Jeff crack the plate loose without lifting it high enough for the check balls to come out, use a putty knife if you have to. Slide plate off the side, don't lift it up.
I've tried the air pressure test at 19.09 but while my the normally open solenoid are closing when enrgised, the normally closed ones do not open when energised. Ohm test ok on all. Getting 7 ohms on nc ones and 28.9 on no solenoids.
by the way this is the best ZF fault diagnosis compared to most who just test solenoids , where can I download the image manual for the orphices locations?
Hi Jeff, I also rebuild the transmission and valve body on 5HP19 thanks to your videos. Everything is great with the exception of a hard shift going from park to drive. This is the only issue, and shifting is smooth through all gears. Would you know what may be the issue?
Hi mate! Thanks for a nice explanation. I've been researching for my from time to time harsh shift between 2nd and 3rd on my 5hp19. it seems from a diagram that shifting those gears makes clutch G to go OFF and clutch F to go ON and solenoid MV1 to go OFF and what's most important EDS3 to go OFF. maybe in my case that pressure damper rubbery thing is off somewhere. My transmission other than that works great, all gears up and down seem to be fine, TC lockup seems to be fine...it's only that 2nd to 3rd which annoys me. Oh, and when it's 0 celsius and below, when I shift to Drive it's harsh. but only then and once. Also, I'd really appreciate if you could recommend any trusted source I could buy those damper plugs...can't find them anywhere in the UK! Thanks a lot!

You can use reamers to use oversize shuttle valves and plugs.
