Just an update to share, My 2003 F350 has micro fuses so the fused pigtail I had wouldn't work so to save a trip we thought about it and ended up wiring the heat to the window lockout switch. I never use that switch so it was a no brainer for me, it was so easy to do! It also works great, windows locked means heat on.
Best dang video yet on adapting power mirrors with heating and turn signal function to a Ford 2003 F-250 Super Duty . Fits my application to a T. I highly recommend this video for anyone installing this after market modification.
I found that my 2003 F-250 was already wired for turn signal, running lights and heated. All I needed to do was to install a switch (optional) to only run the heated option in cold weather instead of continuously. If yours is already wired for the three options it’s really just plug and play
Thank you for your video and PDF link.I just finished my wiring and couldn't have done it without your help. I did mine a little different, I took apart those extra mirror harnesses that were included and added those pins to the stock harness mounted on the door. Then ran my blue, red and ground wires to those. Worked perfect. Thanks again.
Just got my mirrors and you have an awesome video to help me install them. Thank you for your time and expertise. My next job is door lock actuators . Hoping to find a great video for that also.
Justin, I have "searched the world over"😆 I have looked at EVERY video on yucktube and you have the BEST step by step video on this upgrade my friend. I've got to do this to my 2000 F350 73 extended cab. I'll be doing everything that you did so thank you very much!!! New Scribber!! 👍👍
I have watched probably a dozen videos on this subject and you BY FAR have the best one out there. As Rob Delg said (1 year ago) I don't see why you don't have 1 mil viewers on this. OK...I guess there's not 1 mil people swapping out there mirrors as we are. And.....I love that you have your cute little daughter (Vanna :)) helping you. She reminds me of my oldest 8 year old granddaughter. I don't "subscribe" to many videos but am definitely subscribing to yours. THANK YOU for such an impressive video. I no feel totally confident in swapping out my mirrors.
Justin, awesome vidio. I am a 2004 f250 6.0 guy. You make me want to get a 7.3 just so I can get all the great vidios you produce. I just ordered the same updated mirrors you are using. After going through many many many reviews I decided on YITAMOTOR TOWING MIRRORS. Keep the great vidios coming bud. Your daughter was a great help for you. give her a high five for me.
Perfect timing. I have the exact same mirrors. It didn't come with a picture of the wiring. I've been dreading doing it I thought it was going to be a big complicated deal. Great video No Nonsense no extra talking about other nonsense or pausing. Right to the point. The mirrors that I have have been sitting for 3 months I walk past them every day. Thanks to this video I will definitely be doing them this weekend thanks excellent video
Thank you BTR, I have the 03 truck with the 7.3 Diesel; I was very impressed with your channels and everything you have done on your truck I wish to do my self, you're a great teacher for those of us who don't work on our truck as much as most people. Please show us any additional upgrades you may do. Thank you, P.S. You should have millions of subscribers and views, you may wish and see if RUclips are screwing with you.
Did the mirror upgrade a year ago. Completed the tun signal, running lights and mirror heater today. 2001 F250 7.3L, 95k miles. ThNks for the great video.
I found this video some time ago when I purchased my newer style tow mirrors. I installed them right after I got them but Im just now getting around to wiring them up. Your video took away all of the research I would've normally needed to do to get these this working properly. Thank you...
I agree, how do you not have a millions followers. This video was done with enough detail but not too much. Everything was done in an order that makes sense. I just bought the mirrors online and can’t wait for them to get here and hook them up.
Amazing video!!! You broke this install down professionally and simply enough for ANYONE to complete themselves. Thank you coming from 1 Powersrotke owner to another!!
This video answered every question I had about these mirrors. I wired my switch right underneath the mirror motor controls to keep all my mirror controls in one location. The button blank you took out is where the adjustable foot pedal button goes. I have it on my 03 Lariat. Great video thanks for taking the time to post!
Got my "Motoor" mirrors on today...finally. Different brand but they have the turn signal in the mirror as well as front housing. Wiring color coding was different, even based on another post for same mirrors. End the end of the (1/2) day it was totally worth the upgrade. I was however able to tie the heat feature into the factory defrost switch which is really nice. Thanks again for your awesome video.
EXCELLENT VIDEO!! This was the absolute best "how to" video I've seen on RUclips!! Important details are shared slowly, thoroughly and in an order that makes sense. The level of is beyond commendable, it's extraordinary. Everybody making "how to" videos would be well advised to watch this video to see how to do it correctly. THANK YOU FOR AN EXCELLENT VIDEO - I'm headed back to the garage with FULL CONFIDENCE I will have these mirrors wired and mounted in no time. Thank you, Jeffrey (Healdsburg, CA)
Justin, great video and description of every detail. I'm getting prepped to hook up these mirrors to my 2000 F250. The two turn signal wires were the same colors you identified as well as the brown wire behind the main light switch. The only additional notes I'd add when dealing with the 2000 F250, I did not have to remove the fuse box to splice into the turn signal wires and the slot to add power for the heated mirrors was #27 vs. #29 in your 2002. I've ran all of the wires into the doors but since I'm getting a total exterior body makeover on my truck over the coming 2 months, I plan on finishing the installation once that's complete. Again really nice job of detailing your installation.
Justin (or anyone else), I have a question. Because my truck is going to be in the body shop for a couple of months I went ahead and installed my YitaMotor mirrors just to make sure everything is ok. They work great but I found they are NOT symmetrical when looking from the front of the truck. The drivers side mirror is at a 25 degree angle to the window and 15.5" from the window to the corner of the outside mirror housing vs the passengers side mirror is at a 35 degree angle to the window and 13.5" form the window to the corner of the outside mirror housing. Even my wife and son can easily see they are different. Can you tell me if you experienced this with your truck? Thanks much.
Did you ensure everything was seated and mounted properly? All bolts/nuts tightened, etc? I could see one being out of wack if it wasn't fully pressed into the door where it mounts. Could also be you got a badly molded set. I'd reach out to YM and get a replacement if everything else is good.
@@TheBTRGarage Thanks much! Both mirror bases are tight against the truck and the body lines are appropriate. I called Yitamotor customer service and am awaiting a response. The lady I was talking to initially seem not to quite understand the problem I was describing so I'm a bit concerned. One other point to add to the installation as an enhancement, I bought 4 pin male/female receptacles and wired the mirror leads to one and the wires I pull for the turn signal, running lights and heated mirror feature with the other so the mirrors could be unplugged when the guy does my body work or if I ever have to replace them. Thanks again.
just fyi to everyone going to do this, if you dont want to add a switch. You can put the fuse adder on the rear defroster switch circuit f2.9 because the switch is power side commanded, aka when you turn on the rear defroster it will turn on the heated mirrors. eliminates extra wiring and switch installation. plus you should only heat the mirrors/rear glass until its clear unless its very cold climates. hope this reaches the people doing this upgrade. beyond that its a great breakdown of installation. doubt it will get many likes but maybe the maker can make a note in the description.
Good info! I believe it has been mentioned in the comments already. Also, a lot of trucks do not have a rear defroster, just like my truck didn't. So, it is necessary in those cases to have a switch. If you have a rear defroster, definitely use that to keep things simple.
@@TheBTRGarage my bad didn't know that! didnt mean to come off like a jerk. great job on the install. just got those led ones to match the led headlamps cant wait til my customer comes in for the install. thanks for the reply sir.
Thank you very much BTR, I followed your instructions and I already have the mirrors installed in my truck. I am very grateful that you have shared this video, your explanation is very clear. thanks again
I bought a different brand before I came across this video. These instructions were the exact same for my product. I did have a bit of an issue on some of the connections not being solid enough and had to go back and really bite down on those splices. Everything is working great now.
This is by far the best video I've seen. A very detailed explanation on how to hook up everything. I just got my Trail Ridge mirrors today. I'll be hooking the harness part up this weekend. Keep up the great videos!
THIS THE BEST VIDEO EVER. Thanks for the detailed video very helpful. Nice neat wiring.👌 Clear wiring instructions. Who could ask for more! Awesome video! Thank you very much!!
I really appreciate the video of the install. Your the reason I picked that brand to make everything go easier. And the wiring color helped out a lot. I have a 02 f250 XLT.
Terrific tutorial. I'm installing the same mirrors on my 00 F-350 so your video is very timely. I like the idea of adding a switch for the heated mirror function. Nice job on the video and nice work on the truck! Thank you.
The place where you put the switch is generally used for a switch to move the pedals back and forth. I have a 2002 f350 xlt powerstroke and I have that switch
Thanks for the detailed instructions on how you upgraded your sideview mirrors. You've made a subscriber out of me, because I'm a new owner of a 2003 Ford Excursion, who's planning to do a few additions to enhance and personalize it. Looking forward to seeing a new video on you possibly installing cab-over lights. BTW, the blanked out area you chose for your switch is where Ford put the button for the adjustable pedals on the Excursion.
Just installed these mirrors on my '01 F250, wiring them now. Bulbs are filament type, same as interior door kick panel bulb. Thankful for Justin's post ,as these mirrors came with no instructions. Also curious how the bulbs are accessed, as I pulled the lens off and now need to glue it back on.....(oops)! Good mirrors, overall easy install (with Justin's help).I'll let y'all know how to access the bulbs after I attempt to not damage the new mirrors again!
Very nice job. I just installed the same mirrors on my 2001 F350. was looking for how to hook up the same wires you did. My only suggestion would be to stagger the connections in the door so the wires will lay down in line not bunched together. Great job thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the comments! Yes, I agree about staggering the connections in the door. I learned that the hard way on the first door (which is in the video). On the passenger door I did what you mentioned and it worked out much better!
I love this video great job explaining everything thank you and also thank you for not cobbling it together this is the best video I’ve seen so far with installing these mirrors
Great video, by far the best detailed one. I'm glad you showed us the diagram too, other videos on this exact same install do not show us the diagram, they just talk about the wires and colors, not sure why. I put these same mirrors on my truck, different brand, but will be wiring them once the weather warms up. Will be using your video as a guide, thanks a whole bunch!! BTW where you put your button, that's where the power adjustable pedals button goes, I have that on my 2002 F250 Lariat. Thanks again !!
Thank you! I never figured out what the extra wiring was. There was a small indicator light attached to it so I'm guessing it might have been a rig to keep glow plugs on longer (for cold winter starts).
... is waiting for the "Hey everybody! My name is Justin, and I am running a ND2 MX5 as I want to win all the PAX!" Can't wait to see the racecar vids again, but I get the truck ones. My wife won't drive a truck/trailer and she limited our garage to 3 total cars :(
Oh the ND2 had crossed my mind already, but don't want to switch it up quite yet. I've been doing more work on the truck lately so that's what I'm recording 😁
Great video. Your video really helped me out with my mirror install on my 02 F250 7.3l. Appreciate the documentation that you provided as well. Just have to figure out what type of switch I want for the defrost. Thanks again, sir.
I would tap into the rear window defroster for the mirrors. That's how it is on newer vehicles I've owned. Thanks for the info. Looking into a nice 2003 F350, and it has the older style mirrors on it. Your video may come in handy.
Great video and content. Those splice taps are garbage, though - especially on a vehicle. Guaranteed intermittent connections in the future. Checkout the new waterproof solder butt splices.
Thanks for video great information , now I need to order some Mirrors for my 2001 F250 , hade a Turkey flew up and busted passenger Mirror just the other day.
Nice video...you can take a bungie cord around your window frame and through the old mirror to hold if from falling off, if your doing it yourself. Quick and simple. Glad you have an assistant though. ;-)
Excellent video, tip for not loosing the nut's in the door, use some bearing grease in the socket and that keeps the nut from falling out of the socket and down in the door. I'm very interested in the upgrade but not sure about if the turn signal and parking light are worth the effort, I hate wire project's.
Great tip, thanks for that! You can always install the mirrors and just not wire in those functions. In fact, I was going to go that route because I am not a fan of wiring either. But, I dug in and got it done and made this video to hopefully help others who do not like wiring like I do :)
@@TheBTRGarage I am very detail oriented and I hate splicing into wire harness, it just looks cheap too me. When I get the mirror's I might run the wiring but probably not if I can't find a clean way too install the extra wire's.
I hope you don't have trouble with those 3M connectors. I throw them as for as i can. They corrode or end up cutting the main wire. If you have trouble that is the first place to look. Thanks for the help
Detailed video man I’m doing this in the morning but my problem is the connector I have won’t fit my stock mirror connector probably going to hard wire it all in 👍🏼hope all is well your way bud stay safe
Very nice job. We've got the same mirrors and are better prepared because of your good work. Thank you. One thing about the video... On the part where you cover the Light Switch Tap-Brown Wire/Running Lights. Nothing is ever said there, that a brown has to run to each side for each side marker lamp. We did not see any video of the brown wire run, nor did we see it in your wire loom. Did we miss it?... or did you?
I show it around the 20:35 mark in the video. I also point it out earlier in the video but the lighting is not great. Was that what you were looking for?
Love the videos. Since the door panel is off, I was going to upgrade my speaker as well. But I was also wondering if it would make any sense to put some of those adhesive sound dampening tiles on the door while the panel was off.
Good job on the Video explaining the process. How did you find out what door panels wood fit your truck? The panel looks the same as the one on my F650 witch leads me to believe that mass production from Ford Trucks will allow fitment for a lot of trucks!? Your assistant was excellent. Good Job.
Everything works great thanks .. I know the right turn signal is a yellow wire with a white stripe. But is there another color wire for the left signal... thanks
For me it was the colors listed in my sheet here : btrgarage.com/files/F250-Mirror-Wiring.pdf Left turn signal - green with white stripe Right turn signal - white with blue stripe
How stable are these mirrors while moving any vibration or shaking? Just concerned with them being aftermarket as their quality! Great in depth video, answered my installation questions.
I followed your lead. They are great. Thanks for turning us on to them. It was relatively painless to follow your lead. Mine have a strange feature and I'm wondering if it's a sign of a broken mirror. my drivers side mirror only extends about 30mm, the passenger extends 70mm. Is that the way your's work or is my drivers mirror damaged? Their support needs a little work! Cheers, Manning
Awesome video but the choice of electrical connections being used will only cause issues later. If you're not gonna solder and heat shrink everything at least use shrinkable butt connectors. Keep it sealed up
Thanks for the feedback! I went back and forth on the soldering, I prefer that way but I've also heard a lot of good reasons not to do that. It might be a race car thing, but so far these are holding up.
I don’t understand how this channel doesn’t have 1mil subscribers. Content is awesome!
Keep up the great work
Me neither 😂 Share with your friends, that really helps the channel out, thanks for the comment!

Looking forward to seeing a new video on you possibly installing cab-over lights.
BTW, the blanked out area you chose for your switch is where Ford put the button for the adjustable pedals on the Excursion.
Thanks for the sub! Glad the video helped out, that's what they are here for :)
Thanks for the video. Just ordered me a set for my old F350. 👍
Thanks for the feedback on the signal bulbs. Thought for sure they were LED.
The little port where you wired the heat switch is for adjuatable foot pedal swith in lariat tirim. Great video!
I love this video great job explaining everything thank you and also thank you for not cobbling it together this is the best video I’ve seen so far with installing these mirrors
Thanks! I'm glad it could help!
Where you put your heater switch is the short people pedal adjustment. Loved the detail, thanks.
Thanks for the comments! Glad I could help.
Great video, that extra bundle of wires may have been an aftermarket remote start. Just a though. Very thorough video.
Thank you! I never figured out what the extra wiring was. There was a small indicator light attached to it so I'm guessing it might have been a rig to keep glow plugs on longer (for cold winter starts).
And I just put these mirrors on my 04 and WOW they are the so much better than the other little mirrors from OEM.
... is waiting for the "Hey everybody! My name is Justin, and I am running a ND2 MX5 as I want to win all the PAX!"
Can't wait to see the racecar vids again, but I get the truck ones.
Sure, glad the video helped!
I would tap into the rear window defroster for the mirrors. That's how it is on newer vehicles I've owned.
Thanks for the info. Looking into a nice 2003 F350, and it has the older style mirrors on it. Your video may come in handy.
Yep, rear window defroster is an option too. However, some trucks like mine, do not have a rear defroster, so gotta get it elsewhere.
@@TheBTRGarage I see, I see. Perfectly logical reasoning on your part, then.
Thanks for the video. Have been looking for some mirrors like this for my 2001 7.3 F350.
Great video and content. Those splice taps are garbage, though - especially on a vehicle. Guaranteed intermittent connections in the future. Checkout the new waterproof solder butt splices.
Very detailed instructions. I am subscribing to your channel. Thank you and keep up with the good job!
Thanks!
My XLT truck has a pedal adjustment switch in that location that you put the heated mirror switch.
Thanks for video great information , now I need to order some Mirrors for my 2001 F250 , hade a Turkey flew up and busted passenger Mirror just the other day.
Great Video! Thanks for taking the time to make it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great job man! My youngest daughter is named Shelby as well!!
I think for obvious reasons.🤔
Just found your channel. Its excellent quality and very informative. Very well done bro. You just gained a subscriber
Thanks Steve, appreciate it!
This video had amazing detail about the wire especially. From a fellow RUclipsr I know how much effort it takes, thank you .
You're very welcome! Thanks!
Thank you You made my install so easy. Great video
Great to hear!
Awesome.. thanks for the in-depth video, I had been waiting to do this..
Glad it was helpful!
Best video I have seen regarding this upgrade!
Thanks!
@@TheBTRGarage just picked up a 2003 F350 4x4 with 36,221 miles super clean no dings, interior is a 9 out of 10
36k miles? Wow what a find, congrats! Sounds like it's in amazing condition 👌
Thank you for the video, got my mirrors hooked up today , saved me a lot of time doing research
Awesome!
Thanks, man. This helped me a lot. Turned out I had a short somewhere in the ground wire to the switch.
Glad it helped!
Good work by Shelby there!
All those extra connections in your wiring are either a aftermarket alarm or remote start or both.
Wonder what pins the factory connector uses. Could pin it correctly and no janky splice connectors.
Detailed video man I’m doing this in the morning but my problem is the connector I have won’t fit my stock mirror connector probably going to hard wire it all in 👍🏼hope all is well your way bud stay safe
Your detail is awesome! We have the same truck, even the same color. Keep up the great vids!
Thanks, appreciate that. Great truck!
Great job! Very informative
Great video tku! Wiring mine up tomorrow
Great instructions. I will wire heated mirror wire to defroster wire on heater functions.
Perfect!
Great Video! Super helpful thanks for posting!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for making this video! It was done very well.
Content is awesome!
Keep up the great work
Thank you!
Rather than cut/ splice the heated mirror, signal and parking light. You can buy the wire connectors that fit into the Ford harness
Love the videos. Since the door panel is off, I was going to upgrade my speaker as well. But I was also wondering if it would make any sense to put some of those adhesive sound dampening tiles on the door while the panel was off.
Thanks! I'm thinking about upgrading the speakers in my truck as well. Not sure how much the sound dampening tiles would help, but worth a shot!
Good job on the Video explaining the process. How did you find out what door panels wood fit your truck? The panel looks the same as the one on my F650 witch leads me to believe that mass production from Ford Trucks will allow fitment for a lot of trucks!?
Your assistant was excellent. Good Job.
Thanks! What do you mean about the door panels? I just have the original panels.
Everything works great thanks .. I know the right turn signal is a yellow wire with a white stripe. But is there another color wire for the left signal... thanks
For me it was the colors listed in my sheet here : btrgarage.com/files/F250-Mirror-Wiring.pdf
Left turn signal - green with white stripe
Right turn signal - white with blue stripe
@@TheBTRGarage thanks so much
How stable are these mirrors while moving any vibration or shaking? Just concerned with them being aftermarket as their quality! Great in depth video, answered my installation questions.
They've been just fine, no shaking or vibrations at all 👍🏻
Ok Thanks@@TheBTRGarage
Thank you. Best video out there!
Glad the video could help! Both my mirrors extend the same distance, definitely something wrong if one extends shorter than the other.
Great job! Suggest taking close up of the wiring diagram for mirrors and truck
Thanks for the feedback! I scanned the documents and made them available here:
btrgarage.com/files/F250-Mirror-Wiring.pdf
I'm bout to do mine rn I think now I can do it haha 😄 and also need to install my cab lights 😅
Good luck! Not too bad of a job if you prep and understand things before hand.
Awesome! Thank you for the video! We are glad that you like the mirrows.
