    i`ve been seriously in love with my apx500 for some time now,,play the hell out of it daily while all the more expensive guitars are dusting,,i`ve been looking for a travelling guitar for some time now,,super small, cutaway with a good pickup,,just found out tonight that yamaha makes this travelling copy,,how sweet,,i know this will sound like some paid for ad but believe me the quality that Yamahas put into their guitars for the price blows me away,,seriously its like some miracle of our time,,,some of the places i travel to are not on the recommended list,,so losing a 250 cdn dollar guitar,,and knowing that i can just go online anywhere and pull another off the shelf is some reassuring,, I am becoming a real fan of Yamaha guitars,,thx for the video

    I notice you have alot of bass on your voice mic. Does it also apply to the guitar? I live in a town with no music dealers, so I usually order online. Its always a bit of a gamble when I order intruments. First, I hear how they sound on youtube, then I order it. When it finally comes, the sound is not near anýthing of what I have heard on youtube...
    Help me out here. Thanks

    This is almost an inch longer in scale length the the FG JR. It sounds a little richer, but I think at 22.8" vs the 21.25 of the FG JR, it would be a little stretch for my above average size 5 year old?

    I love your videos Jake. But could you really do something for me which I can't find online? I want to compare these small guitars to larger guitars, but only through the pickup/pre-amp. For example, compare the APX-T2 to the APX, CPX, and FG. But all with the same, or about the same electronics. You can compare them acoustically, but many people want to know, I'm sure, is can you make a small guitar sound big when amplified? What really is the difference when you are performing and using a dreadnought or this little travel guitar, but the main sound people are hearing is through the amp? I've got a Boss VE-8, and so additionally, and perhaps separately, if the same pickup still has a big difference, then how would (or could you) use effects to make the tiny guitar sound like a dreadnought?

    For size comparison, how tall are you? I'm 5'4" and full size guitar feels gigantic to me.

    They call it a 3/4 scale.. at 580mm, it's 90% of the 25.5" scale.

    I'm concern about the machine heads.. Are they good quality? How about the nut and saddle? Are they made by graphtech?

    very good video & playing. love this guitar. i play it a few times a day but ___ it goes out of tune constantly. i have taken of the tuners and replaces them with Grover Sta-Tite 97's.. it's better, but still goes out. i am using light gauge strings (10's) Neck truss rod is adjusted perfectly. wondering if it's got something to do with the body around the bridge. Any info appreciated, thank you

      @1stOldghm 5 лет назад +2

      Strings must slide through the nut and be properly seated at the bridge. Use some graphite on the nut and give a slight tug and stretch on the string when you install them. Guitar will tune and stay there.

    Now im in between jr2s (local price is about 100usd) and yamaha apx t2 (about 165usd), in present i prefer acoustic sound but later maybe i'll take pre amp. Should i longshot and take apx t2? Or should i take jr2s because of the solid top? Really need help and honest review, thanks in advance

    Beemn watching a few 3/4 guitar videos, they seem great for me, short torso due to a disability, but one things bugging me, there are hardly any, if any, blue ones, i need blue ones lol

      MarkoRollo it’s actually quite a lot smaller than my 3/4 size Takamine. I have it in black, but blue would be very, very nice. It really is a great little travel Guitar.

    I have the Yamaha APX 500 III and its great. I am looking for a travel guitar because I go camping in the summertime. I have to ask one question: Is the action good on this guitar?

    Hey Jake. How big is the neck on the apxt2. Hard to tell from the video. Ive got small hands so i have a really hard time reaching chords on big neck guitars.

      Lisa Scott I have this Guitar for that very reason. I am loving it, but I still prefer the sound of my 3/4 size Takamine, but I prefer the portability of the YamahaAPX

    Please don't buy it. I am not happy after online shopping. Frets are very small and strings narrow too. Sound is more treble so strumming sound is not good by using pick but only by hands ok. I am surprised to see why yamaha gave 21 frets in such a small guitar while they could use less fret to increase space to initial 4 frets which are very very tight and few chords specially AMajor hard to play on it. I am repenting after buying it so very bad decision for myself. Only looks great but not good for learners

    Why there is NO 3rd fret inlay or the 3rd fret side neck marker? Looks ugly...

  • @akmt123
