Agreed. And that’s exactly what Kobe is thinking.

Thanks for this comment. I've been crying all day, my head hurts and I feel terrible. Thanks for the smile.

I don’t usually get too sad when a celebrity dies, but Kobe and his daughter’s death hit different.
And the 24 second shot clock tributes made me tear up.
I'm not a basketball or sports fan but his image and reputation transcended the sport.

Kobe , you will be remembered in our hearts . Rip to Kobe his daughter and others in that Helicopter. May God give strength to the families
Two years later and it still doesn’t feel real. The impact that one person had on so many lives is astounding. You’re never going to be forgotten Kobe. Thank you for making me love basketball. Love you man
No kidding. I didn’t even like him growing up (Spurs fan) but I came to appreciate his game. It’s crazy he’s gone
Man I just thought about him
I don’t live near any NBA teams, but I knew how good he was and would track his point totals in the newspapers. It was quite a shock for me when I learned he had been killed. A couple months ago, I got some closure when I saw an episode of the tv show, Mayday. It showed me the cause of the crash.
It’s still crazy thinking about the fact that kobe Bryant is gone
Hearing Doc Rivers, the coach of one of the Lakers' most bitter rivals throughout a big portion of Kobe's career, choke up and almost break down like that always gets me. Still miss Kobe :(

Mohammad Ali
If I was playing first possession I’m scoring tbf
No, neither of those two guys had a more impactful death on professional sports history... no one kows who Senna is, and Mohammad Ali was sick for a while before he passed away. Kobe Bryant was 100% healthy, with his daughter and a helicopter that never crashes suddenly crashed and killed everyone spontaneously. Odds are almost slim to none. This is by far the most horrific, and impactful sports deaths in sports history, if not the most impactful by far. Mohammad Ali still not even close to this horrific tragedy.

Almost 3 years later and I think about Kobe and Gigi daily. Wasn’t my favorite player but one of my favorite people! Rest. Easy. Mamba.
Did you know them personally? Probably not the best place to talk about it if you did, people are vile on YT. Sorry for your loss.
Still look at vids & play 2k & then it hits me, Kobe is gone. I remember being 10 doin the between the legs dunk like Kobe with my brother on the goal & waking Mom up with all that noise.
Bro even 3 years later it's still hits you so hard. Kobe is my top 3 favorite player ever. The passion that he had for the game is second to none. The world really took a legend from us in such a tragic way that will never be forgotten. I never knew Kobe personally, never even met him in person and it still hits so hard just because I looked up to him as a basketball player because of the passion he had. R.I.P Kobe and Gigi. Forever be missed.
The thing that saddens me the most is that he barely had like 3 years in retirement, meaning he spent literally most his life playing in the nba living the dream, but he never fully get to live life after basketball..:/
That’s what’s most sad about it. He said it himself; he was just getting started.
G.O.A.T Material I agree, she had a whole life in front of her:/
Or with his family because during the nba season it’s a long one..
Are you trying to make me fucking cry cause you’re doing a great job at it
That's the way life goes. Fuck Kobe.
What really gets me is that his last moments were probably spent beside his daughter, trying his best to reassure her that everything would be alright
This part right here is what tears me up
Yeah I've been thinking about that all day how their last moments we're spent
Same man...
I hope Kobe got to embrace his daughter before the end. The father and daughter aspect of this tears me up.

Instead of yelling “KOBE” it’s going to be “For Kobe.”
Doesn’t sound the same no more
3.5 years and still can’t fathom the fact that he’s gone
Still can’t believe he’s gone. It’s like a part of my childhood died with him. Kobe was the reason I even got interested in basketball. I was a football kid whole life since birth, but seeing the way he play made me go out to my little tiny 1 hoop court in my neighborhood and imitate his moves all night long, even in the pouring thunder storming rain!!! Desperately trying to get that last move down wanting to become the best kid in my neighborhood! I’ll forever be in your debt Kobe. R.I.P to all those on board the helicopter on that fateful day. You’ll be missed...
Haven't seen such unification between people In a long time. Even non fans of basketball felt the loss of kobe bryant.
I can attest to this. I’m not a basketball fan at all. I’m a football fan. But i still remember cheering for the celtics (as a boston native) in 08 and knowing how great kobe was. And then suddenly hearing he died was shocking because he’s so young

I can’t even imagine what Kobe’s wife thinks right know. She just lost her husband, AND her daughter in the same place and same time.
And for everybody who is says that “I can’t imagine what they were thinking” and stuff, I will just tell u how they died: so on a helicopter, you can go really really slow. (15 mph slow) most of the people who were flying helicopters that day were going very slow because it was veryyy foggy. Kobe’s pilot, was going 180 mph. Basically he didn’t see this mountain, and he just ran into it. It was a quick death. There wasn’t like a whole movie scene where it’s like: “we’re going down!!!” And stuff.
This stuff is very sad and you should be educated before saying stuff.
Rip Kobe 💛💜

It’s moments like these that show you it’s more than just a game.
As a kid from Ohio when I was 7-8 years old I saw Kobe play for the first time and instantly fell in love. The heart the hustle. He’s the reason I became a die hard lakers fan and I’ve been one ever since. Then as I started to get older being able understand what he was saying in interviews and what he spoke about and just being able to see the person he was molded me to be like him. I wanted to be like Kobe and I still do. Then I remember watching his last game instead of the warriors game and it was incredible the fact that his last ever shot was a free throw… just like how he started his career. I teared up a little know I would never get to see him play basketball again. And being sixteen and hearing his speech afterwards brought a smile to my face and in that moment I wanted to be like him. He was my idol. Then after his retirement just seeing him go around on interviews and drop gems of knowledge I would soak it all in. And seeing him share his love of the game with his daughter excited me. And then seeing him at the game where Lebron passed him on the all time scoring list was incredible to see him and Lebron dap up was everything. Then the next day I was at work and he had a little time to slack off to I get on Twitter and I saw the tmz article and didn’t want to believe it and when it was confirmed I almost broke down in tears. When I did get back home I did break down crying. I couldn’t believe it. My idol. The person I wanted to be like. Gone. My first thought was how we won’t ever be able to see him grow old like bill Russell or julis Irving. As someone who loves the history of basketball that hurt me. But everyday I strive to be like Kobe and to keep his spirit alive. Mamba may be out but Mamba Forever. Rip the greatest 💜💛

Mark Daniel Not true, when people toss a paper ball into a trash can and yell out Kobe it’s pretty obvious how influential he’s been to a lot of people who love the game of basketball. Can't even imagine.. especially when you put it in those words. Devastating.
That's really sad. Waking up and your life is changed forever!!
C A R L I T A she probably won’t be able to get sleep.. most don’t in a situation like this.

i cried when i read your comment😭
Been over a year, my heart still hurts. Never felt so much pain over the lose of a celebrity/athlete. When my wife told me Kobe had passed, I knew right then he was so much more than an athlete.
I come back from time to time when I’m going through things and remember Kobe wouldn’t go out without a fight, I miss you Kobe, you was my idol and motivation growing up & I still love you brother
Lifetime Raptors fan,
and ill forever remember that legendary game when Kobe scored 81 on us.

N H 24/8 years old
Well people die man the sad truth
Unknown Entity well Kobe was 41 at his death and if the person was a decent bit younger they would’ve seen Kobe die from natural causes

"Heroes get remembered, but LEGENDS NEVER DIE!."
Legends die in the making
Heroes never die too though, man. This legengs and heroes thing being used for Kobe Bryant is extreme. He was both. But why can't we just say heroes never die either? Because they shouldn't.
They become a part of you.

Kobe's death really shook the basketball world. It's been a year Mamba, your greatness will never be forgotten.

Don't worry she is resting in heaven.
We should stop mourning his death, and start celebrating his life. The life of a father, a husband and one of the greatest people ever to touch a basketball
DeVince DeLowry it is an appropriate time for both
It's been hours bro
I'm still crying man
@@jaylebron777 it ain't gonna be the same without kobe
It’s a process.
I was at the Coyotes vs Kings game and they had an entire memorial for Kobe before the game. I took my 4 year old daughter to the game and it was one of the most surreal moments of my life. Being there next to my daughter just like a father and daughter should be doing, enjoying sports and knowing that Kobe and Gianna spent so many times together doing the same thing.
Once in a while I always remember kobe and his greatness out of nowhere :(. Time flew so fast and it still feels unreal til now
