptops have removed issues or not. The G15 Advantage edition starting with M7 and beyond are fully fixed. They have 0 issues now.
Hi Eber 😎👋 great 2021 round up review. As a recent buyer of the “Dell G15 Ryzen Edition” here in Australia 🇦🇺 I am stoked with my purchase. Featuring the Ryzen 5600H cpu, 8gb (2x4GB), 512 GB NVME, RTX3050 w/ ~$55USD gift card which I put towards 16GB (2x8GB) ram and 120Hz monitor (for home use and gaming it’s excellent for me) and scored it on Dell eBay store sale for $580USD ($645USD w/ taxes)! It also features a 2nd NVME port which I got a Crucial 1TB on another sweet deal (~$55USD) for and have plenty of portable gaming. There are still some great deals out there. You have to look and be a little lucky 🍀. Sooo amazing for the money! 🤩🤩
@Green Mamba Games but that’s not true at all lol. The 3050 ti is more powerful than the 3050 and not the other way around. Also, the Swift X has a 5800u and not a 5600u. Also, it’s not a gaming laptop but rather a ultra book that has the perfect parts for performance and battery life
Hello, I had bought the Inspiron 16 Plus (i7-11800h, 3060, 1tb storage), and I have had a love-annoyance relationship with it. On the one hand, it is very well powered, and the screen is fantastic (albeit only 300 nits). On the other, I have noticed some issues that have been quite annoying, namely with cooling and trackpad issues. If you have any sort of pressure to the left of the trackpad on the laptop, it is extremely difficult to press the trackpad to select something, which is very annoying when I am doing work in several classes. The other issue, with cooling, is there as well. If you are using this laptop for any sort of extended amount of time, the keyboard heats up, and becomes uncomfortably hot to use. Overall, I think there are better options out there, but for the money it is an alright pick
I got the Inspiron 16 plus, and have read loads and loads of people have had issues with the trackpad. Mine is pretty much unusable at this point and I'm still waiting to hear from them if a return and refund is possible. It's a shame, because that screen is gorgeous and the performance is top notch
I got ASUS TUF A14 late 2021 FA506QR I got it at 1349 euros with a 3070 95TDP + 15 Boost and 16 Ram Dual and Ryzen 7 / Vega Graphics. Its a hell of a beast for the price.
In your opinion, what 13" or 14" Windows laptop is a great choice for a pro photographer? (i don't want a touch screen, i rather AMD over Intel and please not a dell.) Thank you so much!
I remember my ZenBook 14 with a Ryzen 4500u (and discrete MX350) Nvidia GPU, which makes it viable for some gaming) had endless freezing and crashing issues for the first 6 months I owned it. Best Buy refused to take it back. I got it on a great sale for $550 in mid-2020. Turns out it was literally just a driver/hardware compatibility issue and the only option was to wait for Asus to release updates to address it. But, yeah, for the first 5-ish months of ownership of the laptop, it was basically unusable. One day, after a certain update, it just started working. It even works as a decent gaming PC if I run the games at medium-low settings. Thankfully, after the fix, I now use it as my daily driver workhorse laptop/desktop. They REALLY need to not release these things until they actually work properly, though. If any of these new ones have similar issues, God help you. There's no real options but to either return it (if you even can) or wait until they resolve the issue through updates.
Razer Blade 15 or Legion 5 rtx 3060 Or Flow x13 rtx 3050? Flow x13 stylus feature(don't have to carry notebook📚 and being the only 2 in 1 gaming laptop attracted me to it...

Im watching this for the future, I'm currently running everything on my potato laptop and I wish to have new one in the future because each day I'm worried this laptop will just completely break down ( yes it's that bad) Over here laptops are really pricey (in my eyes at least) I've had my eye on 3 laptops after watching many youtubers like Jarrod, toasty brothers and many others and now I've stumbled onto you and I must say you really gave a great explanation and impressions Once again I keep telling myself that if I do get my new laptop in the future I'd pick the legion 5. The only reason why I'm not picking the Legion 5 Is because of my budget. I do have my eyes on The ideapad gaming 3 and the Acer nitro 5 for money's sake of course. But I do wonder which one should I purchase out of this 3 in the future ? The Acer nitro 5 and Lenovo Ideapad gaming 3 are the same price but the only big difference is that the Acer nitro 5 has a 512GB SDD whilst the Lenovo ideapad 3 has a 200+ Do you think that the Legion 5 Is worth 350$ more? Although I'm not purchasing any laptop soon because I'm dead broke but if my current laptop dies on me I would be way more than dead broke because I use that laptop for work and free time gaming I normally use my laptops for work, creations, hobbies, art and Of course gaming I would love to hear the difference and opinion from anyone out of these 3 picks of mine. And also I wish everyone a new year and for them to get the best in everything and may God gift us all a good pc 🙏
How high is ur budget? I got a Legion 5 on Amazon Sale last week (in germany) for 1600€ with R7 5800H, RTX 3070, 16GB and 1TB SSD. Its performing really good and i love it! For the price it was definitely worth it in my oppinion. I can reach 118% Gaming, 99% Desktop, 122% Workstation in Userbenchmark with Stock RAM (not the fastest but upgrade able). Compared to my old Laptop which is 5years old and did cost 950€ it performs about 8 times better. Phasmophobia from 30-40 to 250fps and in Minecraft from 100 to 800, but can reach 1000fps in SkyMaps easily. For the next years this one should do a great job and for the price I can really recommend it. :)
And it was the 17" one with 144Hz Display. I dont like small Displays for Laptops and 144Hz is totally fine. 165Hz isnt that high difference and probably not noticeable as a normal gamer. But the 60Hz compared to 144Hz was definitely noticeable.
for general productivity and light photo-video editing - it's still relevant and will remain such for years to come. Having said that, I would only consider base model only.
The definitive number #1 recommendation for a student is the M1 MacBook Air. Battery life is far and away better than anything a windows laptop can offer as well as its performance. The air has way better performance than anything but a gaming laptop and it has no fan. It definitely is the best choice and it comes in at 899 on sale right now
I really don’t know why he keeps recommending dell laptops. They’re quality control has had issues FOR YEARS. They keep saying they’ve fixed the problem, with people still having issues. The MacBook Air/Pro is a better buy in just about every metric compared to the Inspiron/XPS.
ASUS ROG STRIXXX!!!! It may not be a Zephyrus by any means, but it packs so much of a punch (I'm able to get GTA V running at max settings w average 190FPS!!). It's also the only laptop with a plastic body that I would recommend. It presents one of the best RGB options on the market, which can all be controlled within the Asus Armoury Crate software. Along with this you can customise fan settings so you ensure that your CPU and GPU never throttle. (obviously all of this is a very biased as my only computer is the STRIX)
Please review 2 in 1 laptops. I am confused between Lenovo Yoga 6 AMD with 5700U and Lenovo Yoga 7 Gen 6 AMD with 5800U. Both are similarly priced but Yoga 6 has 1 TB SSD while Yoga 7 has 512 GB (no 1 TB option) My use case: I am an avid movie watcher, RUclips videos and like to use it as a tablet, so lightweight is also a must. Battery life is very important for me, more than performance. I am just looking for light laptop with biggest battery pack. I am currently using 7th gen i7 7500u. So which would be better for me? Lenovo Yoga 6 with AMD 5700U or Lenovo Yoga 7 with AMD 5800U. Also between 5700U and 5800U which is more efficient?
Buying a laptop in Europe especially in Greece is a nightmare. The only laptops that keeps its price in us pricing are MacBooks. So should I go for the m1 MacBook Air(2020 base model) ,aero 13, or the zenbook ?
if they are similarly priced and you don't need Windows for your work, go for M1 MacBook Air (base model). Otherwise Aero 13 would be a great pick, IMHO.
I got a Legion 5 (r7 5800h, 1TB SSD, 16GB, RTX 3070) for 1600€ on Amazon Sale. In germany prices are also not that cheap but 1600€ for such specs was really worth it. The performance is awesome and I dont think there arent any Laptops in germany which could beat it in value for money. Stock Ram is not the fastes but u can easily get fastest dual channel Ram (for 5800h) for under 100€ which will give the ryzen prozessor much more power. I guess I will do it in the future. :)
I got almost all gaming laptops this year and if this is not a sponsered revieuw I do not know what is. I do enjoy this channel; shame that I get black bars on a 17,3 screens. Would be worse on the 16;10 hype screens. Wonder if that is smart in the long run. Same review topic without blackbars I will alsways choose. Hope it helps...
2:28 actually a 3060 Dash F15 cost 300 dollars less than an equivalent Zephiris G15 in the same chassis. So you pretty much got your CPU for free compared to Ryzen model. Or what, you wanted Intel to pay the manufacturers to accept their CPU? That model also was one of the cheapest 3060 laptops this year. so... what the heck? Not to mention you're forgetting H35 having insane battery life compared to crappy one on H45. YOU are the one who was seriously impressed by 15 hours on Dash F15. Where did all that excitement go all of a sudden?
NO ONE BOTHER GETTING THE G15 I used my g15 for barely over 2 weeks and while it can run virtually anything smoothly and without problem, it has a very relevant problem where it will just completely turn off with no ability of turning back on. Loved it while it worked but for how short it lasted and the prices we were given for repair, it's simply not worth it.

Got the Asus G15 with 3070 at best buy for 1399$ can't beat it.
that rog flow x13 really impressive in any single way. touchscreen, 360°, good battery life, insane performance, thin & light, and more!
I can't help but finding myself wanting to pass over over the Legion 5/5 Pro for the Legion 7/7i, though 🤤
We tried the new Book 13 and the keyboard isn't appreciatively better....
@@HardwareCanucks Keyboards are a matter of personal taste (except for the butterfly keyboard, that was a trash keyboard, especially for reliability); you'll generally get used to it the more you use it.

I think almost every laptop review roundups this year has legion 5 or 5pro as top or one of the top gaming laptops
i love lenovo
@@cameronbosch1213 isn't that just his opinion tho?
Late to the party but I'm really happy with my Gigabyte G5, $1200 normally and constantly on sale for 1100 or lower gets an i5 10500h (6/12) and a 125w rtx 3060 with 16gb memory and 1080p 144hz, and the biggest reason I got it was its additional m.2 and 2.5in storage bay for upgradeable storage. I got it on cyber Monday for 950 after rebate and so far have loved it.
The videos was Chef's Kiss and Amazingly Informative!
It is always soo good to see E..... Be Blessed E!!!!
No shout out for the Framework laptop shaking things up for modularity this year?
No. They honestly haven't shaken anything up. Its a super niche product.
there's still a long way ahead for them to polish that product
@@HardwareCanucks Still, once they get a gaming laptop, 😁
Nice video but you should consider rechecking if the new models of laptops have removed issues or not. The G15 Advantage edition starting with M7 and beyond are fully fixed. They have 0 issues now.
thanks man I wanna look at buying a laptop but I needed help to understand which is the best value
jesus how the hell do you get it for $645
the same model costs like 900$ in my country

I love this colaboration
Great rundown, thank you 😊❤️
Dude top quality video
Your voice is really monotone in a calm way. I almost fell asleep while watching the vivobook 16x review lol!
I did quite a research, and decided to buy Legion 5 RTX2070. Price is great and it seems like its the only one producing GPU at 130W.
I think leaving out the Acer Swift X is a bad call. That laptop is arguably the best sub $1000 on the Windows side
Interesting observation! We'll look into it!
That's a Dell QC trackpad issue; if you get one with a lemon trackpad, you should've sent it back.
@@cameronbosch1213 At the time i needed the laptop more than the functioning trackpad,
@@spathens8225 It's absolutely not your fault; Dell shouldn't be sending flawed trackpads TWICE!
I got the Inspiron 16 plus, and have read loads and loads of people have had issues with the trackpad. Mine is pretty much unusable at this point and I'm still waiting to hear from them if a return and refund is possible. It's a shame, because that screen is gorgeous and the performance is top notch
Very good review, thanks.
I got ASUS TUF A14 late 2021 FA506QR I got it at 1349 euros with a 3070 95TDP + 15 Boost and 16 Ram Dual and Ryzen 7 / Vega Graphics. Its a hell of a beast for the price.
Wow this video is amazing 👍👍👍
Awesome video.
The Acer Nitro 5 is an awesome gaming laptop too. I would have loved to see a video on it :)

Cipher it's me🙂
Im watching this for the future, I'm currently running everything on my potato laptop and I wish to have new one in the future because each day I'm worried this laptop will just completely break down ( yes it's that bad)
Over here laptops are really pricey (in my eyes at least) I've had my eye on 3 laptops after watching many youtubers like Jarrod, toasty brothers and many others and now I've stumbled onto you and I must say you really gave a great explanation and impressions
Once again I keep telling myself that if I do get my new laptop in the future I'd pick the legion 5.
The only reason why I'm not picking the Legion 5 Is because of my budget.
I do have my eyes on The ideapad gaming 3 and the Acer nitro 5 for money's sake of course.
But I do wonder which one should I purchase out of this 3 in the future ?
The Acer nitro 5 and Lenovo Ideapad gaming 3 are the same price but the only big difference is that the Acer nitro 5 has a 512GB SDD whilst the Lenovo ideapad 3 has a 200+
Do you think that the Legion 5 Is worth 350$ more?
Although I'm not purchasing any laptop soon because I'm dead broke but if my current laptop dies on me I would be way more than dead broke because I use that laptop for work and free time gaming
I normally use my laptops for work, creations, hobbies, art and Of course gaming
I would love to hear the difference and opinion from anyone out of these 3 picks of mine.
And also I wish everyone a new year and for them to get the best in everything and may God gift us all a good pc 🙏
Hang in there. Everything will be fine soon ♥
The new M1 MacBook Air is *unbelievably good*

Is the macbook air m1 still worth to buy in 2022...or should i wait for m2 model.whats your call....
Its still really, really good
for general productivity and light photo-video editing - it's still relevant and will remain such for years to come. Having said that, I would only consider base model only.
I just realized that he uses OnePlus 9. I assure you that he's a no-frill simple guy with honesty and integrity.
What about razor blade 15 base model is it worth getting ?

I am confused between Lenovo Yoga 6 AMD with 5700U and
Lenovo Yoga 7 Gen 6 AMD with 5800U.
Both are similarly priced but Yoga 6 has 1 TB SSD while Yoga 7 has 512 GB (no 1 TB option)
My use case:
I am an avid movie watcher, RUclips videos and like to use it as a tablet, so lightweight is also a must.
Battery life is very important for me, more than performance. I am just looking for light laptop with biggest battery pack.
I am currently using 7th gen i7 7500u.
So which would be better for me?
Lenovo Yoga 6 with AMD 5700U or
Lenovo Yoga 7 with AMD 5800U.

NO ONE BOTHER GETTING THE G15
I used my g15 for barely over 2 weeks and while it can run virtually anything smoothly and without problem, it has a very relevant problem where it will just completely turn off with no ability of turning back on.
