Great review. Full suspension folding bikes are starting to surface now and comfort is everything when commuting long distances. This bike offers a great value and a lot of bang for the buck. Well done. I look forward to seeing many more reviews like this.
That’s the same exact frame the Eahora x-5/x-7 use. X-7 plus is 1399$ with tax and shipping. What’s the difference besides the rear suspension and the electronic controller?
Court, thanks for the positive and thorough review. That key having to stay in place is nearly unacceptable at this price point! A comment about the fat tires, when you lower the pressure for traction be sure to have a good high volume pump if your ride then moves onto a paved surface. Low fat tire pressure on pavement be difficult to control. Also the solid rims are a good choice because if you are changing tire pressure, dirt and sand can get into the punch-outs causing more problems than the small weight difference saves. Stay safe.
Very good point about low PSI being difficult to handle on concrete. I like the idea of a lightweight portable pump to take along. I also see your point about the punched out rims collecting gravel and possibly agitating the inner tube. I hadn't thought of that at all because I assumed the tire liner would keep it out... but I have seen double walled fat bike rims that have an open in-between layer where mud and debris could get caught and then add weight. Maybe it would only make sense for single wall? This is a really interesting topic. Seems like you know your stuff :)
@@ElectricBikeReview I"m not sure about the last bit but fat bike rims are an interesting topic. It is a give and take for sure and makes me think I need to do even more research on these rims, keep on riding Court.
I switched my rear 1500w hub from 7 speed to single 14t. I'm running a 44T front sprocket and it's almost perfect to help with pedal assist uphill. I would like to actually run 14 \ 45 or 46. I don't do pedal assist.
Thanks! Yeah, they found a unique throttle that works well with the trigger shifters, I haven't seen that on too many other affordable folding fat bikes. Most use the larger Shimano SIS index shifters.
This is the Mate X frame. Exact same bike end to end. Hopefully they set it up with better components. Original Mate X is a nice-looking folding fat bike frame. But the components that they used were all absolute cheap garbage. and some of them were even counterfeit. Absolutely terrible scam of a company. Glad to see somebody else making good use of this good looking frame.👍
Cool bike, but it looks just like my Mate X bike that I bought in 2018. Not sure if it is the same company just under a different name because mine is set for Europe. Just wondering what the battery capacity is on the bike that you are test riding?
I have practically the same bike from Alibaba.com. Mine has the same frame, 9 Shimano Altus gears, 750 watt Bafang motor, 16 Ah Battery, hydraulic brakes and the same Kenda tires. You have a bottle boss fetish. I don't think most people care these days about a bottle boss on a folding bike. Why don't you talk more about the full suspension and effectiveness? The red Dolomite is not the same frame as the normal blue Dolomite ruclips.net/user/postUgkxTGiBQEtJDzdz-_LjtY9HyQZPzkg6s_L9 it seems to be a Hitch with Dolomite stickers and solid rims. This isn't an issue unless you are counting on the wider tire clearance of the original Dolomite. This can be hard to tell given the angle of the pics, especially on a smaller screen. The red version does have the welded seat lock of the newer Malus. If the red color is important and you're going to be doing the basic upgrades popularized on the biking forums and RUclips; you would probably be better off buying a Hitch, getting the lighter wheels, and saving a little money. We ordered a blue and a red one and both of the bikes needed grease in the bottom brackets, hubs, and stems. 2k for a 48v, freewheel e bike that looks almost identical to a bike thats half the price... nah, for 2k i need a casette, 52v, and a way better suspension than that. the rattan fat bear looks better than this and is much cheaper.
The Eahora bikes are literally the same, and hundreds cheaper. These bikes are like prescription drugs. Sold at a premium, but the same ingredients as less expensive brands. Consumers, please shop around. You’d probably save hundreds.
Get a comparable one directly from a Chinese factory via Alibaba for a grand with 1000w motor and 48v 14 amp battery with suspension, hydraulics and top speed of 32mph. This Kahuna is marked up by a grand. A waste. SAME DAMN THING for a thousand less. They ALL use basically the same components - different branding. Hell - you could buy a wholesale lot of these with YOUR colors and branding and create a business. Sound familiar LECTRIC?
i dont think the price is decent, you can buy these fat tyre bikes far cheaper for instance i bought a engwe fat tyre bike for $950 on ebay and the bike comes with hydraulic breaks and metal fenders.
this one is ranked on my lowest of the folding fat tire ebikes not great for the price because others come with better things and still a bit cheaper priced
@Robert Jackson the new Rattan (XL), $1200, 750 (1000 peak) watt motor, front suspension, chaoyang tires (actually better in terms of material grip than the harder kenda's, though they wear faster), and actually effective braking / coasting / pedaling regen which actively gets rid of parasitic regen by putting just enough current in to mitigate the 0.6 nm gearless hub drag. Same hydraulic breaks, a better M918t computer, and 14.5/17.5 ah battery options.

looks like the same exact bike as the mate.X
great review! thanks bud!
Thanks to Vladimír Šrámeček Šrámek who lent me a battery I had my first ride on my brand new Mate X with faulty original battery.../exactly the same bike with different brand/. I am riding bikes for 40 years... Is it worth 2300euro?! NO!... I think Indiegogo's price was just acceptable... The motor is raw (not tunned whatsoever) and might be kind of hazard for novice riders in heavy city traffic... Some tunning in advanced settings might help - but I doubt it. Not even talking about crazy cheap basic components... Its definitely 1200e category bike... 1200e extra is just price for Hype...battery was driven on PAS 2 all the time...not bad!...
Looks like a rebranded mate x
2k for a 48v, freewheel e bike that looks almost identical to a bike thats half the price... nah, for 2k i need a casette, 52v, and a way better suspension than that. the rattan fat bear looks better than this and is much cheaper.
The Eahora bikes are literally the same, and hundreds cheaper. These bikes are like prescription drugs. Sold at a premium, but the same ingredients as less expensive brands. Consumers, please shop around. You’d probably save hundreds.
walke review
Looks BMXy on the small side great review
the frame is an exact replica of Lectric XP.. who copied who?? lol
not a fan that the motor is rated at peak power.. "750 Watts peak power"
this one is ranked on my lowest of the folding fat tire ebikes not great for the price because others come with better things and still a bit cheaper priced
@Robert Jackson you're right though, its not in the same price range, its much cheaper
You only care about bikes with throttles and not bikes that has pedal assist right?🤔👊🚵♂️
MATE X 250 is the same garbage sorry DUDE, but quality matters and this Bike is Made in china quality
another seller that doesn't list extra batteries for sale. NEXT!
Hi but you do a lot of complain if you want people to buy the bike from the person that is selling it don't do a lot of complaining about the product make you feel bad
to much money for what is there check out the Tesgo hummer pro less money way better bike
Would of been a great review but you missed your chance by 👄 🗣 talking too much instead of showing some of the hill climbing abilities as well!!!
You like most reviewers missed out on it. Should of spent 3-5 minutes on it. Should of shown maximum hill ride %,degree. Lot's of hills in Vanouver!!! Purhaps in an other of your video...???
Might have to find somebody else's video on it. Ok the rest of it was excellent.Student will improve hopefully. Thx.
A proper review never without a good hill climb!!!?
You had your chance.😢.👎
such a rip off mate x
you do realize that is literally the mate X.....mate X have all their bike made in china by the same factory that makes the "chinese" version....only mate X rips you off in pricing
Why are so many bike guys overly feminine? Does the seat squish your testes? You're not even trying to be a man.
How come your not wearing a mask and the other guy isn't wearing a mask either is the law on now ,so what's up with that you could can get find for not wearing the mask up to $500.00
Get over it
