They are somewhat expensive but you can't deny that they are very beautiful and have very good components for incredible power, excellent video my friend
Incredible, now I have a question, since they are AMD processors, is it better to install Windows 10 or continue with 11? I have seen several comments that say it is better to stay with 10.
Yes, I know. I have seen both of them in BNH Software for my peace of mind, but I am going to have to continue investigating this because it really raises many questions for me.
There's always stuff on sale at gaminglaptop-deals or r/laptopdeals. Like right now you can get a 2023 Dell G15 w/a 7840HS and 4060 for as low as $765 for example and there's always previous gen stuff going for even cheaper. It's really up to an individual to decide how much they want to pay/what they want to pay for.
@@lhl personally when it comes to laptops I’d never buy used just because of warranty issues and battery life issues. to be honest the only component I’d ever consider buying used was a GPU and I’d have to be desperate for one, which I’m not . But like you said that decision is for the individual to make
I'm guessing it's due to the 14" design, they probably needed to cram everything and took time with the heat / power issues... but I agree, the base level being 16GB is kind of terrible.
Lenovo is really nailing that balance with solid build quality while keeping the weight manageable. But when you throw in something like the ASUS Zephyrus G14 with its CNC-milled aluminum body, it feels like these machines are less about compromise and more about making high-performance gaming more practical on the go. What intrigues me most is the thought of where gaming laptops will go from here-is smaller always going to be better, or are we losing something?
Well put together. Personally (as a dad working from home), I'm in the market for a laptop that's portable so that I can move from room to room or go outside without being too concerned about battery life. However, I still want to be able to do some gaming on this machine during downtimes. Hence, I think we should see a trend towards more efficient processors for better battery life while not compromising on performance.
Both the Asus and Legion laptops charge via Type C. The Legion is more fussy about it needing a minimum PD3.1 charger and their Legion GaN charger works best for it because of the supported amperage.
@@MukhamediyarRaiymbek Great point! The portability factor is huge, especially for people balancing work and play in dynamic environments. I think the shift toward efficient processors is not just inevitable but crucial for the next wave of gaming laptops. We’re already seeing chips like AMD’s Ryzen series that pack a punch without draining the battery in minutes. What I’m curious about is how manufacturers will innovate in terms of cooling and power management. Can we achieve desktop-level performance without sacrificing battery life or thermal efficiency? It feels like the perfect laptop is just around the corner, but there’s always that trade-off.
The G14 D surface is quite feel cheap aluminum and too thin. I hate how Asus make a premium product but still cheap out some part like SSD and material.
I noticed there isn't a chapter for battery life. Battery life is good for those who use gaming laptops off the charger for office use or college students taking notes.
Another thing, The Legion and Asus can charge via Type C. The Asus with a minimum 65W PD3.0 charger, unsure if it's proprietary. The Legion with a minimum 140W PD3.1 charger but works best with their proprietary Legion GaN charger. I can elaborate on this if you want.

I bought an ROG Zephyrus G14 with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage for $1250. I'm a big fan of it, even with the quirks. The screen and build quality is incredible. The specs are solid, with the Ryzen 9 8945HS and an RTX 4060. The battery life is fine for a gaming laptop, but not incredible. Overall, it's a good buy for $1300.

I bought the Legion about 6 or more months ago and have been very happy with it. I needed something portable (it was replacing a 2012 MacBook Air), but also something that could replace my old desktop gaming PC and it ticks all the boxes. It had a problem with the graphics but Lenovo sent a guy out to my house, he replaced the mainboard and it fixed the issue, so I am happy with the backup as well. Asus zephyrus g14 clear winner tbh followed by razor blade 14, asus tuf , and acer helios G14 has Ryzen r9 , 32gb , nvidia 4050 rtx 90w , oled display with 3k , 1.5kg weight , super slim and sleek design amazing keyboard , best speaker among all the window laptop , extremely good life and price at 2.2k for this model....you literally get all department ...no regrets ....just get the 4050 90w if you can get your hand on it with the 32gb ( 32gb a must since you cant upgrade) Bro ....how do you put oled as A tier ...like literally the display on zephyrus is the main selling point 😂

Getting the g14 for $859 before tax with Best Buy’s open box was a great deal considering I got it about 2 months after launch must of been a review model cuz it was absolutely perfect and came with box and all the paperwork. It’s been a stellar device almost to nice to game rather be productive when using it lol
As far as the design, I think having the trunk in the back of a couple of those, while it does benefit cooling (most importantly) and also as you mention the one-handed opening; it also increases the form factor to an extent that the laptop is more like a footprint of a 15" device. It's not terrible, and I would still buy one of those if a sale was good enough; it's just that design-wise, it does at least a little make the device more of a difficult sell.
I seriously need advice after searching alot i found 2 options for my self either i go with 1) legion 5 ryzen with rtx 3060 16gb ram and 512 gb storage or 2) msi gs75 stealth core i9 with rtx 2080 32gb ram and 1 tb storage I'm getting both on same price so which one should i chose

Just bought the 2024 G14 with the R9 8945HX/4060/16gb for just over $1000. Will i regret it? Maybe. But the battery life will be better than my Vivobook Pro 14's.
I wanted to buy the TUF A14 with ryzen hx 370, rtx 4060, 32 gb and 1 tb ssd but it's sold out here in Europe. I have a student account at asus and would get it with a 20% discount
Lenovo's next 14-inch gaming laptop is going to destroy the world, considering the Slim 5 14 came out mid last year and is still running head to head with new models twice its (discounted) price. The TUF A14 looks amazing though
Appreciate the review but I don't see how you can call this the best 14 laptops, when a lot of these models you've compared, has a direct, better configuration. both the G14 and Helios Neo 14 I know for sure have 32 gb versions, I'm sure the same can be said for the other models
As a computer technician with 15 years of experience, I highly suggest NOT to buy HP. They always have devices that are hardware/software related and most of the time they never even bother to fix it or support it. Go Lenovo or Asus.
Hey Hardware Canucks, at 16:05 I think you need to check again. I checked my G14 and its USB-A both has 10Gbps mark on it, they also both hit 700 MB/s - 1000MB/s when I copy a folder from my laptop SSD to external SSD. Also on the Asus product page, they declare G14 has HDMI 2.1 FRL. I don't have 4k gaming monitor but Jarrod'sTech channel confirmed it can run 4K 120hz 12-bit with G-sync. Could be some misinformation?
The ultra 9/rtx 4070 version of the omen transcend 14 is slowly dropping in price.. saw it recently on costco uk for £1499 although i think it’s went back up to 1599.. still a great deal and with a bit of tweaking with the boost function you can get decent performance out of it
I'd get the TUF A14, but the questionable Asus warranty is always in the back of my mind, should I get a lemon. Acer is great if you always intend to use it docked to good speakers/headset, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and webcam, I guess. I wouldn't get the Razer because DDR5SODIMM is slow, and price/perf is the worst. G14 is a no go for 2024, I liked the 2023 version better. They sacrificed performance for slimness. Lenovo and HP I'd grab over a Razer, but depends on the price at time of purchase.
ik the asus warranty is questionble but my brother got the asus flow x13 for college and sometimes gaming, when it had a problem he sent it to asus and asus replaced his whole motherboard and ram to brand new ones and it works perfectly
Great video! What should I look for a high productivity laptop? (Not really gaming but handling lots of data in excel, running big SQL queries for data analytics, connecting 2 external monitors, etc)? Tx!
I would have gone for the Legion, but models with 32 GB of RAM are impossible to find. Same goes for the A14 - I've only seen one retailer in the US that has the 32 GB version. The black G14 only seems to be available for sale in the US directly from Asus in the highest configuration (8945HS, 32 GB, RTX 4070) at a price of $2100 so that's a no-go, though the Asus spec sheets lists HDMI 2.1 so not sure where you got that it only has 2.0b. I'm not a fan of the Acer's aesthetics. I'm willing to trade some performance for quieter acoustics so for me, the Omen is where I would go, though I would wait for the 32 GB/RTX 4070 configuration to drop enough in price either on a holiday sale or open box.
I wish there is a day different vendors laptops to replace m-series macbook in terms of whole build quality/bettery life/noise/performace, unfortunately not yet :( Thou Zephyrus g14 looks close. Hope second iteration of qualcom's arm will do it..
If you are ok with a 50w gpu mai has the cheap cyborg 14. This channel might call it ugly but it is kinda old mac styled and even has an ethernet port. If you like the low noise of the omen buy one of the other and run them on balanced mode
Saying that a deltaE of 1,42 is ... worse is such an entitled statement. It's still below 2 ffs! You can't see the difference. Even below 3 is still a very good value!
Gaming laptops are a scam. Before the Nvidia 40series laptops came, they had some insane deals on 3070 and 3070 ti laptops with 12th gen intel cpus for around $1000 or another hundred or two more added on that, from Canada Computer, which was an absolute worth purchase. Now they got 4060 laptops with 12-13th gen intels or ryzen cpus for around $1.5k... the 4060 with 14th gen intel being around $1.7k. Don't get me started with 4070 and beyond, huuuuuuuuuge ripoffs. It has been more than a decade and they still don't have battery efficient laptops that can last for a day (except for a select few) let alone they want to push out gaming laptops that only sit around 3-4 hours of life and after almost a year it drops to 2-3 hours... What a worthless area in the PC world. They should focus on battery life and temperature. Not thinking about how they can mangle another gpu and cram it in a tiny form factor with 30-45% performance loss compared to the full-size ones...

This was fire and helps a lot
Asus zephyrus g14 clear winner tbh followed by razor blade 14, asus tuf , and acer helios
G14 has Ryzen r9 , 32gb , nvidia 4050 rtx 90w , oled display with 3k , 1.5kg weight , super slim and sleek design amazing keyboard , best speaker among all the window laptop , extremely good life and price at 2.2k for this model....you literally get all department ...no regrets ....just get the 4050 90w if you can get your hand on it with the 32gb ( 32gb a must since you cant upgrade)
Bro ....how do you put oled as A tier ...like literally the display on zephyrus is the main selling point 😂
Question, whats the difference between ASUS computers with the G or no G.
For example whats the best one between ASUS ROG Zephyrus 14 and G14 or the Strix line??
Whats the best ASUS/ROG if you don't care about price in your opinion?
@@SigfridSWE zephyrus ...by a mile ....does everything correctly in every department ...from speaker to display to weight to battery to gaming to video call and office work with those keyboard....i actually tried all the laptop mention....the only thing i disagree is getting 4060 or 4070 and 16gb on zephyrus.....getting a 32gb is a must since you cant upgrade and if your looking for a long term use like a decade or so then 32gb is a must , and 4050 rtx 6gb 90w is sufficient for all the games period
@@SigfridSWE but if you want to save cost then maybe asus tuff would be the better option ...if ur only looking for gaming then maybe go for the strix and if your looking for office work then maybe the latest asus zenbook would be much suitable but then zephyrus does it all so yea
Interesting, thank you so mutch for taking the time out of your life to answer a strangers questions.
Lastly, just because its interesting. Whats the difference between the Zephyrus laptops with a G infront of the size numbre instead of noth having it?
@@SigfridSWE not sure lol
Getting the g14 for $859 before tax with Best Buy’s open box was a great deal considering I got it about 2 months after launch must of been a review model cuz it was absolutely perfect and came with box and all the paperwork. It’s been a stellar device almost to nice to game rather be productive when using it lol
This was such a thorough review! I also liked the comparison of the webcams -- so important for today's Zoom era.
the Legion 5 Gen 8. Ihave with 32GB of RAM and 2*4TB SSDs . Still the best in my opinion.
Outstanding reviews and comparisons!
It should be mentioned that some of these laptops can charge via Type C or otherwise a GaN charger with a Type C output. The Lenovo and Asus.
I love this design of the slim 5 14. I even prefer that design language to the current design of the 2024 slim 5 16
Hi, I really like your videos very informative, i have to search using the specs unfortunately as i'm in the UK but got more info from watching yours than people in the stores, so thank you. Needing a new laptop and i'm really stuck trying to find a good one that's not going to cost me an arm and a leg.
Thanks for the substantial review. I know now that I'll wait for a good deal on either the lenovo legion slim 5 or the asus TUF A14.
honestly, the 16" Asus ProArt laptops with Ryzen AI and a 4070 have been peaking my interest. sexy looking laptop for a windows computer, BUT the trackpad quality could be better
Are there any laptops with the new Ryzen chips and a 4080? I want the efficiency for battery but need the vram for vr
Wow, man, you have such cool colours in your video 👍
As a watch nerd, I must say: really cool Hamilton Khaki Field on you wrist!
Imo battery life tests should have a high screen brightness than 150nits.
Just bought the 2024 G14 with the R9 8945HX/4060/16gb for just over $1000. Will i regret it? Maybe.
But the battery life will be better than my Vivobook Pro 14's.
I don't need a performance PC at all and I still want the G14... Just wonder what Asus could do with a Ryzen AI CPU and a 5000 series GPU.
soothing voice, I almost skipped the laptop review part❤😂
I wanted to buy the TUF A14 with ryzen hx 370, rtx 4060, 32 gb and 1 tb ssd but it's sold out here in Europe. I have a student account at asus and would get it with a 20% discount
That's an excellent choice.
@@QimchiyI don't like screen quality on tuf series
@@MrRedialplease ooo interesting, why is that?
@@MrRedialplease its just the same quality as the ROG FLow, hence why the keyboard layout is also like the Flow
Lenovo's next 14-inch gaming laptop is going to destroy the world, considering the Slim 5 14 came out mid last year and is still running head to head with new models twice its (discounted) price. The TUF A14 looks amazing though
Do you use 14" to play game? I've rog g14 2021 and I'm always terrified that something is going to blow up
Appreciate the review but I don't see how you can call this the best 14 laptops, when a lot of these models you've compared, has a direct, better configuration.
both the G14 and Helios Neo 14 I know for sure have 32 gb versions, I'm sure the same can be said for the other models
Would love to see a similar video with 16" laptops :D (please)
We have in Poland Slim 5, I’m still thinking to buy this SKU. I like that it’s have additional M2 slot.
The old 2023 G14 with a "4090" would have been my choice. So hard to find though.
I'm happy with my 3050Ti/11400H laptop for anothet 12-24 months ngl
My next laptop will probably be Zephyrus. Asus has been going at it hard this year.
As a computer technician with 15 years of experience, I highly suggest NOT to buy HP. They always have devices that are hardware/software related and most of the time they never even bother to fix it or support it. Go Lenovo or Asus.
what do you think about Acer Predator Triton 14 (ips version) with i7 13700h, 32gb ram and rtx 4070 for 1300/1400 euros ?
Legion 7i could be comparable with Zephyrus G14 for sleek clean design.
Lenova legion slim 5 is 16" or 14"?
It would be way better if you can make a video of the most capable laptops at a reasonable price
Great! Any of these with a touch screen?
We needed the 2023 Zephyrus G14 4080 model.
If you put PTM7950 on the G14 you can flash a 105w vbios and get a little more performance.
No MSI? I do believe there is some 14 inch models, like CYBORG series
I have had three G14’s croak on me. Want to love them but can’t recommend Asus’ quality control
did you buy one from Taiwan
Hey Hardware Canucks, at 16:05 I think you need to check again.
I checked my G14 and its USB-A both has 10Gbps mark on it, they also both hit 700 MB/s - 1000MB/s when I copy a folder from my laptop SSD to external SSD.
Also on the Asus product page, they declare G14 has HDMI 2.1 FRL. I don't have 4k gaming monitor but Jarrod'sTech channel confirmed it can run 4K 120hz 12-bit with G-sync.
Could be some misinformation?
I found the same
The ultra 9/rtx 4070 version of the omen transcend 14 is slowly dropping in price.. saw it recently on costco uk for £1499 although i think it’s went back up to 1599.. still a great deal and with a bit of tweaking with the boost function you can get decent performance out of it
I wish ASUS made a Zephyrus without the light strip, it looks like crap and I find it a waste of energy.
Just wait for Black Friday kings, prices gonna get decent by the end of the year.
This is my first time seeing your video. And you remind me of Nadal from The Dictator.
well none of these can have better value than Cyborg 14, which usually costs under $1000
I'd get the TUF A14, but the questionable Asus warranty is always in the back of my mind, should I get a lemon.
Just saw the Slim5 for less than $1200 (sale)
ik the asus warranty is questionble but my brother got the asus flow x13 for college and sometimes gaming, when it had a problem he sent it to asus and asus replaced his whole motherboard and ram to brand new ones and it works perfectly
Great video! What should I look for a high productivity laptop? (Not really gaming but handling lots of data in excel, running big SQL queries for data analytics, connecting 2 external monitors, etc)? Tx!
G14
I wanted these models in Brazil 😢😮💨
Love my Razerblade 14 2023
The video I was waiting for 😏
I would have gone for the Legion, but models with 32 GB of RAM are impossible to find.
It must depend on the region, i had no problem ordering the 32GB version of my Legion 14S in the UK, they were available at Lenovo’s online store
Rtx 4070 laptop? Isnt it bad was it has only 12 vram
I'm waiting other brands to get hx370 cpu so I pick up A14 for cheaper😂
Waiting for 2024 G14
I wish there is a day different vendors laptops to replace m-series macbook in terms of whole build quality/bettery life/noise/performace, unfortunately not yet :( Thou Zephyrus g14 looks close. Hope second iteration of qualcom's arm will do it..
Watching this on my 2024 G14 🤣
If you are ok with a 50w gpu mai has the cheap cyborg 14. This channel might call it ugly but it is kinda old mac styled and even has an ethernet port. If you like the low noise of the omen buy one of the other and run them on balanced mode
Razer, man... fix your battery life!
Why the laptops are getting more expensive , these days ?
can you do one for thin and lights? New Lunar lake chips are what i need. I dont game at all
Desktop for life ❤
Now do one with 16 incher
How to get rid of the banding on a RUclips video?
All Hail ASUS TUF A 14 ❤🔥🔥💥🔥💥💥🔥
Will we have lunar lake gaming laptop?
Nope. That will be Arrow Lake H.
I like a 16” reviews later
Razor blade 14 has the same specs as the ASUS G14 but for twice the cost.
Yeah. Its one of the major issues with that laptop.
HP OMEN Transcend has to options 4 zone or single key RGB
Now do it for 16inch
Makes the G14 a TUF sell 😅
i have my 5k desktop at home and when i a traveling for work i my ps5 but starting too look for a 14 laptop
Can you tell me the name of music u used?
Sorry my English is so bad
what about the alienware x14?
Where is MSI Cyborg 14? Cheapest 14-inch gaming laptop.
when lenovo makes a gaming laptop with the body of the thinkpad t420, then i will buy it
