I just got back into reading not too long ago, I love physical books, but this is something I've been wanting to try out for a long time.
And you, my friend, have convinced me. I'm grabbing one later this week 😊

Guys this might sound crazy but I think you should go for Kindle paperwhite with auto brightness. This feature on phone I don’t care but when it comes to Kindle this is a deal breaker!
When I am in a bright room I lower the brightness to 0 but if for some reason light goes out due to power outage then kindle becomes so dark that I can’t see any screen so I need to hse my phone’s torch feature or my charging light nearby to increase the brightness. If I knew this insight then I’d have gone for paperwhite signature but now it’s not possible.
So go for that auto brightness if you are let’s say reading in woods or something or anywhere if you think you will need it.
    Thanks

Hi Marina, just wondering what the kindle is like to use compared to something like the iPad mini for books etc as always thought the mini 6 would be a good competitor against the kindles

I don't have an iPad, but I have an older Kindle Paperwhite and the Kindle app on my iPhone. The actual Kindle is way easier on my eyes. There’s no glare from the screen, and the Kindle does not put out blue light to disturb your sleep patterns like an iPad would. I generally have less eye strain when reading for long periods on the Kindle. Additionally, I enjoy a distraction-free device separate from all the temptations of a more comprehensive iOS device. Sure, you can turn on DND, but the apps are all still there. I am ready to move on from my older Paperwhite, and a new Paperwhite is my chosen pick!

I don't own an iPad mini at the moment but I do find it more comfortable to read on the Kindle than on an iPhone/iPad. That's the main thing for me.
