Easier way of going about the wiring is running the wires from the mirrors to the main harness at firewall (near brake pedal, to the right of the ecm). Left turn signal is a green/white wire, right turn signal is a white/blue wire, DRL/parking is a brown wire
Thank you for this suggestion... What about the passenger side mirror? Run those wires the same way or go to the lights the way he did?
@@camposvazquez The passenger one goes to the white/blue wire
@@owengaming5224 thank you
Why not hook up wires to headlight switch and turn signal switch instead of running through the firewall?
Thanks for the video, you helped make the job much easier to do
U made it simple as day for me, thank you sir!
"I've already figured out what colors go to what", that's what I came here to learn. The rest is easy.
wire your blinkers directly to the turn signal lever in the cab. If you take the cover on steering console off, then there is a plug under there that you can just put your wires for the blinkers too
On these trucks with the tow package, I always run wiring off the trailer wiring to avoid problems down the line. It's just a few feet more wiring but have all light wires+12V wire.
I am replacing my mirrors with the upgrades as well. So this is helpful.
Thanks for the help,I used your video and had everything done and wired up in a little over an hour. I didn't do defrost though, I'm sure I'll regret it later down the road but it's an easy wire up if I decide to
Factory heat on these (99-07 superduties) is ignition controlled constant 12v, I upgraded my '05s to '12 mirrors with power fold and telescope. Had to figure wiring for fold and telescope but heat and all was there, had to make up adapters or cut and splice... I chose to try and fabricate adapters.
I'm confused as to why you had to run the ground since the electric motor for the mirror adjustment is already grounded wouldn't that serve the others as well?
Good video thank you
You didn’t hook up the heated part of the mirrors?
Thank you for the heads up. I got no clue why so knuckleheads click the thumbs down!!! Excellent vid.
What if you don’t have a harness plug behind the door panel
great vedeo nice working and explain! I would like to know how is removed a glass mirror! my is original excursion 7.3TD because the turn light on driver side not working!! I put a new relay and nothing is happening!! probably y need find out inside mirror!! cheers from Norway
My truck had power and heated mirrors but the adapter plug only tapped in to one of the plugs my original non tow mirrors were plugged in to the turn signals dont work and i dont think the heated portion of my mirrors are working any insight as to how to get that working on my truck 2000 ford excursion limited
Did your truck already have the plug in in the door before u removed the door panel ? Mine does not have the plug in there my truck is a 2004 XL trim trying to figure out how to go about this with out that plug in already there
Mine already had power windows, not sure what would be needed if you don't have them
I’m just talking bout the mirrors for the lights manly but kinda wouldn’t mined the heat to work too but I’m not worried to much bout it
The mirrors in the video came with two style plugs to adapt to the truck. I did a video on these mirrors by yitamotors
I got adaptors too but my truck factory don’t have the plug in to plug it in too bc it didn’t have power or heated mirrors factory
Just catching up with this video. Nice set up, same as mine. I'm interested in which fuse you tapped for the heat and what is the Amp rating? Thanks in advance for your help.
i have the same mirrors as you. my passenger side running and turn signals are dimmer than my driver side. have you heard anything regarding this?? i re-did the ground like 3 times and still dim.
Im adding 04 style mirrors with the lights i wired my doors to my signals and running lights like yours, will the colors be the same on the 04 style mirrors? They wore the same 04 to 07 style, let me know if you can please!
Is the wiring harness there if you don't have power windows or mirrors?
Maybe you can help me out. Every video I see (8 different videos I’ve checked) with this conversion already has power mirrors stock, so no need to wire that in. Mine is a 1999 F350. Just ordered the new style. But wondering how I’m going to wire in the power mirrors. I bought the Dorman switch to control them. But trying to get an idea of the process to wire it up correctly. No luck so far.
Did you ever get this figured out? I just bought a 99 F350 and want to do the same.
@@chriscrispin2860 No not completely. But I bought 2011 King Ranch door panels and they have a power mirror switch that I’ll be using. Wiring up the blinkers isn’t a big issue, most wire them up to the column though I’ve seen a few run wires to the headlight blinkers. The heat and movement I’m guessing I’ll have to install a new fuse/relay panel which shouldn’t be that difficult. I’ll have to do that when I swap in the 2016 heated and cooled seats as well as the 16 center console’s inverter.
I put in a power slider which my truck didn’t come with. I’ll have to wire that up to that new fuse/relay panel as well.
@@chriscrispin2860 Look up Zachary McFarlin on RUclips. Tons of good ideas for your “new” truck. Be careful, it’s an expensive road lol
what gauge wire did you use for the wires?
Cant you wire it to the harness under your dash Or is this way safer?
+Ze Hacker you can, if you can track them down, just didn't take the time to trace out the wires in the harness
+Ze Hacker assuming you mean instead of running all the way back to the headlights
I wired mine to the fuse block
Did you select a switch and location? If so, what did you use ? Where did you finally install it?
Do you have link for mirrors?
Same process on passenger side?
+Lane U Yeah
Do you have to have two separate switches to turn the heat on for both mirrors or can you wire it so that one switch turns the heat on for both mirrors?
+Lee Caron yes run the power for the heat to the driver side from the passenger side to turn both on the same time
Ah ok thank you! I have a early 99 f350 powerstroke that did not come with turn signals nor heat. Will for sure revert back to your videos for help.
Lee Caron do you have the round plug?
I keep blowing fuse with white wire I got blinker to work but running lights no go
Lane BTC my white wire was for heat, the red wire was for the running light
Wat is the brand of mirrors did u buy if u don't mind me asking
Yitamotors
Its cool that your posting this for people to learn, but please god, dont copy this guys wiring connections, pure cancer.
Why not just tap the harness under the column.. and, the headlight switch..
Did this make your blinkers blink fast
No blinks normal
What size wire did you use
I got power going my mirrors. But nothing actually happening in the mirrors.
