Individual vs Collective Culture

Individual and collective cultures are studied and compared in this video. We study Individualism and collectivism in respective cultures. This can help you, if you travel or live and work in an “I” culture or “We” culture. We give specific descriptions and contrast the attributes of both cultural traits. A country scale with the two styles is proposed to find out where you can find a specific country on the scale. Some examples of the different styles are given and an exercise for further reflection is proposed.
Further Study Questions:
a) Write down four attributes of an individualistic culture and also four attributes of a collective culture.
b) You are the team leader and come from a collective culture. Your team mates come both from collective and individual cultures. What is the decision making process in your team?
