- This might not be the most famous song by the Ramones, but it's certainly my favourite! It's a masterpiece, from start to finish. The melody, the lyrics, the key change, and of course those epic sing along choruses. Was an honour to cover this one with some new, and old friends.

There's just something about this song, man. I love all the Ramones songs, but this one still gives me the fucking chills just like the first time.

It’s such a feel good song. My favorite by the ramones. I remember hearing this song in School of Rock as a kid and been a Ramones fan ever since.

I think everyone here remembers the moment when they discovered the magic that is the Ramones. Shortly before they broke up I remember them being pissed that they were being overshadowed by newer punk bands and not getting the credit they deserve. I wish they could only know how much they have influenced all of our lives and how much of a difference they made in the history of rock and roll. This video is proof of the mark they left on all of our lives. I'd say more but I feel my words would only get in the way so I'll leave it at this... GABBA GABBA HEY!
Great comment! Yes - I remember. I Wanna Be Sedated and Beat on the Brat changed my life forever. Same with the DK's - will never forget the first time I heard Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables, sometime around 1984, I think.

Here in Argentina for us the Ramones are like superheroes who helped us through their songs to fight day after day against all frustration or negative things in life, they are as great as the Beatles, they gave us a reason to continue believing that it is worth it life with all the good and bad in it. thanks for this beautiful cover hey ho lets go!

99% sure it's Joey's lyrics and Dee Dee's chord changes, with whichever producer they had at the time (Jean Beavoir or Daniel Rey?) doing the arrangement. :)

@@e-dawgkittycat2255 I'm quite certain lyrics are Joeys. He's been quoted as saying he wrote it while watching that summit of Reagan visiting the Graves of the SS on TV and then the subsequent conversation. (Or vice versa)
Doesn't matter which one wrote it what matters is it exists HAIL THE MIGHTY MIGHTY RAMONES
As far as my knowledge goes, Joey wrote most of the lyrics, Dee Dee came with THE CHORUS (it's so perfect It has to be written in caps) and Beauvoir did the arrangements, as well as creating the intro.
And not to say anything bad about this AWESOME, KICKASS cover, but Joey sings (at least in studio) that he drank in bars "To Understand your foreign policy", like he's talking directly to Bonzo. Anyway, surely one of the best songs ever, and this cover damn sure does it justice. Thanks a ton!

Only found these today ... made an old (OLD!) punk very happy - especially with the inclusion of Bonzo here. I remember buying it on the good old 45 rpm vinyl when I was a lad. Very different from my usual diet of Crass, Broken Bones, Flux, Discharge - I thought I was going to get arrested by the Anarcho Police! Excellent work!

Best cover ever.
Not only is this one of my favorite Ramones songs but this cover is absolutely phenomenal. This was my first introduction to your "Mikey and his Uke" series and I had just just gotten sober in probably the hardest year any of us have endured in our lives and was feeling raw as all hell. This version of this song made me feel all of the feels and I wept. I wasn't even totally sure why I was weeping but I know it made me feel hope, seeing everyone together even if it was just through telecom. I am now 1yr and 4days sober and this song still invokes major fees and I have been a fan of this series and look forward to new releases even though I understand that as things open back up to normal(ish) we get less and less of them. I digress, thank you Mikey for all of these amazing jams and all of your hard work to make these videos and all those involved in the process. Love. Love. Love.

I really like these pop songs on Animal Boy (Bonzo, Something to Believe in and She Belongs to Me) and Too Tough to Die (Howling at the Moon, Chasing the Night and Daytime Dilemma). I consider those the best songs the band made after Pleasant Dreams.

I can’t believe the energy this pulls through me. I have watched and listened at least a 100 times and saw the Ramones play it live at least 30 times, just incredible what you all are doing with all of these great artists. Somewhere there is a six foot six inch tall, long black haired spirit with a rarely seen smile and railing his mic stand back and forth and is proud of you all not just for the greatness of this song, but the entire colab jam thing repping great bands across this great, energetic musical spectrum. Again, thank you so much for saving many of us and bringing us the memories and power of the days we all spent thrashing by board, bike, in the pit or other.
