So he insults her work, her fan base, her intelligence "what are they, just freaks?" he says. They are great, very passionate, very loyal. she says... and very unemployed... he says. Your kind of a loser...but thats okay...she says Interview is over.... Well...I guess trekkies are an easy target. Props to Jeri Ryan for sticking by her fans!
I know she's hot, but didn't realize how gorgeous she is until I see this... how is Craig Killborn have a talk show. He's boring, in this interview he doesn't seem to have a clue of what he's talking about, and he resorts to take a somewhat generalized view of people that watches Star Trek can only be geeks (one and proud of it) and decided just to bash them because he might think that's how the public would react best to.
I have seen plenty of people make fun of Trekkers in a good way, but this wasn't it. He didnt even bother to learn the most basic things about his guest. Then he tried to get her to call her fans weirdos. I saw something similar with Kate once, and she just held her ground and defended her fans. One ended up with almost no useful information, no interesting conversation, only an attempt to get a cheap laugh at the expense of the fans. What a horse's ass that guy is.
Shes great, not only polite, but great, when she described the Star Trek fans as passionate and loyal. That host had no idea at all abou what she was doing there. "Are you a vulcan? Are you the Spock?" The way he tries so hard to be funny is really annoying. Somethimes ignorance is not a blessing I guess.
Loved Seven of Nine, her character was intelligent as well as beautiful. Voyager needed something to keep it going and to help it develop more interesting plots. Scorpion, Dark Frontier, some of Janeway's best scenes were played opposite Seven of Nine. It helped flesh her out as a devoted and courageous Captain and because of all the following encounters with the Borg, she also became the Captain/Admiral who crippled them. Seven was an invaluable character to the series.
Just think about it, usually when great individuals talk about their primary inspirations - it's occasionally their mother, but it usually also includes other thinkers, mentors, philosophers, artists, teachers, friends, leaders, contemporaries, etc, etc. Especially as they grow older. Mothers may bear children, but great thinkers bear ideas that effect entire civilizations and societies.
Kilborn was soooo sure he was going to be the next letterman. He even joked about Jon Stewart getting to ride the daily show into the ground because it would obviously crash after he left. A decade later and nobody even knows who Craig Kilborn was, expect if you used to watch Sports Center maybe....
I remember seeing something where some cell phone designer said that some of their ideas came from the days when they watched the original star trek series.
When I first saw the Borg on Star Trek TNG, I thought OK, So they got a bunch of shopping carts in the LA riverbed, took them to a recycler, smashed them into a cube, painted them black, and put Christmas lights on it. And it nearly took over the Enterprise and the universe for two seasons. Then Jeri Ryan came along, on Voyager, and changed my perspective of the Borg. I ended up actually liking and respecting the Borg now. Because I have good reason to do so. Jeri is the bomb! Mike in Fresno, Ca
The host clearly doesnt know anything about or have any interest in star trek; seems like he's just using a pretty face like Jeri's to garner more interest for the show from idiots that actually watch programs based on how attractive the people in them are.
I noticed these starlets kept coming back for interviews which meant he was doing something right. Kilby was just better than Fergwad or Stewwart. He was much more entertaining doing those shows and not Short, Ugly & Swarthy.
why am I stupid? just because I dont think like you? OMG i forgott you are northamerican, you dont allow different opinions I am sorry, please dont invade my country now :p
That wasn't what he meant. He does explain what he was on about. There are specific character types throughout the show eg Kirk, Riker & Paris are similar in some ways.
Furthermore, it doesn't really follow that if one thing is the mother for another it must be superior. Humans evolved from primates, but of course I'm sure you don't think that must mean primates are superior to humans. Glass comes from sand, but of course that doesn't mean sand must be superior to glass. I don't doubt that mothers are important, but I also don't doubt the importance of the individual or the great thinker or mentors that inspired them
"It's my theory that God created women to make up for his first mistake, MEN." I think their is plenty of evidence to counter that claim - consider that most of the greatest people in history have been men. But, this is probably because the majority of societies have existed as patriarchies - societies where women would lack power and oppurtunities. However, if God does exist, and does not favor men, you must admit it is questionable why he would allow them to accomplish so much to begin with.
i never used to be a trekkie infact i rmr when i was little i couldnt stand star trek, now, i regret saying tht and missing those shows... now i watch repeats because the star trek series, all of them are fucking brilliant. Its so nice to just sit down for a while and get lost in an episode of star trek, my favs are the next generation and voyager
Personally, in my opinion, their is not much point in saying one gender is greater or inferior than another. It is like saying blue objects are better than red objects. The criteria for what makes one object better than another has to do with far more than color. Likewise, what makes one human great or not probably has to do with far more than what gender it is.
Craig Kilborn is hilarious. He can actually talk to [hot] women and make them laugh and smile and get into him. He also has a sense of humor. If you're bashing him you're probably just jealous that he can do that with hot chicks and you can't. You might want to take some notes and learn from him.
@FLAME4564 i don't know for you, but i worship fictional character - seven of nine and do not worship jerri. jerri is woman like others, but seven is something special, something unattainable what we can be just our desire and nothing more.
She's rad.... but I have to point out, with her claiming to be a huge Duran Duran fan... "Girls On Film" that he mentioned actually was on the first album, while Rio came out 2 albums later. I'm kinda sorry that I know that, but oh well.
I think I like her personality as a borg better. Hah But then again I could care less about celebrities. I mean, not like I would ever befriend one, marry one, or possibly even meet one. They exist only on the television to me! :P
LOL seven of nine looks far more hawter compared to xena infact both the character of Seven of nine and jeri ryan are more better than xena therefore Xena n her actor have nothin on seven of nine and jeri ryan.
I just happened on this clip. Jeri Ryan (used to be Lynn Zimmerman) but she is a beautiful woman. I remember her from school and being in girl scouts with her in Paducah, KY. She was always someone to admire...
She is quite a beautiful woman, but I do also appreciate her acting ability, No, seriously, I do. I bet you think i'm full of crap, but I like her character very much.
@petrashin1941 actualy its the oppisate cuz without the beutiful Jerri Ryan the Seven Of Nine character we all know and love in star trek voyager wouldent exist
It's easy to make fun of Star Trek fans. And I find it easy to just mentally just dismiss these jerks with "you're a much bigger douchbag than I could ever be".
So he insults her work, her fan base, her intelligence
"what are they, just freaks?" he says.
They are great, very passionate, very loyal. she says...
and very unemployed... he says.
Your kind of a loser...but thats okay...she says
Interview is over....
Well...I guess trekkies are an easy target. Props to Jeri Ryan for sticking by her fans!
In what world are Star Trek fans largely unemployed? Engineers, scientists, computer programmers... they probably skew rich.
I'm impressed by how knowledgeable she was at the beginning of her 7 of 9 part.
She is more cool than she is beautiful, which would seem virtually impossible.
What I love about Jeri Ryan is that she just seems so fun and wacky and has a great sense of humour.
Geez, could you make the video quality any worse? I've seen recordings from the 1950s that are better quality than this.
I know she's hot, but didn't realize how gorgeous she is until I see this... how is Craig Killborn have a talk show. The worst interview I've ever seen!
This was filmed with a potatoe
she is so worthy of all admiration. i hope she continues to have success.
The host is a genius. He insults 90% of the audience.
You have a strange idea of what it is to be a "genius" . . .
Ever heard of sarcasm?
That's not "genius" . . . That's "Asshole" . . .
Damn Jeri is nothing but smoking hot!!! Just crazy hot...and she seems so normal too.
Shes got that Denise Richards mixed with Rachel McAdams look
Rachel McAdams, that's the one .I was trying to remember who she resembled.
JR intelligently answered his close-to-rude stupid questions. way to go Jeri! i love you! we're both music fans of the 80s.
I can't believe he asked WHY Jeri Ryan's character was called Seven of Nine! This dude needs to do his research!
look at those lovely funbags....
someone got triggered.
I remember seeing something where some cell phone designer said that some of their ideas came from the days when they watched the original star trek series.
Jeri Ryan handled herself really well. Good on her!
When I first saw the Borg on Star Trek TNG, I thought OK, So they got a bunch of shopping carts in the LA riverbed, took them to a recycler, smashed them into a cube, painted them black, and put Christmas lights on it. Jeri Ryan you will be assimilated.
Resistance is futile.
Seven of Nine was SO cool she actually overcame my innate hatred for women who are MUCH more beautiful than me and made me like her
WTF!?!?! I leave for three days to fight Hollows and come back to weird gossip like this?? I'd rather deal with the Hollows.

Girls On Film, "later" Duran Duran? It was only their third single! Seriously Jeri?
LOL seven of nine looks far more hawter compared to xena infact both the character of Seven of nine and jeri ryan are more better than xena therefore Xena n her actor have nothin on seven of nine and jeri ryan.

Speaking of fainting, if I were told by Jeri Ryan that we were a "perfect fir" that's exactly what would happen to me. :)
“Girls on Film” was Duran Durans later stuff???? It was the 3rd single off of their first album?
Jeri is amazing. This host, however, is not worthy of assimilation. He would detract from perfection.
She is quite a beautiful woman, but I do also appreciate her acting ability, No, seriously, I do. I bet you think i'm full of crap, but I like her character very much.

I think you got your negative marks for language and not the fact that poeple don't agree with you. LOL
i haven't a clue who he is and I bet most scifi fans out there are way more successful than he is. Even with a talkshow he's still not known.
Man she looks great.
weird to see her as a real person. when he said 'u have a lot of lipstick lesbian fans?' I expected her to say 'that is irrelevant' lol
I hate the way ignorance is respected because he is interviewing someone who is not off the new Art nuvo Jewish-Italian directed romance.
I'm sorry. I was making a sarcastic comment on KoN69's homophobic comments. If you look at what his comments, you'll understand.
Whatever happened to this jag off? He is flipping awful in this interview. Hopefully he is fire forever. btw, she is unbelievable!
Is that how you react everytime a woman rejects you? No wonder your angry. You'll never get lucky with that hateful attitude.
I am so in love with Seven of Nine..
err... Jeri Ryan
Jeri Ryan is gorgeous.
However, Voyager was pretty awful, TNG and DS9 are the best.
@Janpeanut
My dad has a Chinese student who calls herself seven, he calls her seven of nine. She dosn't get it.
Who is this guy, and does he still even have a job? I've never seen or heard of him pretty much ever.
Jeri is soo Funny! I just love her!
@Bellocks1 Yeah, too bad she's a prude in the bedroom. No 3somes? How B-O-R-I-N-G, jeri. haha
@petrashin1941
Jerri Ryan and 7 of 9 is irrelevant, we worship her form fitting uniform.
So this is the woman who helped ( IN A HUGE WAY) Barack Obama get elected President.....
So very yummy.. there's one ^%$#ing lucky frenchman walking around.. $%#$ing frenchy!!
whats she doing at the end, my wife!!! must talk to her about those last seconds ;)
Where are you now?
I agree - Whoever he is, he's awful. Rude and disrespectful. Jeri is wonderful!!
She will always be 6 of 9 to me. I guess you fail to see the humor in that.
Man o Man O Chavis is she smokin' out of costume!
Now I remember why Craig Kilborn got canceled...
I like her borg deep voice better then her normal voice
do you have the Kim Smith interviews?
@BloodofPatriots That's just inconsiderate, isn't it?
Yea.... wow.... no wonder I didn't recognize the show
I think that man is dead. If not...
LOL all of a sudden the host can't talk. hee hee
Seriously!!! What a jerk!!! He is kind of a pig
he was definitely making fun of star trek fans
jerri ryan is irrelevant, we worship 7 of 9.
She called him a loser at the end. Gotcha!
If she's the "Spock", what's Tuvac's role?
I love u Jeri Ryan...Will u marry me...???
Yep, wanker is the word lol
All hail Jery!!!!Resistance is futile!!!!
so much for blondes she is so not stupid
she isnt really beautiful!
Exactly Jeri Ryan is a real lady...
she'd make a better talk show host.
Not the best thing! Just kidding...
The host really doesn't know much
Marlon Pagtakhan?
@petrashin1941 lol
she looks better as 7 of 9 (O:)
Boo Killborn! Boooooo!
This Host is a complete joke.
Jeri Ryan > Not Jon Stewart
not gonna say I blame you
liezzz voyager was great
