  • Ducati V2 Streetfighter is a bike I've been very excited to ride since its launch earlier in the year. I've spent quite sometime on its v4 brother but can 150 HP and a V-twin motor make a better road bike??

    I picked up my Streetfighter V2 a couple of weeks ago. I love it. My only gripes so far are the mirrors (pretty much useless), and the choppiness of the throttle at slow speeds. Other than those two minor details, I very much enjoy this bike.

    • @TazawaTanks

      @RBT THUNDER I go to a gas station when the fuel light comes on, or I just look or slosh. I fill up before longer rides anyway, even on my other bike with a fuel gauge.

    • @dom9882
      @dom9882 Год назад +2

      @RBT THUNDER You get used to it. My 959 Panigale doesn't have a fuel gauge. I just flip the tank cap and peak inside before I set off. Once the light comes on you have about 20km IIRC.

    Nice review Chops. I’m loving my V2SF. I took the V4S out several times before biting the bullet on the V2, but just found the V2 to be so much better on the road. The V4 was too much for the road, but is great for pub bragging rights! I’m getting the Akras fitted this week, so am looking forward to unleashing the full potential of the bike. And to all those moaning about the lack of fuel gauge, it really isn’t an issue. Just reset the trip meter on each fill up, and once you get used to the bike you’ll know how many miles it’ll do once the fuel light comes on.

      Things a ducati owner that doesnt have a fuel gauge says:
      “Aw i use the trip for the fuel”
      “Fuel guages are for pu***es”
      “Its weight saving”
      In all seriousness its due to the tank design and the complexity involved to engineer sensors to be accurate due to this. In short Ducati pick looks over functionality. Its utterly stupid there is no excuse.

    Hi Chopsy, love your channel. I rode the v4 and found it was a very comfortable and insanely quick when turning the taps on, but seemed quite ordinary at lower revs. I think the V2 is probably a more torquey engine better suited for mid range and obviously high reviving as well.Great channel ,converting a lot of my Swede friends in watching your channel.When you out next with Gregory the man 😂🚤🎶😍🇸🇪👍❤️🙏

    Dear Triumph: notice how Ducati shows odo, coolant temp, air temp speed, gear, mode, and time all on the same screen. Instead of one at a time. Heck, it even shows the state of the side stand sensor, that's awesome. However, it's very hard to say no to the Speed Triple's 1160cc engine, that linear power off the bottom is ridiculous, the engine is awake off-idle and no waiting to 7K rpms.

I know it's expensive but I have PCP mine and it works out about the same as second hand bikes I was looking at which have higher Apr rates, only pay 150 quid a month which I think is well worth it.

    Great vid Chopsy enjoyed that - brought a tear to my eye when you said I was your friend...sniff. Where was I, ah yes, interesting to see you and I both identified similar downsides to the bike but also interesting that we both came to completely different conclusions - given I'm not a hooligan like you I agree that (like the Pani V2) you probably get more out of it when you do rag it - though I'm not a fan of that on the road - but given the V4 is so much more powerful it's odd that Mr Sensible (me) enjoyed that bike so much more than this one! Just goes to show doesn't it....these are only opinions!! Ride safe mate.....

      @saifaldin_ 11 месяцев назад

      Ohlins does offer some advantages, but not much in terms of handling (for the street). I found that they react to small bumps better - this doesn’t affect the ride much in terms of comfort; slightly quieter road noise, and slightly plusher ride at slow speeds.. that’s about it. Another advantage is the tuning can be done at smaller increments - might benefit some riders for the track, but for the street, hardly important.
      Are they nicer? Yes.. slightly. Are they worth the extra price? Probably not.. although they do make the bike more desirable in the used market.

    Superb review chops. I looked at this bike as my new choice of mount but found some things lacking for the price [it's well overpriced]. Like you said no fuel gauge or cruise control. The dash is too small and vibey and that oil filler cap [who designed that needs shooting]. It is a lovely looking bike though but in the end I purchased a brand new Tuono 1100 V4 which was 1000 Euros cheaper [I live in France] so a no brainer for me. The Tuono has a ton more power and torque everywhere and has a fuel gauge.It also has the best sound in motorcycling this side of a Moto GP bike. I understand you can now buy the standard Tuono in the U.K for 14 grand now. That's an absolute bargain for what your getting. Anyway mate ride safe and take care.

    Still drooling over my sfv2 since owning this July & putting 3k of fun on the odometer. Oil topped up once using a price of tin foil as funnel without any drip issues. The reported vibe thru dash hasn’t proved to be a problem but understand there’s a bit at lower revs. Fuel gauge is ridiculous on a ‘23 bike but managed without any difficulty. The grin factor with this piece of art and Italian engineering is more than worth the very minor gripes.

      My mate has the speed triple and he felt he needed an akro fitted at 3.5k to give it as good a sound as my stock exh on the SF V2. The V2 is known to really wind up at 6.75-7k so lperforms better with higher revs rather than low end torque. However, it feels to me the balance just somehow feels perfect. By no means is it labouring at 5-6k. I’m stealing others words when I describe tge V Twin as a guttural feeling as opposed to the smoother triple. Both great bikes but think about what you want from the riding experience. I absolutely love the gut feeling from the V2’s almost prehistoric roar but others may love the smoothness of the triple. V twin for me!!

    Great review once again Chops. No idea how you manage to explore and share all these nuances while thrashing a bike thru traffic and countryside but appreciate all the great insights as usual 🙂
    Be great to see this one pitted against other that other notable italian middleweight rockstar the Brutale 800RR given that it also has very rev derived power in naked format - And perhaps against the KTM 890R which is also a very well specced mid weight naked and so far seems to have evaded your critical eye?! - Time trial of all 3 through the twisties would be a very interesting test

    Enjoyed the video because it presented both strengths and weaknesses, I am interested in this model although a bit disappointed it doesn't have a steel trellis frame, Ohlins suspension and better brakes.
    the floppy front end doesn't please either.

    Another brilliant Lamb Chops review of the Duck , my mates call me Chops too , but I think it’s a different thing ..
    LC reminds me of Poms who’ve moved out to Oz to live their best lives.
    Good sense of humour that only the English have , great piss-takers ,
    they love hucking up things to sell , love motorcycles & anything to do boating.
    Seem very happy to be in a warm climate riding bikes in cargo shorts , are just genuine happy chappie’s & all , I repeat all .. have the gift of the gab.
    so , they just make Australia a better place & after all they did invent us.
