@@yagamilight64 the problem with hair transplants are one is never enough, you have to keep going back year after year to keep getting it done as although some hair regrows Alot does at first but then stop again so you have to go back, so unless you have tens of thousands of £a /$ every year it's not really a viable option. Lots of celebs who get the hair transplants spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on them over the years, some look better yes but Alot don't really look much better, the hair never grows back thicker it's very wirery, it's about being confident and happy with you! I don't believe throwing money at hair transplants will make anyone any happier to be honest. “Main Character syndrome” is a real thing. Most people think that everyone is watching and judging their every move when in reality no one really cares…at all. Once I learned that my life improved 10 fold. Thanks for this video man!
Many people care about you, for a little seconds or minutes at least. And those little seconds and minutes can make the difference between you building a depression and/or social anxiety or not.
don't listen to him. balding matters. the bald are THE MOST discriminated against minority group on the face of the planet. folically-challenged people face hate crimes and ridicule on a daily basis. it maybe on a dating site: "bald = no response", a job interview "when the hat comes off and they see the bald head and send you packing", etc. as chairman of the anti-balding defamation league I'd like all bald individuals to join our movement for equity and respect. we're forming the baldetariat to overthrow and scalp those who oppress us.
@@parnpichate Yeah man, best thing I ever did was shave my head. Much better look for most people imo unless you really don't care either way and just own it.

I come to terms with it and joke about it (haha, steel hair, gives more armor) but I wished I knew back then what I know now, not stressing about age, accomplishments and what I could have already done and reached with 25.

Im 18 and I started balding when I was like 14. That is pretty fucking early and it is very visble and I feel very insecure about it. Videos like this give me courage that I will be able to be happy without hair at some point. Thank you for sharing your story. Balding in your teen years can effect your menatl healt greatly.
in exactly the same situation as you dude. started balding at 14, pretty noticeable too. Idk where you are but im in the UK, and British schools can be brutal. i never got picked on but someone mentioned it once or twice. i dont think it was in a nasty way, and i shouldve just owned it... but i didnt. Im in college now and im wearing a hair system, its really helped with my confidence, however theres just a part of me that wants to shave it all off. however, going from a hair system to bald.. i feel would shock people? i mean no one knows that im wearing a hair system, but honestly i just want to be bald lmao. i agree that balding in ur teen years can effect ur mental health greatly, however know that ur not alone. we can all be bald together lol

My son starting losing his hair immediately after he completed a 6 month cycle of Accutane for bad acne at the age of 16. He started Accutane at 15 years old with a full head of hair, After completing the 6 months at 16 years old his hair started to shed drastically. At 18 he started Finasteride. That did help the crown, but has not helped the receding hairline. He will be 21 years old next month and has talked about an FEU hair transplant in a year or so. I disagree that "nobody cares". There are a lot of cruel people who will make fun of someone losing their hair - even if you considered them your friend or girl friend.
@@Fred-ek6en Not too late for you bro. Hear me out I, you can fight androgenic alopecia (male hairloss) First of all you need to identify which kind of hairloss you got. Most guys will have androgenic alopecia (AA), but if you are unsure about it dermatologists are the doctors you should visit. If you are there, you should ask for a full androgenic hormone report. (Testosterone, Free Testosterone, FSH and LH) The doctor can read out of the data if your hormones are the cause of your hair loss. DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) kills your hair follicles by binding onto the androgen receptors in your skin on your head, and makes them thin until they are are permanently dead. So what can you do about it?: 1. You can block or reduce the amount of DHT binding in your skull by using finasteride or dutasterid. Consuming them orally is very easy, but it can decrease your quality of life by decreasing your systemically testosterone. They better variant would be a topical solution which you apply directly onto your skull so the amount of which will work its way into your system decreases heavily. It's just a matter of where you live on easily it is to obtain the topical variant. 2. You can use a research chemical called ru58841. It was only tested by the original founder in 2 phases of a 3 phase study. They had to quit it because they officially had no money to finish it. I just doubt that, because if its cheap and yielded great results, the market for AA - cures would collapse. It does basically the same thing finasteride does, but in an other way. Without reducing your androgenic hormones it blocks the androgen receptors by itself without lowering your own hormone levels. By mistreating dosages you also can gain the same side affects you'd get with fin and duta, because you'd stop more than the needed receptors to achieve the results you would want. 3. You should use a Ketoconazol shampoo. I know that its an anti fungal shampoo, but it does yield some benefits for AA by topically influencing how the dot reacts in your skin. Before rinsing it thoroughly out, it should stay in between 5-10 minutes. Afterwards, you should use conditioner to hydrate your scalp and condition your hair. I suggest it as an instant treatment, because it is cheap and you can test out if you are prone to active ingredients entering past your scalp skin. 4. You should use minoxidil. It was originally invented for treating blood pressure, but a side effect was severe hair growth by increasing the supply of blood for hair follicles. If you have longer hair you should use the liquid variants, and if you have shorter hair you can use the foam. Alcohol based treatments have more potency than oil based, but also dehydrate the skin more. All oil based cost at least double, and are very hard to find, at least where I live. You can use this wherever you want to use it, as long as you stay within the daily dosage limits, keep in mind it can still change your blood pressure because their is always a percentage of product will go beyond skin. What I mean with that is, you are lacking eyebrows - apply it. You are lacking beard - apply it. Even if you want chest hair to feel more manly - apply it. You can literally double the results if you use it in a combination with micro needling. Its important to know that you should invest some money into a derma pen, not a derma roller. The pen goes straight into your skin, while the roller goes in at an angle and comes out in a different one and creating a triangle shaped tear in your skin and cause scarring. Scarring leads to irreparable loss of hair. But always be cautious derma pens can do that aswell, but you have much more control to prevent it. Anecdotal treatments: 1. Oral used castor oil. Be aware that incorrect dosages can lead to the same effects laxatives would give you. You can apply it topically but orally it will work much better in nurturing your hair and give it a thicker and denser appearance. 2. Biotin. Its basically Vitamin B7 which will impact the quality of of your hair and nails. (You can use collagen too, but studies have shown that Biotin is far superior.) 3. Don't use harsh shampoos, because they will dry out your scalp. You need to hydrate it in order for it to function properly. You can buy cheap oils everywhere to put them in your hair as a mask, leave it in for at least 10 minutes and rinse it out. My suggestions: You can either use fin, duta or ru but not a combo because it would just make your life miserable. It either doesn't work in combination or goes way to much systemically which will kill your hormone levels. Its just too much. You definitely should use minox, and it even be better if you combine it with micro needling. You should use the Ketoconazol shampoo around twice a week for just a little extra push. If you buy the cheap ones you definitely need to use conditioner. The expensive ones have active ingredients in it which make your hair hydrated and pleasant to look at. And if you currently can't afford fin/duta/ru or want to slowly get into unknown waters its a good starter. To the anecdotes, you can use them and it will benefit you, but they will never be enough on their own. If you can afford it, it will help you, but if not focus on hydrating your scalp rather than buying vitamins. My routine: This is a lot of information and can be quite overwhelming. If you need a starting point I share my routine with you. Keep in mind that already killed off follicles can't be resurrected. I'm currently in search for ru, but its really not easy to obtain where I live, and we don't have an approved topical fin here too, but nonetheless I achieved great results so far. As with everything in live the dosage is what kills you, so don't rush anything and take everything in moderation. Don't let the fear of missing out guide you onto a path of self destruction. Mo: Minox in the morning and the evening. Castor oil orally. Tu: Minox in the morning and the evening. Castor oil orally. We: Minox in the morning and the evening. Castor oil orally. Th: Minox in the morning and the evening. Castor oil orally. Ketoconazol shampoo and conditioner. Fr: Minox in the morning and the evening. Castor oil orally. Sa: Minox in the morning and the evening. Castor oil orally. Ketoconazol shampoo and conditioner. Su: Minox in the morning let the skin rest a few hours and then micro needling. Castor oil orally. Only do minox Monday morning if your skin can handle it. Mine can handle it right after without too much active ingredients entering my bloodstream. Some need rest up to 48 hours. If you already have bald spots, make sure to wear sunscreen, because the sun will let your skin age like nothing else and accelerate hair loss to light speed. With micro needling don't pass a spot more than 3 times. Also stamp it, don't trace it, because it could rupture your skin in an unpleasant way. While you are at it, never needle dry, you need to have some sort of lubrication. If you can't afford Hyaluronan serum, you can also use oil or non comedogenic moisturizer. While you are at it, do your whole face too, it counteracts already existing scars, promoting new collagen build and lessens wrinkles. It also promotes hair growth in self. Be sure to start with needle heads with many needles at first and build your way slowly to head with little needles. That's all I can think of right now. I thought it was over too, that's why I wanted to share my knowledge with you. If I could help you, make sure to help someone else as well. We all could profit from knowledge so spread it to the ones who need it. This is just what I know and I am not a doctor so I don't take any responsibility for any kind of injuries, typos which I may have not seen and everything else that might occur. Do your own research and find what suits you the most. If you have anything to add or anymore questions feel free to ask. Maybe I have the right answer. Take care and good luck.
I appreciate you sharing your story. It's a struggle for a lot of men out there especially from countries that really pays a lot of attention on your hair. I don't have any judgement about people who are suffering from hair loss because it's not their fault.
As a 20 year old who’s been watching their hair disappear since I was 17, I honestly forget that this isn’t a problem exclusive to me. After a while I started to feel “ less than” or defective. I still haven’t come to terms with what’s happening to me, but I do know that no one deserves to feel this way.
You're definitely not the only one! I know a couple guys who also have receding hairlines. They also look great! You're not worth any less whether you have hair or not. Tbh, every single bald guy I've ever met has been an awesome person. Idk, just remember that your value does not come from your hair.
As a somewhat older woman, I feel the same way you describe. For me the "root" cause is trauma. Unfortunately a lot of people feel this way deep down. It's a hard wake up call to realize you're feeling this way and even harder to rewire your brain/to cope in a healthy way. Thanks for sharing. I hope you're able to find your peace! You should look into microneedling and minoxidil. It's a total gamechanger - grew back most of my hair in the areas i was balding and thickened up the rest significantly.

Crazy how I used to frett this and the reaction was nearly non existent!! Feel so much more confident now. Thanks for the video and being an inspiration man.
Shaving your head bald when you're not balding is different from shaving bald when you are. Because when it starts to regrow it look gross and weird. Vs when a normal guy regrows it, it just looks like he's quirky
This was an incredible video. You nailed the truth super well from the internal anxiety that someone might be battling with if they’re noticing their hair loss. To shaving it all off and realizing that the anxiety was really just you and no one really cares. I’d say that is true because to be honest I thought you looked great at all stages from hair loss to shaving it bald. You were pointing out where you were noticing you were receding and losing it. But from my seeing you I wasn’t even thinking that or seeing that. We see more about ourselves than what others are seeing.
Shit man that really motivated me, I did 100 push ups, 100 sit ups, 100 Squads and 10Km of running every single day and started balding in the end. Despite my godlike body I was quite insecure over my baldness, so thanks for this video🙂
I have had friends going bald pretty young. One in particular held on way to long and was combing over. I honestly believed he held on because people took made fun of his balding and he didnt want to admit defeat. Just don't poke fun at male pattern baldness, you dont know how much it can effect people when they are at home alone, staring into the mirror thinking "why me?". Also, you never know when it could eventually come for you. Someone i know, who always poked fun at my aforementioned friend, is currently showing major signs of balding. Safe to say, he is very quiet about the siuation.
@@mahadhosh6400Fin for the win. So many toilet seat heads in my family both sides. Im a horrific goblin mofo. If I lost my hair id be taking a ride on the suislide.
I can relate so much with this video that is almost like it was made for me. The first time someone said my hair was receding I was 17 and my hair was a big part of my looks and appearance. I ignored it hoping it would stop naturally but of course that didn't happen. I was on and off shaving my hair and letting it grow from age 19 to age 22 and then I just let it grow again, used a lot of fade in the sides and long on top to try to make it less apparent but it only worked for a small window. I had self esteem issues and lack of confidence because I always was so self conscious and concerned about my hair, but had issues to be open to accept that I had to do something. At age 24, around my 25th birthday a colleague snapped a picture of me from a distance with my head a little bit down and the only thing I could see was the amount of skin in the top of my head. THAT was the moment I knew I had to simply let go. One thing that bothered me, and still does for an extent, is that during all this process where I was on and off with my hair, although people do not actively care how I look, your baldness is kind of the low hanging fruit to make jokes or snarky comments. Sometimes it hurts even though you know it was not the intention. I think this made me more empathetic towards other things regarding appearance I would make fun of in the past, because now I know how that can hurt. Thanks for this video, I really needed this. It is a great definition of the acceptance we all have to accept in our lives (for different things).
Joao, damn that's early . i had a school friend , i noticed is bald pattern on a very specific day. we playing handball and he breezed past me and i could see a missing patch of hair on top. because the hair around was thin i knew right away that he was balding. we were only 14 . its crazy. and he was the recipient of bald related jokes. complete strangers would call him either fantomas or a bald headed vulture.
@@PHlophe Some people will really start at a very young age and sometimes you just think it will stop or that it is just a phase. It is weird to explain because it is so obvious and I think that this video really does a good job in explaining what goes through your head during the process. Complete strangers or acquaintances that I really don't see for a long time will call me stuff because it is so obvious. I came to the conclusion that my lack of hair is probably the first thing people notice about me, it is like a defining feature of my appearance. Realizing that and knowing how some comments or jokes can be hurtful, I noticed that I should never make fun of peoples features even though it is obvious and easy, because I have no idea what they go through in their minds to deal with that. If you can, always remember this and your friend and do the same. Cheers.
Man this couldn't come at a better time Joey, I've been balding since 20 but I've held onto it much longer than I should. In 2 weeks I turn 30, the day after I'm finally going to shave it off!
Hahaha I find this comment interesting because I turned 30 this past June and I shaved my head 2 days after! All I can say is that it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I feel like I set myself free and my confidence has had quite the boost as well! Don't be afraid, you'll be surprised how much better you will feel when you do it! Good luck!!
As someone who has been shaving their head for a few years now, at 37 years old. I will tell you, at least for me, all the hair treatments, all the care in the world, ended up being more of a hassle than it was worth. And honestly, in my case, aside of hair transplant (which I haven't tried), nothing really worked, so it ended up being mostly a pain in the ass (and also pretty expensive). Now, shaved I feel so much more relaxed. Not gonna tell anyone how to live their lives, but acceptance is generally pretty great for your mental health.
Yep, I felt the same actually. Rogaine was working for me for about 6-8 months or so, but eventually I noticed the hair loss started right back up even while using it. It's expensive and also kills your hair anyway making it brittle and fried. Just not worth it. Also I'm pretty positive (like 99%) that hair loss treatment doesn't actually work when your hair loss is due to genetics (male pattern baldness). I never tried Propetia, but my doctor also mentioned that it may not even work if my hair loss condition is genetics, not a medical condition. I decided not to go with it either because of some nasty side effects reported with it. Would rather lose my hair than risk it, it seems like a pretty dangerous drug.
@@jacobanderson6952 it still doesn't always work for everyone. It also has some potentially nasty side effects. Imagine if you took it, still lose your hairs, and destroy your sex life. Not worth it, imo.
@@WIZA327 It works for over 90% of men with male pattern baldness who use it, according to FDA data. Considering that it has been prescribed for about 3 decades at this point, I would imagine that it’s a safe treatment.
Very well stated - "Most people don't care how we look like. We are a background character in their stories and we shouldn't put ourselves into mental distress for the things that we cannot control"
This is actually false how you look actually even affects whether you get promoted, respected, make friends, get a gf. How you look doesn't matter when it's just random strangers and your walking through without bothering anyone but it certainly matters greatly when your trying to get something from this world be it a job, gf, friends etc. That's the reality
@@loverofhumanityHi, I don’t want to write a book here but I just wanted to react briefly about what you said. Of course, you’re right, in our actual society, our external apparence is important, way too much in my opinion but it is what it is… But your apparence isn’t just what nature gave you, apparence isn’t just the quality of your hairline or the fact that you have hair or not. Your apparence is way more than that, it’s about how you take care of your body, about the way you dress (linked to your personality and to the situation), about wearing a beard or not, about your eyes, about your facial features… But most importantly, it’s about how comfortable you are in your body and how you carry yourself in front of other. When a guy or girl is confident and is shining because he or she truly love him/herself and learned to know what he/she is worth as a person, there is nothing more beautiful than that. So if something as natural and common as male pattern baldness is a barrier for someone to give you a job or being your friend or whatever, it’s deeply sad and I don’t want to deal with that person. Anddd as usual with me, I still ended up writing a nove…so thank you for listening to me and I wish you a great day!
It's surprising how cleanly and calmly you talked about the most tensed issue of my life when you experienced it. Loved the way you put it forward. Thank you so much for the confidence you gave. Love and respect from half globe afar.
he made peace with it. at some point people have to come to terms with things. when i see the tricks that Desi uncles have to maintain thinning hair because it ends up being as fluffy and thin like cotton candy. it makes me feel bad . Growing up in India Baldness is a thing especially in the south.
Yeah it's never a big deal, just get over it bruh looks fine lol,... Until it happens to you. I'm watching as typing and I don't ever hear him saying "it looked horrible! I was a big freak show!!" he literally said it doesn't look that great, and doesn't look fresh etc. and yes you could say it's "fine" and sure, it is, it's passable. But for an early 20s guy to be that receded, it's showing what's coming next. But this guy is a very rare case, he actually looks good bald, it might even suit him more than before (or definitely when it was thinning and as he said, pubey). I'm sure some of you will deny this to virtue signal but most guys look like a thumb, and also they all look the same. Usually if an average guy looks OK with hair, he's going to look considerably worse without it. One important thing he mentions is how he looks older, major plus point for shaving your head, even though balding makes you look even older in most cases, it's still better than being a baby face with no hair. That's just confusing for the mind.
"I literally can't have a bad hair day. I can walk faster because of better aerodynamic. I can also tell when it's raining quicker than anyone else." Nice. Perspectives.
I'm balding at 17, gotta say that it really is the absolute worst thing that could happen to a person apart from some sort of terminal diagnosis. I started treating it about a month ago, lets hope I see some regrowth.
This is actually extremely inspiring and eye-opening for someone who is also losing their hair. Thank you for your honesty and insights. Genuinely, this made my night so much better.
I’m blessed my family has pretty good hair Genetics my dad went by kind of early but he was already in his mid-30s but a lot of it has to do with diet because a lot of Americans have bad diets and are lacking minerals and vitamins
I have had long hair since I was 15 years old (27 now). My hair is probably the first thing every girl I've ever being with complimented about me, so what Joey said about "losing his identity" is intense for me because when you have long hair it becomes the most recognisable feature about you. I have been losing hair for a couple of years now and even though most people probably don't notice it still (the long hair sort of masks it), I think I'll have to shave in a year or two. With the years I grew more and more upset about it until I actually developed depression, that's when I started looking for a treatment and ended up using Rogaine. But Rogaine gave me terrible side effects (itching, horrible headaches and I felt tired all of the time) and even after I stoped using it the side effects lasted for MONTHS so I decided to never use it again and I don't think there is any other treatment that works beside minoxidil and hormonal (which I know can cause even worse side effects). The realisation that there is probably no treatment for me left me even more depressed, but also, I sort of gave up. After a while I came to accept that I will be a bald guy. I definitely won't look as good as I look now and possibly will look weird (some people have terrible head shapes and I won't know if I am one of them before I finally shave). As I accepted this fact, I became less depressed, but it definitely changed my personality a bit. I care less about appearances in general, I also feel "older". Non bald people only experience a serious decline in their looks after a decade or more have passed, but balding people experience it in a very short period. I feel like I'm going to be 40 in two years, and my goals have changed because of that. But honestly, accepting it has being way better than resisting it. A great part of the weight have been lifted, worrying about an unsolvable problem is the worst thing you can put yourself through. We all should care way less about appearances than we do, and this situation has lead me to learn that lesson naturally, and I honestly think I am a way better person now. Maybe in a year or two I will come back and tell about how it feels to finally shave.
As a person going through the same experience it sucks. I miss my long hair and the attention it gave me. All I can say is that it’s gonna hurt looking in the mirror and knowing your hair ain’t coming back…
@@realmadrid-cx8yd Hair transplant doctors will often not work on you if you aren’t taking finasteride (or at least haven’t tried it), which is the hormonal drug he listed. However, if they will, a hair transplant is sadly still only a temporary solution. If you’re seriously balding, you don’t have enough donor hair on your head for your head to look full of hair again. Not to mention how extremely expensive it is.
@@MrPatrickbuit yeah, it's basically this. And I won't take the russian rolette that is finasteride even if someone pays me. While the minoxidil side effects may be bad, they are reversible, but finasteride has a track of leaving permanent side effects. You could be lucky and not get any side effects, but I rather just be bald. There are plenty of cool and successfull people that are bald, sure it isn't the best look, but it's not the end of the world.
I just watched this video randomly, but what you said at the end is so true man, and more people need to realize that other people don't think about them as much. I also looked at Seth's comment here, and just realized that I never paid attention to the fact that he was bald. Like I could see it of course, but I never really thought "Oh this guy is bald", I just watched his videos without having the status of the hair on his head in mind, and enjoyed his content.
My hairline always looked receded when I was young. By the time I was 24, I was balding at the crown as well as receding. I’m 43 now and I’ve been shaving my head since I was 28-29? I’ve never gotten used to being bald, even though I’ve been so for almost half my life - it’s soul-crushing.
I mean they do define you, the comment you made only applies to yourself, as in you define urself to them. But to others, trust me I’d knlw, they associate you with ur appearance. The way you look is “you” to everyone elsewhere
Finally I feel like I'm not alone in this. Officially lost my squared hairline while I was in middle school. Got mistaken for a 40 year old in my freshman year of college, and then completely shaved my head by my second year of college. Every change of your hair that you described is exactly what I've gone through. Definitely lost the genetic lottery, but I'm happier now that I'm bald.

@@HighTierHuman0Not really no one cares that much about acne its just a sign of puberty that disappears after time whilst hair loss is something everyone can seee and in my experience losing hair people care about it a lot more than acne.
The funniest part is that it's actually truth most of the time. Youre one hundred percent correct. People are far too self absorbed to give more than a passing thought about our appearance. The same goes when you do public speaking. Why be afraid? Joey, nearly all of those shots where you say your hair looks really thin and its disappearing look good to me - I definitely think you over thought it!
I started showing signs of balding at 14. Wasn't a great time going through high school. I started shaving it shortly after turning 20. It instantly looked so much better and took away a lot of the anxiety. Most people tell me I look really good bald and I like to think so too. I have mostly come to terms with my baldness and don't let it bother me but there are of course days here and there where I see an old picture of me and miss my hair a bit haha. If you are showing signs of hair loss, do one of the following things immediately. Start using hair growth medicine such as Rogaine, or shave. As Joey mentioned, the earlier you start using treatments, the more effective they are, if you wait too long, you will not be able to save your hair. Shaving is not a terrible option either if you are comfortable with it. The absolute worst thing you can do is sit there with a receding hair line, everyday you look in the mirror scared that it's gotten worse, it's miserable, treat it or shave it.
Myself stopped my hair fall with these. Detangling your hair gently with a wide tooth neem comb to avoid breakage, particularly when hair is wet and more prone to break. Use liitleextraaa cocoonniion shampoo with natural hair oil 2 times a week. This is essential part of my hair care routine and worked well in hair fall control.
Achieved results in just 2 months. Following 45 months, baby hairs started to appear. I just used little extra Cocoonion shampoo, hair conditioner and oil along with the Reacctivate hair growth serum.
Finally been waiting for this one since you mentioned it on the stream. I feel like a receding hairline looks more mature/ "manly" and can be managed better than balding at the crown. That is rough. You don't really see it until it's too late, but everyone else notices it constantly (or so you think). My advice: unless you're financially and mentally prepared to pop pills or use creams, just SHAVE IT. You'll thank yourself later. Anyone who doesn't want to be apart of your life if you don't have hair, never was going to stay anyways
I'm actually surprised that you are 25 not because of your looks but because of your content, well I'm 29 and feel a bit more dumber. Anyway few days I started balting as well, getting ready for my 30s with no hair.
The only friend that makes fun of my hair loss also has hair loss lol so can relate. Can’t believe you are 25! Not because you don’t look 25 more so because of your impressive bounty of wisdom!
This video was honestly amazing to watch. I have pretty much the exact same hair loss story as you, except I shaved my head yesterday at 26 years old. My hair also looked “pubey” and I had been in denial for a long time. But now I finally did it, and it feels amazing (although still strange). My friends’ and colleagues’ reactions were also pretty much just “oh cool”, which kind of both disappointed and relieved me.
I am 24 and I battled with self-esteem because of the same issue as well. After two years of so much stress and feeling low, I accepted that whatever was to happen, I was going to be happy. Since I accepted it, I am very happy and don't even think about it one bit. As you have said "no one really care about how you look". Thank you for sharing.
If you've noticed, bald characters in movies and tv shows tend to be the most powerful. Both physically and intellectually and more. You look great man!
Can you address your botox, skincare etc? Your skin has improved a whole lot! In the old videos you have significant forehead wrinkles and now your skin is absolutely glowing! would love to see a video on skin x
10/10 video. I'll just say tho, you actually had good family and friends. I had family who pressured me and tried to get me to grow it back, particularly my mom. Trying to get me to hold on longer and making it harder to just accept this new self. It did help that I was starting school and meeting completely new people. I could just have my identity as 'the bald guy' to these completely new people and it was very easy to accept. Girls also continued liking me, which was a pleasant surprise. Some people around you will react weirdly, as some of my family did. New people won't give AF.
Same story here, just that it already started a few years earlier than in your case. I've worn a buzzcut since I was 16, bc there were basically no more hairstyles left that wouldn't look weird with thos huge temples. What you said at 4:47 "I attached a part of my identity to my hair..." really struck a chord with me, because for me it was just the other way around: I've built my identity with a bald head, since I didn't have any left in my young adulthood, and I think that is the main reason why it never really bothered me that much! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for this video man! It’s seriously ruined my life losing my hair.. wish I could be one of those guys who doesn’t care. when I had hair girls would ask me out to work lunch and drinks on weekends and one day it just stopped. My confidence plummeted and for a guy losing his personality with hair it makes for a horrible time to be around me. For 8 years now I haven’t had the courage to even ask a girl out. My friends wouldn’t ask me out to bars on the weekends anymore to meet woman and although not super mean about they would bring it up behind my back sometimes. I’ve not reached for that new job title since I’d rather work from home in my safe job to not show my baldness.. missed weddings & big events because I wasn’t able to wear a hat… it’s detrimental guys.. I don’t mean to bitch because people have far worse problems but my god losing my hair young has really screwed my personality up.. I’m bitter/quiet and much less personable.. I know I’m bitching but it might help someone else going through this that their not alone. I’m working out way more now and trying to control other parts of my body that can change to feel a bit better about myself.
It's rough - no man wants to lose his hair - but it will get better as the years go by because you will be joined by more and more men who look just like you do! BTW, the best comment I saw in a Reddit thread on baldness was from a woman: "My boyfriend is bald and fat. And I love him." Says it all, really.
@@bertramwinslowiii2119 lol, bro. Im 30 and literally 90% of men my age have decent hairs on top of their heads. How am I gonna compete against that when 90% of women cut you off from their list solely based on that, lol? xD The difference in your dating life experience and women interaction generally between being good looking (hair) and being an ugly dog (no hair) is fucking stunning. I'd rather give up on dating than date bald.
@@michaelboston5589 90%? Really? I know lots of guys in their 20s who are balding already. And I'm convinced women are much more attracted by intelligence, sensitivity, kindness, sense of humour, honesty, etc. than they are by what is (or isn't) on a man's head. Especially as they get into their 30's. And one of those "choosy" women could marry a man with a full thick head of hair - a few years later he's bald! What's she gonna say, "I'm divorcing you because you lost your hair"?
@@bertramwinslowiii2119 Women are attracted to confidence and sense of humour the most, as personality traits. But every woman has a looks threshold that you need to pass to have a chance with her (or money/social status threshold, depending on the woman and her preferences). And yes, bro, 90%. Im talking about people who lost so much hair that they need to shave it off, not about people with minor/mild balding as u said, lol, because there's a huge difference in those 2 things.
I think you handled it really well, honestly. I'm dealing with hair loss at a young age myself and am desperately trying to hold onto it (with medication, etc), because it's totally killed my confidence and anything I liked about my appearance, it's such a tough thing to go through so young. Good job :)
Maybe you can try Chinese Anti hair loss products, which are very effective in our local area and can let you grow your hair in a few months. If you need it, I can share it with you.
I’m losing my hair at 19, I’m currently debating letting it go or starting some sort of treatment for it. But at the same time, I kinda like that I’m losing it, for the sole fact that it motivates me to learn some skills since the value of my looks are slowly leaving. In a funny way this sort of lit a fire under my ass to get my shit straight, and have more things to be proud of than just my looks.
Debating the same for a while now, but Im 21. I really dont want to do so much work just to maintain my hair. I also dont want to get a transplant because Im just 21. How many more surgeries am I gonna need, and why would I postpone the inevitable right? Idk, some random thoughts. Quite tempted to keep shaving it off i guess.
@@musabilhan Just get a hair piece. Its cheap, effective and non-medical. Girls get to wear high heels, pushup/padded bras, breast surgery, makeup, fake eyelashes, fake eyebrows, fake nails, dye their hair, style their hair, hair extensions, wear weaves, get botox, lip injections, face lifts, and nose jobs. Nothing wrong with leveling the playing field back in our favor a little bit
@@kerem7188 I've been using derma roller and caffeine shampoo since a bit after the comment. Nothing noticable yet, but my plan is to see what happens with this combo in 5 month mark. If it doesn't help I'll try derma roller and minoxidil combo for 5 months as well. If that doesn't work either then I'll keep my hair around until my hairline gets noticibly bad, but it won't be a huge problem for me if I keep my hair long. Because my type of balding is not reclining of the hairline, but the thinning of the hair and decreasing of the hair density on the top. And honestly I can rock the bald look so I feel quite ok with whatever happens
Thank you so so so much for making this video. I've been really depressed about my hair rapidly thinning over the past few days. What you said about it just being genetics really struck a chord in me. We just draw so much of your identity from our hair, that coming to terms with losing it is debilitating. But thinking about it just being genetics and not time fleeting by makes me feel better. Thanks for this.
Thanks for making this video, I relate to it too much sadly. I got really worried about it and buzzed my hair last year to see what it'd look like and honestly I feel like I look better with hair. If my hairline recedes any more I'm going bald, and that's okay. You're right though, no one cares more than you do.
Dude I have thinning hair and like the past year or so I have unironically been thinking that when it is time to finally shave it completely off at least maybe it will suit me just as good as it does that Better Ideas guy. You really radiate confidence bro and even before making this video you helped me with kind of coming to terms with balding, keep up the good work :)
Don't listen to this guy's bullshit, don't shave your head. Get on minoxidil/finasteride. Baldness ruins your social life, it automatically makes you uglier by 3-5 points.
Similar to your experience, I've always looked quite older than what I am. In my case, puberty hit me hard and early so by 7th grade I already had a full Mario mustache and by high school I could fully grow a beard. It's something that a lot of times has made me feel bad. I wish I seemed my age. And now at 23 I've lost most of my hair, almost like you. I really hate it when people comment on the fact that I'm balding, as if I didn't notice first. So when I began shaving my head, even more people started asking why, as if it wasn't clear enough. I'm working on myself to feel as confident as I should.
Let other people say what they want! If they really care that much about some random guy's hair, they are not worth a place in your life. People being rude is the best way to confirm that they are not your friends :)
Did you watch the video? Shaving your hair shouldn't make you feel less confident. Watch the video again. Nobody cares. Even if they ask about it, it's because they're planning to do the same sometime in the future, or because it's something new to them but they will get used to it really fast. Your hairline shouldn't affect your confidence.
It's a nightmare and it is a horrific nightmsre if you are young. So try to build your confidence and start shaving you hair to bring more confidence, try the various hair remedies and you know what the last option is.
@@flance911 i don't think you should go for it in your 30 s because if you go for it in your early days it will not work as the hair has not receded completely that's why.
@@flance911 because the chances of it being a successful transplant in long time is less as you know the hair is still receding if you think about it if the temples have receded and you get a transplant of that part , now you think all is well as everything is fixed. Sadly no by time your crown will also start losing hair now you are receding from all the places except the temple. It will not give a good look and your money is wasted that's why it is advised not to get a transplant until you are 30.
Thank you I needed to hear this. At 18 I've noticed my hair line thinning. I'm 21 rn and my hair is still thick on top, but it looks patchy if I have long hair so I have to keep it short (like a crew cut) so it doesn't look terrible. I miss the days when I was 17 and I was rocking the Jake Gyllenhaal/Jared Leto long hair in HS. Whatever there's worse things in life, I hope all is good with you man 🙏
Second time watching this video because tomorow is the day! I feel so much better to have you put into words those feelings and unconscious thoughts I felt and though throughout my balding process. Thank you!
As a guy that has gone through this process and ended up on the under end just buzzing it all off, this is the most accurate and human take I’ve heard. Be Bald, be proud :)
Yeah I was the same. Started thinning at 16-ish and was completely bald by mid 20s. I didn't care much cause my identity wasn't wrapped up in my appearance and you're right, no one cared. I got just as much attention from women as well after I started shaving my head as before. It's not hard to build hair loss up to be a huge deal because having hair is seen as "less attractive" and I think society teaches men that subliminally, so when we lose our hair it's more stressful because we feel less worthy.
I consider myself to be a very confident person. I very recently started shaving my head, as I was starting to feel insecure about thinning hair. It’s been a somewhat difficult transition. I’ve had mixed reviews from others. It’s been affecting me more than I thought it would. I’ve always felt like hair restoration intervention is, for lack of a better term, Beta. It’s a normal part of life. However, I can’t help but feel like I’ve lost a big part of my general appearance (I had blonde hair). Two weeks in, I’m beginning to feel more comfortable and confident as the initial reactions are almost concluded. I’m looking forward to the future and gaining a new sense of self with my new look. Thanks so much for making videos like this to validate people like me.
I just hit the bullet a week ago (28 yo) and I admit I'm still having a hard time coping with it, even though people around me said it looks good. Hair was a big part of my confidence, personality even, since I was very young. So going from long hairstyles to bald is being hard to swallow and this video gave me great and helpful perspective. I'll see this as a new chapter, where there's one less silly thing that I'll spend my energy obsessing over and focus on improving myself in areas I have control over. Thanks for the inspiring video.
I feel you, man. I used have a very full, thick head of hair until I reached my early 20's. All of a sudden my temples receded and the top of my head gradually started to thin out. I'm about to be 30 real soon and I noticed a slight bald pattern by my crown as well. It's genuinely soul crushing, especially when it happens so soon in your life. I don't think I'll ever bite the bullet though. I'll never be comfortable with a bald head. A buzz cut is as far as I'll go. Short by the sides and slightly longer on top is the way I roll. I'll probably shave it all off when I go completely bald on top, but I don't think that will happen.. .hopefully. Nobody in my family receded that badly. Only the temples and crown.
Your long hair might be the reason for your hair loss depending on what hairstyles you rocked (I’m not saying long hair itself but if your putting it up with hair ties). Having tight long hairstyles puts strain on your hairline which can lead to hair loss after many years studies shows.
I wish it was just as acceptable for women. I had a bit of time where I started losing a lot of hair and I wasn’t sure why. I’ve recovered since then but I always feel for other women who are going through much more advanced and chronic hairloss. For a woman, not having hair is societally unacceptable. :(
I Don’t think it is unacceptable but you kinda need a face that doesn’t look prettier framed by hair. Mine doesn’t. I hit 30, Then came covid it was horrid but I survived Then some months later I started to shed as a cat. And my hair was my great pride. It was always thick and grew long with ease even Though i Brushed it wet and did not start at the bottom and often tugged roughly at it during brushing… hair advice seem to not be for me. Then with the shedding and learning it was Common after covid, a sort of PTSD on your body. I started following advice, got special schampo & conditioner for hairloss, switched hairbrushed and eating Priorin a pill for hair growth snd strength. Thankfully my hair started to get better and nowadays it quite looks and feel like my old hair but not as superthick. But Anyways Agreed women suffering hairloss is less talked about beside cancerrelated ones.
Great advice. We've all beat ourselves up needlessly before doing what we need to do. Seeing myself on a video and realizing that I had was way past the thinning stage took me directly to a #1 buzz; graduating to slick bald. All of the overthinking was time wasted and consumed way too much energy.

Thank you for this video. I’ve tried to explain to family members how much of an impact it can actually have but it’s understandably hard to get if you don’t go through it. Appreciate the video and all the others
I started losing my hair when I was 16 years old, and I hid it (or tried to) for a while. I didn't want anyone to know because I feared what it would be like going through high school being bald (already wasn't the most accepted person in my class). On the day after my high school graduation I shaved it off completely, and it felt liberating. Honestly regret trying to hide it at all, kind of robbed myself of normal high school years.
I'm 18 and my hair loss has really been eating me up for the last year. I will visit a skin doctor next week, I had blood tests done but in that regard theres nothing wrong with me (and even this doctor was very surprised about how bad my hair is). I reeeeaaaallly hope he'll find some solution, because i consider my hair a big part of me, my personality. I can't describe how soul crushing it is to always have think about my hair. I haven't cried once probably in the last 3 year, but I recently did because of my hair loss. My plan is, if it doesn't get better, to shave it off when i'm done with school and entering uni. But still there are so many things holding me back - will my girlfriend still like me? I mean i'm a personality kinda guy and maybe i'm a trash human being for this, but I wouldn't like how she would look without hair, so in my mind it's her absolute right to think the same way. I honestly don't even know why i'm writing this, it's just that I don't really wanna talk to anyone about how I really feel about this. I mean I showed my dad how it looks (you kinda can't see it bc i have pretty long hair) but he said it's fine and I don't wanna be a bitch about this. And I'm not a "boys aren't allowed to cry" kinda guy and I wasn't raised like this, I just rarely get emotional by stuff. So yeah that's my story i guess. Stay strong 💪
Don't worry bruh, do it when you feel it's right. I shaved mine off at 18, just about a month before quarantine. Was just sick of overthinking about it. Just felt toxic. So that was the best time for me really. You'll find yours :)
I just shaved mine. Just so tired of trying to hide it. I didn’t choose to lose my hair but at least I have the choice to shave it and stop wasting energy thinking about it 🤙
“it’s not really something i’ve thought about much” proceeds to explain his mental and emotional changes as a result of hair loss, and motivates everyone in the process
this makes me feel better. My hair has been receding since I was 15. Luckily it hasn't receded much since I was 18 but now I've been buzzing my head since I was 24 and I feel much more confident!
The realization of my hair falling out at only 19 was terrible for my already low self esteem. I remember the awful feeling it gave me to see more and more hair in my hands in the shower. I started cutting my own hair short at around 21. I'm 34 now, and buzz what's left with a 1/8" guard. I miss my hair so much, though and I even sometimes dream that I have my hair back, and I feel so good, but then I have to come back to reality. It's tough.
My hair didn't recede but it def started thinning after 18. After 4 years of denial and taking a good hard look in the mirror I realized I was putting myself in more anguish than I really needed to. I won't lie, after buzzing all of my hair and going back to work I def almost cried. I know it's silly but it was like saying goodbye to a past version of my identity that I didn't want to let go. Even now sometimes I often feel sad for the loss of hair. Though nowadays it def feels more liberating because like you said nobody really gives a shit and friends and family will love you regardless.

Word. I used to be that insecure kid who cared about height, weight, and hairline cause I was a chubby kid who was 5'10 with a receding hairline. Can't change 2 of those things but managed to get into shape and feel much better.
I remember my hair started thinning when I was 17 but I thought it was going to take a while for it to fully fall off. Every time I got a hair cut I got it lower than last time, till I noticed I was balding unevenly and had a patch. I'm now 22 fully shaved and shiny and with a long beard. You do gain a lot of confidence when you start rocking the Johnny Sins look.
That outlook that "nobody truly cares" is extremely true. I've delt with it in other scenarios, where I've worried a ton for absolutely nothing. Losing my hair however, has me petrified. I'm currently growing it out, with the idea that I will bald one day, and I might as well make the most of it with all its glory.
At the age of 18 I noticed some mild receding of my hair line, at 22 it has receded a bit more, and my untamed hair looks like that of a Roman aristocrat. But I learned to accept it early on, I embrace it, Ive always had a widows peak anyway, but the concept of balding never really bothered me, nor has it been a hindrance of my goals and ambitions.
Hey Dude, This could be a really hard video to make! Huge respect! Another thing is that you actually mention how your brother being proactive could save and regrow a lil bit more hair. Your strong jawline looks excellent, the chin dimple makes it look even better in some ways. (Do you know how many guys wish they had a jawline like that?) You present yourself well with a calm and friendly demeanor so that people want to listen, but you could also command a room with that bald head if you wanted to. Your head shape works great for baldness, but you actually looked fantastic even when you still had hair and were actively balding!

Why you don't do Hair transplant ?
@@Fred-ek6en Not too late for you bro. Hear me out I, you can fight androgenic alopecia (male hairloss)
First of all you need to identify which kind of hairloss you got.
So what can you do about it?:
Anecdotal treatments:
(You can use collagen too, but studies have shown that Biotin is far superior.)
3. Don't use harsh shampoos, because they will dry out your scalp. You need to hydrate it in order for it to function properly. You can buy cheap oils everywhere to put them in your hair as a mask, leave it in for at least 10 minutes and rinse it out.
My suggestions:
You can either use fin, duta or ru but not a combo because it would just make your life miserable.
My routine:
This is a lot of information and can be quite overwhelming.

Fax man, truth is literally every guy goes through this it’s normal. It’s all that testosterone 👊
Know your never alone and keep on learning 🌌💖💫
You should look into microneedling and minoxidil. It's a total gamechanger - grew back most of my hair in the areas i was balding and thickened up the rest significantly.

What inclines that shaved look looks good on everyone ??? Why not treat something thats a disorder ?.
Shit man that really motivated me, I did 100 push ups, 100 sit ups, 100 Squads and 10Km of running every single day and started balding in the end. Despite my godlike body I was quite insecure over my baldness, so thanks for this video🙂

Cheers.

Not gonna tell anyone how to live their lives, but acceptance is generally pretty great for your mental health.
thats a great comment man. I got SMP so I shave my head im glad i didnt get a hair transplant
@@WIZA327 Propecia is literally used for genetic baldness. Your doctor is out of their mind.

It doesn't, because you know it's the beginning of the end
Yeah definetely, if I met him I wouldn't even have realized he was balding

@@MrPatrickbuit yeah, it's basically this. And I won't take the russian rolette that is finasteride even if someone pays me. But most of the time they aren't thinking about us at all 🤣
The funniest part is that it's actually truth most of the time. People DO care how you look, that's why people are given nicknames based on the looks a lot, that's why whenever you see something odd about a person you instantly spot it, that's why you are automatically repulsed by ugly crooked yellow teeth or bad case of facial acne and so on.
Looks determine how easy and successful your life will be.

From one bald guy to another, this was a great take on baldness - I love all your videos man, keep dropping those knowledge bombs!
Youre one hundred percent correct. People are far too self absorbed to give more than a passing thought about our appearance. The same goes when you do public speaking. Why be afraid? No one is paying attention anyhow. If the hair loss bothers someone that much then there are options out there. Don't like the options? Then leave it alone or shave it off. That's it guys. Do something or do nothing and be ok with that decision. Life is short. Wasting it on nonsense is not a decision youll be happy with later on.
Joey, nearly all of those shots where you say your hair looks really thin and its disappearing look good to me - I definitely think you over thought it!
Balding definitely feels 100× worse than it looks
Just think of One Punch Man lol bald is still badass
Myself stopped my hair fall with these. Detangling your hair gently with a wide tooth neem comb to avoid breakage, particularly when hair is wet and more prone to break. Use liitleextraaa cocoonniion shampoo with natural hair oil 2 times a week. This is essential part of my hair care routine and worked well in hair fall control.
Achieved results in just 2 months. Following 45 months, baby hairs started to appear. I just used little extra Cocoonion shampoo, hair conditioner and oil along with the Reacctivate hair growth serum.
Top guy.
Going bald in your teens must be hard to deal with.
You are an inspiration.

It did help that I was starting school and meeting completely new people. I could just have my identity as 'the bald guy' to these completely new people and it was very easy to accept. Girls also continued liking me, which was a pleasant surprise.

I disagree. If you come to terms with it and feel comfortable "in your skin", then it doesn't really matter as said in the video.

You present yourself well with a calm and friendly demeanor so that people want to listen, but you could also command a room with that bald head if you wanted to. Your head shape works great for baldness, but you actually looked fantastic even when you still had hair and were actively balding! Your build looks very healthy like you clearly take care of yourself. Like, bro, idk what you’re roasting yourself about, but you genuinely look fantastic! And better than anything else, you look like you’d make a fantastic family man! Like, I’m sure a lot of people would easily rate you 8 or more out of 10, easily.
And this comment is purely out of honesty. But as more of an afterthought, we men simply don’t encourage each other enough. I’m quite confident that more than a few of your viewers are checking you out.
Watch out, some of them might even be on the prowl. 😏
Such a great topic, this is a huge area that I've known many people get held back by. Thank you for sharing your story, powerful!
The time when I'm losing a ton of hair daily, this video couldn't come at a better time. Thanks.
being -Indian- Desi and balding, with the great hair you guys have, has to be a particular kind of suck :(
Maybe you can try Chinese Anti hair loss products, which are very effective in our local area and can let you grow your hair in a few months. If you need it, I can share it with you.
