2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee Heater Won't Switch Temperature

This 2010 Grand Cherokee is in because the heater won't switch from hot to cold. The blend door shaft is broken. Dorman makes a relocation kit to move the actuator to the other side of tge heater case.

All that work for a piece of plastic never had that problem in the 60's and 70's , it was all cables and sliders on the dash so simple .

So was that heater box originally designed to mount that actuator on either side possibly for a country that uses right side steering?

The heater box is designed for dual zone so it has the mounting bosses for the passenger temperature control. If this had been a dual zone system then this fix would not work.
