The revlon and maybeline cream shadows really surprised me. I just used a finger. I didnt like the charlotte tillbury one that people talked about because it creases so bad. I heard great things about the kiko sticks.
I’m so glad for this video. I’m one of those women who really never gets past applying one shadow at a time. So many great brands, shades and methods of applications to try. I have to go shopping now. This was so very useful - thanks 😊
@@TamarasTimelessBeauty I was so glad that we didn't have any crossover! I recently bought that Elf stick too and it blended away to nothing and went into the trash immediately!
Dupe for the Giorgio Armani “Cold Copper” is RMS cream shadows (in the tube) in either Strobe or Blaze. They are heaven to work with, feel hydrating on and have great staying power. You get a lot of volume and would be hard pressed to run out. Also, the Ulta matte formula is wonderful as a base and then alternate different shimmer/foil toppers on top on just the mobile lid…basically anything from the Natasha Denona I Need a Nude palette. That one extra step takes your basic shadow to amazing, but a subtle look and looks like you spent 1/2 an hr doing your eyes, not under 1 minute 🙌🔥
I am new to your channel from Hooded lid. She is amazing. I need to binge watch you. Ha. Love one and done. I’m 60 it’s refreshing to see others our age. Always love affordable shadows as well
New viewer here, this is JUST what I was looking for. Became a subscriber right away 😊 love your swatches and letting us know what is good or bad about each of them. I am the same age as you and love all the same colors you do! TY!
I really enjoyed the variety of cream eyeshadows you tested. I’m going to get the Ulta and the Revlon to try for myself. I’ve been using a color stick by Belle Beauty Called Shero in a mocha and a pink color. They work well with finger or brush blend. I’m looking forward to your next video. BTW thank you for sharing other channels you watch. You have the best recommendations. Be well!
I love the collabs you do - you have such a positive channel. Makeup is really foreign to me - but I do like watching them, maybe someday I will go out of my comfort zone and try some makeup. Happy Birthday Kiki :) Thank you for sharing your love of makeup, Tamara :) xo
Thanks for putting in so much effort & detail! Going to look into two of them. My all-time favorite is Clinique Chubby Stick in Fuller Fudge. Stays & easy to use. Beautiful on blue eyes too.
One and done eyeshadows are my favorite!! I didn’t like the L’Oréal either, for me they looked way to glittery, though that one isn’t as glittery as their colors! You know I LOVE Charlotte Tilbury
I get better results when i layer a powder shadow over my elf sticks. But my faves are Bobbi Brown. Super blend-able, but long wearing. Matte and shimmer choices. Pricey, but worth it!
Thank you for this lovely video. It’s great to have the list of a number of eyeshadows that I can try. The colours are my colours I love as well. One and done is for me.
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but too often Elf products don’t work well for me. I have found that investing in the right shade of a higher priced product is often a better use of my money.
Very interesting! I have an elf long-wearing stick shadow on today, and I’m really very impressed with it. I’m going back for more colors. Easy to apply, looks great and stays on. Maybe you tried the wrong color? Just a thought.
Most ELF products have insufficient pigment. That may be because it helps keep the prices low, but it defeats the the purpose of why women use cosmetics.
I don’t have much experience with Elf cosmetics, have just tried a few things…one being a cream shadow stick, which is a pale color and too glittery, and performs just ok, nothing special. I do, however, love some of the Elf skincare products!
I love one and done shadows . I have 3 of Ulta matte ones and there is a new one that is shimmery that’s nice . I love the Victoria Beckham and LM and Bobbi brown ones
Love cream eyeshadows - they are so easy for a quick one and done. I have the Nudestix, but the first time I used them I didn’t like them. I just pulled them out again and will try again. The mini trio I purchased were Nudity, Bright Eyes, and Taupe. I swatched them on my arm and they are gorgeous. Love your videos.
Great colorful video! Thank you for the excellent review and recommendations. I'm adding the Giorgio Armani to my cart! It's a beautiful color indeed. Have a great day.
I purchased the 24 hour Revlon cream eyeshadow in black currant because we have the same colouring. Oh my goodness I am so glad I did!!! Love, love it with a bit of Catching from the Essence palette Like to Mauvit, as a liner and a coat of mascara, I may never wear another eyeshadow look again!!
I just ordered the Cold Copper ! I remember Steph talking about how great it is and now you so I caved. I also second the C Tilbury cream shadows. BEAUTIFUL!! I have 4 and I’m wearing Amber Gold as a one and done today -applied with my fingers. You really cannot mess those up. They are stunning alone or under/with powder eyeshadows. LOVE!
Thank you Tamara, I love anything to do with eyeshadow I do have a few cream ones that I love which are different to yours and I use them because they are so easy to apply. Hugs Bea
Thank you for your channel! I appreciate your generosity 😊. I tried the Laura Mercier sticks and they DID NOT work well on me. They clumped up and made my eyelids look really crepey. I’ll give some of your other recommendations a try. 😁
I knew you would love the Revlon ( I have 4, and have to get a 5th one in the one you are wearing lol) and the CT , they are so lovely . The Mac paint pots are amazing .. I use the color painterly as an eyeshadow base, my HG! for about 10 years , can’t live without it .. I have colors in the Laura Mercier and Bobbi brown , so easy peasy , see you next week
Hi Sue! The Revlon really is so good...and that color! So pretty. You will love it. I''m definitely picking up a Mac Paint Pot or two during the 21 Days of Beauty. Happy Sunday! ❤️
There’s new shades of the Elf shadow sticks and I got two of the darker ones. I have a dark teal and a cool brown called Cool Beans. These seem to have a good pigment load. They won’t replace my go-tos, but fill in gaps in my collection.
Funny, The Hooded Lid is NOT my favorite creator~ I don't know what it is~ lol part of it is I dislike her chanel name, I know, silly reason~her real name Kiki is cute though. No biggie, just my opinion. It's taken me longer to warm up to Tamara even also, but we're getting there lol. Lol Tamara and I love Sephoras Best Skin Ever Foundation and Milani's cream blush in the round packaging. Think it's just that Tamara is gray and I'm long highlighted golden blonde hair~ we're just very different. It's all good.
I've watched The Hooded Lid and have enjoyed. I have the exact color in Revlon you're wearing. Its a unique color. I recently tried the Smashbox cream shadow in a tube in Olive. Beautiful color. Marla showed it on her chanel. Im not surprised GA shadow stayed on all day. I love that brand for foundation too. Thanks for Ulta reminder on Nudestix. Have a great wk yourself Tamara🍂🍁🍃
Hi Tamara. Just wanted you to know how much I've been enjoying your videos! You did an excellent review on the C.T. foundation!! It was lovely watching you apply makeup on you dear Auntie. Jim's surgery was postponed due to the need for staffed Covid beds. He was scheduled the 12th of January. Anyway, I'm still taking a break, watching my favorite RUclipsrs, giving the good ole thumbs up, but not commenting. You really are an amazing person. Blessings...MaryEllen
Aww...thank you for such a lovely comment. I am so sorry to hear Jim's surgery was postponed. One of my friends had her fem pop bypass cancelled twice! My Aunt Sara who lives next door (not my Aunt Mary Jo in the video) had a Knee Replacement November 22 and her surgery was the very last elective surgery they performed before cancelling all electives...it was a miracle she squeaked in. She had one knee done in August and the other in November, and her thoughts were it was much easier to have the surgery in the warmer months because she was able to get outside and walk when it wasn't cold, snowy and icy. Anyway, Darn covid! Enjoy your much deserved break, I have my notification bell on for your channel...looking forward to seeing you again when you are ready. And once again, thank you for visiting and for your sweet comment.
I like some of the lighter shades in Maybelline (esp Socialite) and Revlon pot shadows, and the Eye Glosses from REM, those are so beautiful but they don’t completely set. I have a lot of the shadow sticks from Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier, and find them to be inconsistent or very dependent on what’s under them. Some oxidize and get patchy and just look awful after a few hours. Worn alone on bare dry skin, usually no problems, but over certain moisturizers and sunscreen, not good. The Elf shadow sticks are ok, I have one. Not thrilled enough to buy more. I’d like to try the Charlotte Tilbury cream shadows, and Chanel just came out with an eye gloss, just a few gold shades, as part of their holiday release. You can wear it on the lids, but also brush it onto the tips of your lashes! And I’ve heard that the Sephora Collection shadow stick is decent. And…I’m almost done here….Supergoop has cream eyeshadows that contain SPF,I have one, it’s very nice. I wish more would come with SPF.
I use the Revlon Colorstay two ways, either on its own (I use my own brush for putting on “creamy” things rather than my finger) or I use it as a base like a primer and put a powder eyeshadow over it either in a comparable shade to intensify it or a companion color. Either way this is a great product!
Thanks for all of the suggestions Tamara. I watched this some time ago but was watching Kiki’s video and watched this again 😊 I told Kiki that the Chantecaille Mermaid Eyeshadows have some great one and don’t shades. I purchase them when Chantecaille has a sale.
I can’t recommend the Milani eyeshadow sticks enough. Great colors, super soft, highly pigmented. My eyelids are thin and crepey so I won’t use a cream that drags. These are so easy to just scribble on and go. The color Marble is my absolute favorite eye color product and that’s saying a lot considering how much eye color I own!
I loved the ELF formula and it goes on so smooth but I was allergic. Magnetic Pull is the same color as Thrive muna. I love the formula of a eye shadow stick that I can just swipe on to use as a quick eye liner so will have to try another brand. At least i only had $5 investment.
I have the Laura Mercier burnished bronze eye shadow stick. I love this color! Then I finally bought the CT eyes to mesmerize cream shadows. I bought Walk of No Shame, a new color that is simply gorgeous. Also I got Copper Sunrise, which is limited edition and was very hard to get. They are both just beautiful. I have used them as a base for powder eyeshadows or on their own. They are expensive but I just love the look.
I have the L'Oréal one too and didn't work so well either. I have very few eyeshadow sticks, although they are super easy to apply. I'm a neutral gal too! 😉 Have an awesome week! 💗
Really enjoyed the video. Those are all my favorite eye shadow colors. I have been using a taupe Clinique crayon for several years. I love the Revlon Black Current that you demonstrated. Just added it to my Ulta bag. Thanks so much.
Oooooo that Revlon one in black currant is soooo pretty! I've always been a klutz with eye shadows but I might have to play around with that one. Also gonna check out the Hooded Lid channel. Thank you Tamara! 🤗❤
Really enjoyed this video. I am in my mid-50s and have mostly switched to cream blushes, but have never tried a cream eyeshadow. Do you find they stay on as well as powder eyeshadows? Do you use an eye primer before applying? Thanks for sharing all of this information. BTW, your skin is beautiful!
Nice video! I love cream eyeshadows. Catrice has some very nice ones, although the shades are limited. I think my favorite though is Mac Paint Pots. You get so much product in those pots and they have quite a few colors to choose from. Glad to hear your review of the shadow sticks. I was going to pick up some elf ones, but after your review, I will pass. :)
I enjoyed the one and done because it's all I have time for when I do wear eye makeup. I realize this was more of an overview. However I would have liked to see you try on, at least on 1 eyelid, your favs. I'm 61 yrs old and my skin on my eye lid is delicate. I would never think to use a crayon eye makeup stick because of this. I would have like to see how the makeup actually applied to the eye. I may have seen that crayons have changed and now go on smoother. Just using this as an example I&
This is by far my favorite video on cream/liquid shadows!! As I’m getting ready to turn 30 later in the month I find myself reaching for more natural shades and products. I tried the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to mesmerize and now I want everything cream 😂 This helped a lot, thank you!! 💜💜
Your hair is just gorgeous. Oh, I would love to try the cream…but they always seem to cake up on me. I’ve always purchased the higher end brands. The Black Currant shade is beautiful. Maybe I need to give the drug store a go. I enjoy your colabs!
The revlon and maybeline cream shadows really surprised me. I just used a finger. I didnt like the charlotte tillbury one that people talked about because it creases so bad. I heard great things about the kiko sticks.
