Everyone talks how gold ores should not spawn so close to ground level But noone mentions that there literally is bedrock next to river, that is illegal

I am 34 and have a very promising waterfall on my families property. Never done it before, but am excited and have definitely been inspired by your video. Thanks and keep adventuring
Those vertical layers in the bedrock seem to be working like a natural riffle box. There is a source for that gold somewhere upstream, some place that is releasing it.
Sometimes, there is no "motherlode" in this sense sometimes ancient rusty rocks weather in place, drop the gold and have blown or been washed away. However, that said, sometimes you can find gold associated with quartz veining but motherlode deposits can also contain invisible gold that was originally dissolved in acidic hydrothermals.
When I was much younger, I did gold sniping like you do as well and I found, if I carried about a 30 inch piece of plastic fish tank air tubing, I could get a more-concentrated stream of air to blow the debris out of holes and if it was light enough, it would blow out and NOT get in my eyes.
Love knowing the value !!! I know it’s not worth the time really but your making double money doing something u enjoy. Videos and gold. Sounds like a win to me !
I really wish I had seen you, Chris, and Dan back in my day. I used to live in Golden, Colorado, spent many a weekend hiking in the Central City and Blackhawk area mountains. I can't believe how blissfully unaware of the fortunes that, no doubt, was just sitting all around me back then. Can't tell you how many streams I camped next to miles back in the Rockies that, thinking back on it now. almost certainly had large gold deposits all through them. I honestly think I could have made a nice penny just panning on my trips. I can remember one week long excursion when a friend and I were dropped off in a narrow canyon, just two lanes wide, up near Central City, and we climbed up into an adjoining canyon that had a stream coming out of it. It was pretty much climbing over rocks and boulders the whole way up, there was no flat ground to walk on, just the rock walls of the canyon and the rushing stream between. We had climbed about 2,000 feet up the mountain when we found a huge metal gear, aprrox. 8 feet across, lashed to the cliffside with metal cables. It had to weigh a couple hundred tons. I'm guessing it was for some mining purpose, somebody must have had big plans for something up that canyon! There was NO way that thing was moved by any other means than human hands. There was no way any kind of pack animal was climbing what we climbed unless they were mountain goats, so they couldn't have used mules to winch it up there. It looked like they managed to get it to where we found it, and then just gave up. I can't begin to imagine how they got it as far up the mountain as they did.
