Hey there! Thank you to all who constantly motivate me to get out there and find that candy. I am very lucky to have access to these areas, and even more lucky to have all your support!👊 Merchandise will be available soon too so stay tuned! 😇💛🎁
PioneerPauly It's an Oneida fork. They have been around since the 1880s. I couldn't find the exact year but take down all markings on it and go to their website to try and find a match.. if you're so inclined to do so. If I find any more info, I'll pass it along.
Thank you Pauly - I've owned a Gold bug 2 that I bought on craigslist years ago, but have been frustrated learning how to tune it. Your explanation was so clear and concise - thanks!
I could get my detector ground balanced and I was missing targets that someone else was able to get and was ready to sell the detector. I paused this video and went out and sure enough, It is now balanced. Thanks to your demo, you just saved my detector from Craigs List!
Those Fisher Gold Bug 2's are excellent detectors for fine gold. A quality detector really pays for itself quickly. I've recently switched from that to a Minelab Gold Monster 1000 and love the 6" coil it comes with for the sensitivity to fine gold. Just like you suggest....it takes practice to really get to know your machine. Keep up the great vids!
Hi Pauly, my husband and I have been following you for a while now, we started prospecting for gold in 2010 when he retired; but just started watching your videos last year when we got a new tv that gets internet connections! We have learned a lot from watching you and Dan Hurd, thanks for the great videos! In the one above, you found an Oneida fork, I looked it up, and they were founded in 1848 (and made on a commune until 1880). (Wikipedia)
Hi Pauly , great video w/ lots of great info. . i have a request for a video , id like to see you do one on showing gold fall out thru water , to show just how heavy it really is . im still amazed that w/ the high flow rate of a sluice that gold does sink so fast to get caught in the matting . thanks for all the great videos an all the info you provide !
Great work Pauly! Thanks for all the great knowledge and awesome videos! We wanna see them all, even if you got notta because it shows how to read the river. Hope to see you out there somewhere sometime!
though I had some problem with sea water It also ruclips.net/user/postUgkxa-FNYUOM93a388gi9a4brtSCEVmrHgJH land for finding any things very easily. (thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn
Love your videos, helps get my candy fix when I can't get out. Can't wait until your merch is available, definitely looking forward to that. Keep up the awesome work!!
Awesome video Pauly!! Your a great teacher. Always wondered how u set up your detector and differentiate all the different sounds so thank u!! What metal detector do u suggest for someone starting out that’s affordable??
Pauly, That was a good demo on ground balancing. Ground balancing is very simple. I don't know why but it seems that people have a lot of trouble understanding how it works. It quiets things down and you have to re-balance when it starts to get noisy, sometimes fairly often. This was a good video on gold detecting with the GB II, it's my go-to machine also.
I know it’s tough to put out videos. My wife has a channel and the struggle to put out content is real. But we enjoy so much watching your videos and content. It’s much the same when we get good comments on our videos. It’s that motivating factor. Just know that when you put out a video. People will watch it. Like it and love it. Thanks for uploading and keeping on pauly.
I don't think I've ever anticipated a video from any other RUclipsr, than I have your channel. Very cool vids. Maybe those fangs remind me of Peter Steele.
Thanks for the ground balancing tip brother. I just got my first detector and in not sure if it's any good. It was given to me and looks a bit rough. But the more I watch you the more I want to try this. I sent you a message on facebook asking some questions but i'm getting the answers from watching more episodes. Maybe one day, once I start panning we can get together as we live within a few hours of each other. Keep it up and good luck finding that big gold brother!
hi pauly i would love to do what you do, but i don't have the energy and i,m too old to scrabble over the rocks like you. so its great to follow your adventures on my computer. thank you for working so hard. you a good man, god bless you.
Nice finds, I had that detector but found it to be a pain in public accessible areas(lots of garbage), and heavily mineralized areas that required ground balancing constantly, but was very sensitive!!
Funny, I found a fork detecting yesterday, along with a couple 1 and 2 cent pieces. Oh, I also found a few one and two dollar coins! As one and 2 cent coins are no longer used they are great finds for me. What a beautiful place to detect and find gold, great vid Pauly! What I'd like to see you do now is come back to this place with sniping gear, your detector, pan and sluice and do a multi disciple vid using all your skills to clean that place up. Hopefully you'll snare enough gold to get your butt back here to Auz! Love your vids so much can't wait to see you here again :)
You know man, if it's a part of it, share one of your unlikely search! That can be fun, and make people realized that it's not that easy. Truely speaking from Ohio where I carried tons of durt to find almost nothing. But passion of gold mining doesn't come from something else that not giving up :D We're not fowlling you just for your gold, but for how fun and how well processed your videos are. Man, you rock. Thanks a lot!
Yes he does rock : D I found him when he transitioned form native artifacts to gold. Its been a joy seeing his channel grow and his skill at finding gold improve!
Do you keep all your gold or sell it every time you find some? It would be cool to see all the gold you found in the past couple of years in a big pile
Awesome........I live in San Francisco but have been AU/Gold hunting all around Sac. and The American River area, you rock, Dude!! Keep up the Pioneering.......... :)
Unbelievable Pauly, the quick setup explanation for the GB2 was perfect, bettering I just got mine 2 weeks ago and been looking for videos on tuning it and understanding it. You did better than the fisher videos and anything around. The concept of Just using the small know on reject until it sounds balanced and then fine tuning with bigger was just what I needed to hear. All other videos don't explain the ground reject and it's function other than ground balancing. I feel confident now to use it.
Hey Pauly, love your vids man. Just wondering if you have a pinpointer to use in those small spaces. Oh yeah, how about a smaller camera like those go pro things and have it attached to you so you can use both hands.
I would love to see you get back in the water again and get some underwater footage, I know it's hard, but these hot summer days could feel good in that cold water. Keep up the great work!
Great hunt. Tough going but that's how gold is with a detector. I looked around for that Rogers pattern, briefly, but wasn't able to find an exact match. Although it does remind me of an Art Nouveau style from the 1920's. I detect a lot of forests here in Ohio and finding silverplate gives me a clue as to what age the area was hunted, farmed etc... A little more detail and it could be found as almost all of that stuff is collectable. Great vid Pauly and keep up the good work! If I lived up there, we'd be camping overnight!
Polly you do a really good job with your videos Man. I think you're the best one out there, very thorough on everything you do except for showing where you're getting your gold, hahaha you're so complete with everything I have no questions in the end, very entertaining and inspirational to actually get out there and do it myself. Could you speak a little bit about claims,if you have one, if you need one, stuff like that. Thanks for sharing.
I watched this twice because it's a great video and Pauly ROCKS! Was that your sister recording for a bit ... Give her the credit, she's cool! Paulllyyy!!!
Thanks for demonstrating some more information about how to tune in your gold-bug 2. I purchased one about a month ago and only used it a couple of times and my ground is extremely scattered with iron, natural iron in the ground. I would like to see if you can your demonstration using the switches in the front to discriminate a little better against iron or hot rocks on highly mineralized ground. Thanks for the entertaining video.
Great vid. Fisher make some great detectors that are understated in today's crop of newer rigs. Nice job showing how to GB for conditions, and congrats on those pickers. I'm a White's guy running a plain MXT and V3i. Wish we had good gold around here to shoot for.
One slight problem with headphones in the wilds of BC... Bears and cougars could be in the area. I'd like to hear the stuff snapping branches in the forest... Just my 2cents...
Thanks for the upload I planned on buying one and this has helped a lot and answered some questions I had, now I’m happy to go ahead and get one your a star
I found a US navy butterknife in the desert..kinda weird. It went to some naval sailors set. I love finding treasures that bring so much history and question how they ended up there or who was using it..way cool
I would like to see the real time panning dirt. With what you’re thinking while you do it. Also I would like to see you do a Friday, Saturday, & Sunday camping while panning. “Gold N Weekend Camping” You could have friends with you. I think it would make a great video. Have you seen the hand held detector used with metal detectors. I think it would be great in those crevices. Happy Panning ❣️
Great videos, I've been enjoying them! I just got into panning with my son this year and I look forward to buying a detector...ideally without using his college fund. :-) Between the Gold Bug Pro and Gold Bug II what would you say the difference is?
You're in Canada? This is neat! The terrain you are working reminds me of my old digs in Plumas county in California, where we camped 2 weeks per year(in the 80's). Very similar rock formation, but a deep water hole nearby, so I know I would find A LOT of lead fishing weights given that and the fact that there are many granite rocks to perch oneself onto, while fishing. So, maybe better to get a detector that can reject lead? I am considering buying a gold bug 2 and going back to my old prospecting location. Gold is where you find it. There is a large vein of quartz that runs at about a 90 degree angle to the river that can be accessed above the water line.
Oneida silverware has been around since 1880 .. if you google image search you will see a similar fork with that cut out in the middle of the prongs like yours.. not sure how old but I think it had plastic around that handle at some point or something ^_^
I have always been interested in metal detecting. Not so much for gold nuggets (I live in jersey) but for finding jewelry and cool things. What’s the best beginners detector I should get? Thanks and love ur videos!
Paula. I always enjoy your videos. My experience is nil, though I have been educating myself some by watching you and others. I have two newbies questions? Are there different grades of gold, and secondly, where do you cash in, if you choose? Thanks.
Great video once again. And what a beautiful place and weather! Nice. One guestion tought, you mention quite often about the battery but How long actually does the battery last in Gold Buck 2 in use after it is fully charged?

I need that merch
Will we be able to buy some of your found gold nuggets.

So awesome Pauly....GB should pay you for this)) The best instructions ever!!!

Good to see you back mr Pauley!!! Its always a pleasure to watch your adventures
The Gold Bug came through for you. Beautiful nugget! Definitely an area that needs more attention. Great video, thanks Pauly.
That was the simplest best explanation for ground balancing. I scratched my head many times reading tesoros instructions. You made it simple! Awesome
Hi Pauly, my husband and I have been following you for a while now, we started prospecting for gold in 2010 when he retired; but just started watching your videos last year when we got a new tv that gets internet connections!

First vid I watched of you. Gotta say very entertaining, educational. Thanks man
Awesome video Pauly!! Your a great teacher. Always wondered how u set up your detector and differentiate all the different sounds so thank u!! What metal detector do u suggest for someone starting out that’s affordable??

Yessss i have been waiting for the metal detector video!! :D
Thanks sooo much dude👍👌
Thanks Pauly, best gold mining vids on the internet !
You know what they say, “spooning leads to forking”!
Hahaa good one 🤘🤪
I know it’s tough to put out videos. My wife has a channel and the struggle to put out content is real. But we enjoy so much watching your videos and content. Whats the channel name?
Digging up new crevicing tools, nice.
I don't think I've ever anticipated a video from any other RUclipsr, than I have your channel. Very cool vids. Maybe those fangs remind me of Peter Steele.
I'd like to see Pauly chug a bottle of wine like that guy! Carnivore is sick.
Hidden Hand Not gonna happen... never be another Green Man
You spoon was lonely and found a friend. Lol. Nice gold! Is the gold bug 1 very different?
Glen Timmins yes the gold bug pro and se are great relic and coin hunters. I love me SE had it for 5 years and it’s still going strong!
Is gold bug 2 waterproof ? Or just the coil waterproof?
Thanks for the ground balancing tip brother. I just got my first detector and in not sure if it's any good. It was given to me and looks a bit rough. You do a great job of explaining everything, even though I have been prospecting for many years. I would recommend using a safety pan when panning.
Funny, I found a fork detecting yesterday, along with a couple 1 and 2 cent pieces. Oh, I also found a few one and two dollar coins! As one and 2 cent coins are no longer used they are great finds for me.

I liked all of the tuning info. You also did a great job demoing the benefit of that little detector head vs coin detector for the park.
You know man, if it's a part of it, share one of your unlikely search! That can be fun, and make people realized that it's not that easy. Truely speaking from Ohio where I carried tons of durt to find almost nothing. But passion of gold mining doesn't come from something else that not giving up :D

Apparently you have never been in that northern water it's cold cold cold I used to live right near there

Well met Ohio Dirt Fisher! do you upload videos???
@@insolentstickleback3266 Yes, was doing a number of them a year or so ago then put it off. Going to start again before the end of summer.
Another great video. I was in Ontario recently but unfortunately had no time to look for gold. Hopefully I can get back out there some day.
Hey Pauly, do you ever use a Pin pointer after you've used the detector ?
Muito ouro my brother!!!!! Muito legal seus vídeos e o resultado magnífico!!!!!!! GOLD!!!!!!!
Sweet outing, nice bit of work with your detector and nice gold...Best of luck in your next adventure 👍

Hi from Belfast Northern Ireland just wanted to say you're a breath of fresh air ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Well done pauly cracking day on the detector
Thanks Paula! I’m actually gonna hit the Northern California rivers this weekend.
One slight problem with headphones in the wilds of BC... Bears and cougars could be in the area. I'd like to hear the stuff snapping branches in the forest... Just my 2cents...
Deffinately a factor. It worries me too.
Thanks for the upload I planned on buying one and this has helped a lot and answered some questions I had, now I’m happy to go ahead and get one your a star
The fork is a Roger series Oneida LTD triple plated silver. Post 1935 era . I went google geek for ya to find that out :D Nice gold Pauly!
I found a US navy butterknife in the desert..kinda weird. It went to some naval sailors set. I love finding treasures that bring so much history and question how they ended up there or who was using it..way cool

nice seeing someone use a Gold bug, I have one (haven't found any gold with it.....bottle caps, lead shot, few coins).
Enjoyed learning about the gold bug 2. Great gold, Pauly!!
You're in Canada?

Pauly do you prospect during winter?
Hey Paul, Im a new follower found you from following Vo gus Prospecting.
might be a dumb question but are you From Canada?

Oneida silverware has been around since 1880 .. if you google image search you will see a similar fork with that cut out in the middle of the prongs like yours.. not sure how old but I think it had plastic around that handle at some point or something ^_^
Good description on how to use that detector Pauly ! Don't touch my 20 gram nugget hidden nearby you my friend.Lol.....
Forking good video Pauly, nice finds.
Have you ever tried to pan the contents of the culvert pipe which is visible at 11:23 ?
I dumped all my minelabs and bought the goldbug 2. So much less diggin. The best demo on ground balance for sure... Thanks and keep a diggin...
Hey im glad you liked it! I love the minelabs but sometimes it feels good to do less digging! Have a great day 😊
I have always been interested in metal detecting. Not so much for gold nuggets (I live in jersey) but for finding jewelry and cool things. What’s the best beginners detector I should get? Thanks and love ur videos!
HAY PAULY-PAULIE HERE GOOD SHOW AND CONTENT THANX FOR ALL THE TIPS AND COOL ADVENTURE. LOOKING FORWARD WHAT'S UP NEXT STAY COOL AN KEEP PUSHIN ON!!!
Good video thank you for the onsight tutorial of the gold bug detector.
Thanks champ
Very informative from an Aussie fan!
👍🏻
A lead ball bearing? lol You don't fish much, do you? That was a nice chunky piece, I'm willing to bet you will be back. Nice job!

Very informative video pauly!! I learned a lot maybe someday I’ll buy a detector. Thanks buddy
Hey Beefy P. Looking forward to your next upload! Eric in Oregon.
