Love the Ramones influence, esp love watching each of your left hands move up and down on the frets in the same way that Johnny and DeeDee's did ...thus the reason theRamones were so good, buzzsaw guitar and bass sound great when riffing in harmony!
@roydagger I have processed the original track in Cool Edit Pro to remove about 70% of the bass and guitar so what you're hearing is actually us. Our bass and guitar were recorded separately and mixed in later. (the ending of the song is the give-away)
@DlAMANTH Yeah, I record the rhythm guitar always twice for a fuller sound. It's common studio practice. I have been told that Sex Pistol's Steve Jones recorded his guitar for Never Mind The Bollocks 17 times lol!
@madeinquebec As far as I know also Dee Dee played downstrokes but since you play single notes most of the time, the strumming direction is less important.
Alright! I like! +1 There ain't nothing like the Fender p-bass sound! Correct me if I'm wrong, but did Deedee use a pick often? I googled it and apparently he would use the pick. I also assume he wasn't restraining himself to play only downstrokes like Johnny did. I'm just thinking outloud here. Deedee rules, I love him. RIP Deedee, Joey, Johnny.
