The line-up of cream eye shadow crayons from Essence is a real game changer for me. Quick, inexpensive, convenient and creamy. Eye shadow and eyeliner in one. Love!
Wow. cream eyeshadows are a must have. Thanks for guiding us to products that have more play time. The brush you use to blend out the cream eyeshadows would also be needed. Glad you mentioned which brush you prefer using for blending ...have a great night! 🌠🌛
Thanks for the tips, Elle. I've recently discovered your channel and I love it. I also like the fact your tutorials include tips to get a quick make up job done. I'm 63 with hooded eyes and textured upper lids. Last year I bought Elf cream eyeshadows in little pots (nice but a little too shimmery for mature eyes) and later Kiko cream stick eyeshadows (great variety of shades) . I didn't really know how to use either, I mostly applied the Kiko ones like eyeliner. Now I'll try your approach! I also like cream eyeshadow because I have sensitive eyes and you don't get particles falling in the eyes. And no fallout on the cheeks. Cheers!
At 52, I like a fresh, almost monochromatic look lately. I don't have any cream eyeshadows, but today, I used Revlon Ultra HD Matt Lipcolor, in light mauve/pinkish color on my lids. I just dotted it on with the handy wand applicator, and then blended with my fingers, then set with a very light dusting of translucent powder and added a bit of grey eye shadow in the crease and outer corner. The finished look was amazing and lasted all day with no creasing!
You look fabulous! Thank you for helping us 50+ ladies who are challenged with eye shadow application. I've never used cream shadows before. I guess I'll have to get some and try it. You made it look so easy. Love your videos!
I love your easy, "no nonsense" approach to makeup and keeping OLDER ladies in mind. Not 15 steps, just practical, simple application steps for the busy woman. I am a fan. I want to try cream eyeshadows now! They are limited , very few brands carry them which blows my mind. There is a whole product line that all the "majors" are missing. I found an "off brand" on Amazon i want to try just cuz i can get a whole bunch of little pots that ae highly pigmented for 9.99. I can't go wrong. Thanks, Elle!
Elle Leary Artistry hey great vid. I have been a fan of cream shadows since Revlon came out with cream quads (illuminance cream I think). They apply super easily and quickly. And they stay put. Kind of a staple for me in the summer. Two shades, mascara, liner, done in like 2 minutes. I also love to use cream shadows as a primer, as I get some color and a smooth lid. A shimmery shadow is a great primer for a matte powder shadow too. Just a little pop. Thanks for the vid! Have a great day
i tried the same look with Charlotte purple cream shadow and bronser in the crease it is gonna be my vafourite now, I guess you are my fav youtube beautyguru now, cause I have same type of assymmetrical eyelids and avoided wearing eyeshadows all my life plus every product you recommend is amazing and tutorials are easy and detailed. thank u
I subscribe to a few other RUclips makeup channels but honestly after watching just four of your videos I have gained so much more great advice and confidence than from watching dozens of the others. The video you did on hooded eyes has totally changed the way I apply my eye makeup. Now I look so much more youthful and professional! My husband said just today that ppl are going to start mistaking me for his daughter not his wife...lol. It made me feel so great. I have the Sephora cream sticks but was a bit nervous as to how to best use them. This video has given me both the how-to as well as the confidence to play with them now. Thank you so much Elle! I love your channel! BTW, you look beautiful in all your videos. Got to find your tutorial on how to apply foundation and concealer. Your’s always looks flawless.
Thank you so much for the tips. I bought a Bobby Brown crème a short while ago because I knew it would look great on blue eyes. But I feel like I have been unsuccessful in it's use. I do appreciate all the tips for older ladies!
Thank You Thank You Thank You Elle!!!!! Your videos really help me you have no idea how much, you are so sweet thank you for helping us older ladies out . God Bless
It's your new fan Jane from the UK...once again my lovely amazing 👏...quick..detailed and to the point...nice short videos...you are fantastic x....love Jane Rochfort...North Wales UK 🇬🇧😀😊
I know this is an older video, but I’m just starting to get into makeup and I can’t even tell you how helpful this is. It’s been daunting to say the least, but your explanation and technique make it seem so straightforward - enough that I’m super encouraged and actually looking forward to tomorrow morning’s beauty run. Thanks so, so much.
Elle, thank you for this great tutorial! I have used Macs Groundwork on my 60 year old eyelids for years but will branch out to try some of the shadows you have suggested!
I just love ur videos more and more each time u post. U are just awesome and beautiful and so insightful and I just adore u. And u ALWAYS LOOK DO BEAUTIFUL..
I'm 24 and very low maintenance. Something I've always, always, ALWAYS admired about older women was how they did their eyeshadows. It looked so simple yet so elegant, however, I could never figure out how to recreate the look nor could I find any video tutorials... Everyone my age has such dramatic, complex eyeshadows that my hooded eyes can't take! So stumbling upon your channel for me is GOD SEND because this is exactly the look I've admired since I was a child and I am so, so, so excited to finally be able to try it on myself. Thank you so much for this timeless look, you look amazing!
I love the CT colour chameleon shadow sticks. I have dark pearl and amber haze. I just went on an overnight business trip and they were perfect to take with me along with the CT look in a palette.
I’m convinced and ready to try cream eyeshadows. I never had trouble with powder eyeshadow but now that I’m older (70) they’re not working for me. This video is very helpful, thank you! 💕
Elle, Cover Girl just announced that the brand is now cruelty free. Such an exciting announcement. More affordable cruelty free options and a ton of products for you to review now too.
Great tip. Looks beautiful on you. I am going to try. my eyelids are so wrinkled I'm 55 I had given up trying to wear eye shadows & been using a bronzer or blush instead .... I asked the question awhile back so, thank you!
Hi Elle great tip! I love using cream shadows alone and under powder shadows for staying power. I do recommend my mature clients to use cream just for the reason you showed, it is easy and gives a great look. xxoo
Hey Elle! Love cream shadows! Have bite and tarte but going to Sephora for a return tomorrow and going to check out theirs! Thx again! Stella video! Xo💋💋👍👍👍
Thank you for showing us how simple yet pretty cream eyeshadows are. I have a few and every time I go to try one, I always end up putting it away. Now I feel like I can conquer the world of cream eyeshadows. 💖
I just tried this...used Nude Stix and Trestique....WOW amazingly easy and looked so beautifully blended. I’m so glad I cam across this video and tried cream shadows!! Thanks so much!💄💋❤️
I never thought I could wear eyeshadow until I found the color tattoo line. They actually stay on my sweaty, oily lids that are hooded and tend to rub off all the color. I do not like how most of them are very glittery though, wish there were more mattes. Now Ive branched to powder eyeshadow with a good primer, but less staying power for me. I love the quick way cream shadow sticks apply and just got some. Mally has some nice mattes especially love Thistle, a purpley grey. And Cargo has their swimmables line and I like using Glacier as a sparkle just in the middle of the lid with a neutral like Sand from Mally. I'm not that great working quickly or messy so I have a tough time adding other colors at this point.
I tried the matt one in creme de rose I think and it made my eyes look so dry and crepe looking even though they don't usually look like that with powder shadow. I've got really deepset severely hooded eyes and I'm still trying to find good creme shadows. Maybelline do a metallic range too so may try them. The rimmel magnificent duo creme sticks are stunning! I heard good things about nyx sticks too
Great video! I absolutely love cream eye shadows. I never use powder ones. I hate the fall out mess and having to find a million different brushes. Shadow sticks are awesome, and you just need your fingers! 🤞
Omg!! Love it.. So easy..I never liked wearing any cream eyes shadows at all.. But as you said in your video, They blend & look beautiful💕 These beauty companies are all over the place with the amazing new cream shadows sticks. My gosh I loved your simple & easy way to apply it.. I gonna give them a try. Thank you.💕🌼🌸
Love, love, love this video. Such a simple idea, but duh, something we never thought of and makes SO much sense. Loving the Tip Tuesdays. You become more adorable - and informational - with every video. Thanks for looking out for us "mature ladies" - your content is among the best anywhere on RUclips. Thanks so much! - xx, Cindy & Carla from 2 Real Chicks Channel
Omg! I have those CT sticks had no clue how to use this. Absolutely gorgeous on you and yes I’m definitely trying this eye look tomorrow. Will let ya know Elle. Thank you soooo much for showing us how to use creams!!!
Elle Leary Artistry watching again girl! Hey Elle I’m been having issues with “thumb up” I always like your videos and will watch several times However when I come back to watch again it doesn’t show I pushed👍. So I push it again. Anyway I’ve gone back and checked as many as I can and sure enough it doesn’t show I 👍. It seems to work the second time though. Just an FYI.
Hi Elle, I know you’re enjoying your camping trip (fingers crossed) but when you get a chance.... here’s my question: I have soooo many powder shadows but I feel cream shadows are best for my old tired eyes...is there a way I can make my powder shadows creamy? Thank you💋💕
Oooh, Love love love what you just showed, I can totally do messy🤣👍🏻😜 I have been using my chubby stick blush cream not only on my cheeks, but also on my eye lids, using my finger. Will try to get some other colors to use and blend w my blush stick! Very cool tip/idea for mature eyes! You are I think one of the best, no nonsense make up artists here on youtube!👍🏻☺️❤️THANK YOU!
I adore you! Thank you so much for doing this video. I love the idea of cream shadows. Tbh I have a ton of them, I always am buying them because the concept intrigues me. BUT I’ve never ever used one of them 🙄 I for the life of me have no idea why. This gave me a place to start and I think I am going to finally put some of my cream shadows to use!!! If you want to do any more eye look tutorials on this that would be great!!
Such a lovely look and so easy. You mentioned the Charlotte Tilbury stick you used as Dark Pearl but also mentioned and listed it as Amethyst. Which one is it? I want to order the right one and as they are spendy, I’ll only be getting one at first. Thank you for sharing!
Yes! Cream eye shadow is definite my my favorite now that I'm a little older. I love pallettes but they can be overwhelming at times. Mally Beauty and Clinique chubby sticks also make some great cream shadow sticks. XOXO
It looks like you have been doing your eye makeup for hours...Just beautiful!!!Have you tried Revlon #710 Not Just Nudes Creme shadows?? I would love to see how you work on it.
I love, Love, LOVE that you share tips for the middle age ladies.
thanks love
I love that video on creme shadows! I have some that I haven't used much. Now I will give it a try.
The line-up of cream eye shadow crayons from Essence is a real game changer for me. Quick, inexpensive, convenient and creamy. Eye shadow and eyeliner in one. Love!
Thank you! I have never layered mine like that, with the light one all over first, I will give that a try! 💗 Lisa

Andrea Sanford which eyelid primer do you use and do you set it with your first cream shadow?
OMG this may be the answer to my shadow fallout problem! Thank you :)
❤️❤️❤️
Great video! I absolutely love cream eye shadows. I never use powder ones. I hate the fall out mess and having to find a million different brushes. Shadow sticks are awesome, and you just need your fingers! 🤞
Cream shadows are also really good for people with chronic dry eyes. The fallout on powder shadows is the biggest irritation for dry eyes.
Hallo from Germany! i love cream eyeshadows! it is so easy to use..By Terry, CT and Laura Mercier are my favorites.
yes those are great ones!! xoxo
Love cream shadows. I always get compliments when I wear them!
yesssssss!!!!!

Hi Elle, I just love cream eyeshadows!! 😊 I also love them from Charlotte Tilbury and Laura Mercier but Nars and Bobbi Brown have some good ones too!

I definitely need to try some cream shadows. I’m trying to do more “one and done” type looks. I’m still learning tho.
Can't wait to try this technic.
You are I think one of the best, no nonsense make up artists here on youtube!👍🏻☺️❤️THANK YOU!
that means a lot to me thank you so much!! xoxo
Love. Now I need more cream eye shadows. Can you show us this using metallics?
So pretty! x
Thank you! 😊
Such a lovely look and so easy. You mentioned the Charlotte Tilbury stick you used as Dark Pearl but also mentioned and listed it as Amethyst. Which one is it? I want to order the right one and as they are spendy, I’ll only be getting one at first. Thank you for sharing!
I use both but the amethyst all the way
Yes! Cream eye shadow is definite my my favorite now that I'm a little older. I love pallettes but they can be overwhelming at times. Mally Beauty and Clinique chubby sticks also make some great cream shadow sticks. XOXO
ohhhh yes!!! xo
It looks like you have been doing your eye makeup for hours...Just beautiful!!!Have you tried Revlon #710 Not Just Nudes Creme shadows??
I would love to see how you work on it.
yes they are great!
Eye challenged... Thanks for the great tutorial. My eyes are sooo sensitive that I prefer creamy shadows no fallout.
