Sometimes I think back to the future 3 and young guns 2 are in the same universe since they’re both westerns set in the 1880s and the 1950s. Both main characters have a friend named Doc. Both movies have Alan silvestri music.
Keifers character didn't die in real life gun battle keifer Sutherland had another movie in the works because of schedule conflicts. That's why doc scurlock was killed in this movie.
the mexican blackbird, like wut dave (i think) said, wuz said 2 b a broken, ancient trail made MANY years ago & lead straight thru 2 old mexico -- a short cut. But no one haz been on the trail, it wuz only a myth, stories told by people. It doesnt really exist, like billy said. U can google it. It WUZ a half black, half--well, u kno... I luv billy, 2!! Poor doc, he wuz another one of my favs.
Historucal accuracy is so hit and miss in this movie, some scenes are spot on but this scene whrere Doc dies couldn't be further from the truth. After the Lincoln County War,, Doc moved to Eastland Texas and thats where he lived until his death in July 1929.. He is buried there in the twin cemetary... I grew up watching and lovijg these movies and still do, just wish they'd be a little more accurate sometimes..
Doc had to die in this movie because Kiefer requested to have his character bite the dust due to his conflicting film schedule. He was also on the brink of filming the movie Flatliners so this request was the only way they can get him to do YG2 at all.
Doc really got to where he hated Billy. As far as the 15 year old boy goes. (Let me tell ya something Doc ya old Smartass. It wasn't Billy's fault! So quit Blaming him)!!!! But it wasn't a very smart move he made 1:57, stepping out into the open knowing their enemies were out there.
it wasn't really a kid in real life it was based off someone one but they altered the age same as they did tunstal who in the movie looks to be an old man in reality he was only a bit older than Billy but I guess they wanted to emphasize his impact on Billy no matter his age he was the only family Billy had he could have still been a father figure heck my nephew and my brother are only 2 years apart does that make him less his uncle LOL
He was a vagrant that Beaver had been trying to get rid of earlier on. I think he should have taken Billy's advice when Billy was trying to reason with him.
Fun fact. Josiah Doc Scurlock did not die this way. He died of old age in Mexico.

The circumstances are close to real history, but it didn't happen to Doc. It was Charlie Bowdrie that was killed this way.
That's why it's called a movie and not a historical documentary 🤷🏻♂️

I always felt the inaccuracies in this film are due to it being a story told by a very old "Brushy Bill" Roberts.

Well i would rather die in a hail of bullets than suffer i awful death. It was a gut shot in the 1800's he made the correct choice.
