    nice video Edgar, but one thing you may not have taken into account is that if you give me a well-explained tutorial with detailed instructions, my local shop won't be able to charge me $75 to scan my VIN, harvest all my info to sell to marketing companies, and attempt to upsell me on overpriced accessories throughout the entire oil change process.

    Thanks for the video!! I was unsure I was going to be able to do this successfully but your video really helped. I did have trouble getting my filter off due to its tightness, where would you recommend I buy that oil filter tool for easy removal?

    Well I gotta do it myself since My dad doesn’t want to do it but thanks for the tutorial! Is the Engine the same as a 16 legacy?

      you're welcome. If it's the 2.5 4 cylinder engine then yes it's the exact same thing. It will only be different if you have the 6 cylinder engine

    Very nice video and well demonstrated! How many miles we can drive after using OW-20 ? The bottle says 10,000 miles, can we get 10k life for Subaru Legacy? If we get 10k miles, should we need to change filters in between ?

    • @edgarnavarro7264
      @edgarnavarro7264  3 года назад +3

      Thank you. Yes you can drive it 10,000 miles but it is not recommended. Subaru recommends to get your oil and filter changed every 6,000 miles and if you drive in harsh conditions like in snow or off roading then change it every 4,000 - 5,000 miles. Also it's a good idea to check your oil level every month as these newer vehicles have oil consumption (burn oil) to meet certain improvements in fuel economy. Hope this helps

      Yes it is a specific size. Just go to your auto parts store and give them your year, make and model of your car and they will hook you up. Don’t worry about putting one now just do it on your next oil change.

    In Australia, your Legacy is called Liberty. Subaru recommend we use 5w 30 full synthetic in our Liberty’s . I see 0w 20 was written on your oil filler cap. In my Impreza it has 0w 20. By the way the genuine black oil filter is better made then the blue filter , I seen both these cut down on MrSubaru channel and you wouldn’t use the blue after seeing that

    • @edgarnavarro7264
      @edgarnavarro7264  Год назад +1

      Yes I believe in the US Subaru recommends to use 0W-20 in order to get better gas mileage. I tried using 5W-30 and thought I felt a little bit better performance but that could’ve just been all in my head. Does your Liberty burn a lot of oil? I have to add 2 to 3 quarts of oil between oil changes, and this is supposed to be a normal thing 🤷🏽‍♂️ yes I’ve heard that the black Subaru filters are supposed to be better quality but we don’t get them here in the US 👎🏽

    • @RodSwansmad
      @RodSwansmad Год назад +2

      My Liberty has 184000 Klms on it (114300 miles) it’s never burnt any oil. But my Liberty is a 2012 model and the oil filter is underneath not on top of the engine like yours. Subaru must have changed the 2.5 oil filter position in different models. And I’ve always run the highest gas available, here in Australia our gas is graded as RON and we have E91 (10 %ethanol) , 95 and 98. I’ve found out your gas is graded differently MON and MON 93 is virtually the same as our RON 98

    • @edgarnavarro7264

      @@RodSwansmad that’s really weird. I think the oil consumption problem started on the 2013 or 2014 models.

    • @edgarnavarro7264
      @edgarnavarro7264  4 года назад +4

      This vehicle has over 100,000 miles on it and I'm still using 0W-20 and haven't had any issues. I know it's recommended to change viscosity after 75,000 miles but my vehicle is not leaking any oil and it still runs happy so I keep using 0W-20. So yes you can still use 0W-20 at 73,000 miles

      I’m not quite sure. I think you would need more information to try and diagnose the issue. Did it happen before? Did it happen right after oil change? When does it happen? Does it happen all the time?

    • @edgarnavarro7264
