I've always been a Japanese bike guy. I rode R1s for years. And then I went back to dirt bikes. And now Im buying a street bike again. I had immediately looked at the MT09, Z900, GSXS 1000, etc. I never had considered Ducati. But when I seen the Streetfighter my heart fluttered. Went and test rode one, ordered it on the spot. Should arrive this week or next and I'm so stoked. This was great review and one of the reasons I decided to go test ride one.
OC: That helmet is a nice gift. Glad to see different people from the shop experience the press launches of bikes. Definitely enjoyed Brian's perspective on this one.
Good honest review. I walked in to Ducati and ordered one ☝🏼 yesterday! I must admit though the Akra titanium full system is nearly $9000 AUD which is ludicrous and also the optional carbon winglets are $2230 AUD Hopefully you can get a long term test bike for us to see.
OC: Jealous of the sweet little helmet and impressed by Brian’s review. What a nasty little bike, but apparently usable whereas the V4S is just a monster
OC: I'm really happy Brian got to go on this trip. He does so much for the channel so it's nice to see him get to spend time on a bike that makes him happy. You may keep your helmet sir, but I want one now lol
Its cheaper than any of the Japanese literbikes... Ducati's aren't really expensive till you get to the V4 models, or the Diavel, etc... The Monsters and V2 models are actually pretty competitively priced...
@beanbun Insurance cost is often lower than the Japanese bikes. The reason is that the type of person who tends to buy the more premium brands, are older riders and they have less accidents and claims than the 22 year old Gixxer 600 crowd does, on average... I paid more insurance for a ZX6R than I did for an Aprilia Tuono V4 1100rr... Maintenance, the only real issue with this bike is the valves. Long intervals, but because the bike doesn't have a frame, its a pain in the dick to have to take the bike apart into two halves to do them...
Love my Streetfighter V4. No regrets at all. My only two quibbles are the seat comfort (not the best on long rides) and the absolutely deplorable fuel range. I'm lucky to hit 100 miles on a tank.

Hey mate! Amazing review, I really like your style! you just earn a new follower ;) I've a question tho. You mentioned the heat on the seat. When I did a test ride on a Panigale V2 a few weeks ago, I was very impressed by the bike but just after 30 mins, I was concerned by the massive amount of heat coming from the right side of it, cooking my leg. I was not wearing leather because I wanted to see if people on the internet were right about it, and they were. I really like the Streetfighter but I'm concerned it might suffer from the same problem. In your opinion, is the heat of the Streetfighter V2 comparable to the Panigale? and, in an ideal world, would it keep you from buying one? Cheers and thanks :)

I love the bike. It is priced high. A big part of that is the Ducati tax. Then again, the MT-10 SP is coming to the states for a price of about 15 grand. Bang for buck, considering power, performance, engagement, ridability, and reliability, I'd have to give it to the new XSR900 and the Kawasaki Z900.
