I saw Joey sing a song with Dee Dee's band at the Lakeside Lounge in NYC-totally impromptu. Joeys voice filled that club-it was amazing. Another time I was walking down Third ave and past the Continental, and he was rehearsing with the Joey Ramone group-during the day. They were playing "Danny Says' and so we went over and peeked through the shades. A small crowd started to form. Everyone got really happy. It was one those magic NY moment. This was not long before he died. I miss Joey.
One of the best Ramones concert video's ever posted. The sound quality is amazing. It makes u feel like u are in the crowd..Johnny's guitar is off the charts how great it sounds!
+Michael Gonzalez The impact of the song is gone by that time. None of them are too big on it. Johnny plays it for sake of a good show, but hates the song
+Michael Gonzalez notice how Johnny stayed back, looking down and looking away for most of the song snd slow walked to the front of the stage looking away and not interested in the song.
my fave song! these guys had a huge effect on me, and still do.... oh yea I'm 39 and still have my Ramones self titled album I got when I was 7...although you can almost see thru it, it's been played so much LoL
Sometimes there are different bootlegs from the same concert. Maybe someone had access to the soundbord, some other one filmed it with his VHS cam. Later on, they two will merge to one. It happened quite often
R.I.P. Johnny Ramone... 7 years to the day. This song shows that despite his strongly conservative views he was willing to accept others' opinions and play this song with Joey and the crew. All good cretins go to heaven, so I bet Johnny's up there.
@@898joker1 none who are original members Tommy was the last to die. He set the classic Ramones drumbeat. He played on the first three or four albums. Marky had to keep up with the original Tommy beat. DeeDee wrote too many great song lyrics to count him out. Sometimes he only did the lyrics and album sessions, not touring. He continued writing songs well into the 80s and it was Dee Dee's more liberal lyrics clash with Johnny's conservative views that made the band. This song has the bend of Joey & Dee Dee. Legends forever.
@@phillipcarpenterjr1576 Richie, Marky, and CJ might have not been original members but they’re still Ramones. Can’t forget about Richie’s writing/musical contributions to band and also CJ making the band feel young again.
@@bobgreen8142 Velvet Underground, yes. Joy Division I never hear of on any regular basis, in fact never. But then it's not my kind of music and no one I know likes that kind of music or even knows them.
joey!!!!!!!! sabes nunca los pude ver en vivo pero eso debe haber sido una locura verlos en vivo ubiera dado mi brazo por verlos grande papa ramones !!!!!! por siempre !!!!
LOL 2:53 " SLOAAWW MEE DOONWWHHG!!!!" johnny is awesome in this video, but dee dee looks so quiet =( Bonzo Goes to Bitburg without the backing vocal "naa-nanana" makes joey look so lonely! R.I.P RAMONES !!!!!!!!!
@metaller8 No, dude, I'm sure. Look at the end of the video when they leave the stage, you can see that is Dee Dee when he raises his hands. CJay only joined the band in 1989, and this show was in 1987. Cj always did the backing vocals, it could not be him. = D
Normally I listen to any kind of music but there was a time for me back in hi school when i only listened to shit load of ramones songs from every album i liked averagely like 5 or 6 song. this band was an underrated and genre creating legend.
Yup, written by Dee Dee. I'd almost say thats him on bass here. CJ was a spaz and Dee Dee did a couple shows with them before he died and he looked just like that, just stood there..barely moved.
what year did you see them?? i live in tennessee too but only moved here a few years ago so it would have been too late anyway!! oh, i'm so envious of you!!! :)
@34tgroan funny thing was that johnny was a dedicated republican - one of the few in punk rock, and one of the few in his new york neighborhood. however, the ramones operated truly democratically, so johnny's vote to not have an anti-regan song was overwhelmed by the rest of the band. johnny's willingness to rock out, even when it went against his personal point of view is truly admirable. i wish more of american politics worked that way! god bless these guys.
@highschoolmusical841 Sure, I love this book and I'm sure the ramones fans would like too. I'm glad to know that more people also follow the story of the Ramones for this book. Dee Dee is great! Gabba Gabba Hey
I dunno why, there's something about the power and emotion in this song that makes me want to cry. I love it
Same
Hell yeah!!!!
Me the past week
It's gets me really uplifted too...overcoming energy...making it through☺️
School of Rock montage nailed it, this song nails punk and was about shitting on Reagan the grandaddy Man. Cheers and rock on peace on Earth 2024
"If there's one thing that makes me sick, it's when someone tries to hide behind poiltics" one of the best lyrics I've ever heard.

my dad walked in while i was playing this and said "turn this shit up" and started playing air guitar...
That's punk rock my friend.
This song makes me cry, it makes me think of my dad, who passed away, im 15 and I cant hold it in when I hear this song
Who cares if you're 15 or 55.This music has never had any barriers or boxes to be kept in.Share it with your friends and crank it in your car.
I usually hates handheld recordings of concerts but this is kinda cool,it feels intimate, and it's pretty good quality, kinda like being in 1987.
the sound quality is astonishingly good... perfect mix of guitar and vocals
Probably my favourite song of all time. At the moment anyway. No matter what phase of music I start listening to it always comes back to the Ramones!
One of the best Ramones concert video's ever posted. The sound quality is amazing. It makes u feel like u are in the crowd..Johnny's guitar is off the charts how great it sounds!
a real high point in the Ramones carieer. People shouldn't ignore their later records,. they are just as good as their early albums.
Congratulations on not using the word underrated when talking about their later records
Where is Dee Dee with them naaaa na na na's?!?
around this time, dee dee was losing interest. he slacks off a lot in shows from 87-89

I just turned 68. My fave Ramones track. RIP Joey.
The person who recorded it must be a time traveler, cause the sound is so dam good

Ramones eterno, escuta no carro em casa no serviço...sou viciado nessa banda..

Saw them LIVE 3 times!
This is my favorite Ramones song, and I dedicate it to my SongPop friend Shannon from Pennsylvania, who just loves the Ramones!
this song is a masterpice.
that crowd is way too calm
it's the end of the set... they are exhausted
Da ne postoji GEZA iz Raklja, nikad te ne bi slušao u 80" -ima,i danas te rado slušam Ramone Team.
Man i love this song, everytime i listen to it makes me sad how only one is left....
:(((((((
And now none of the og members are alive....Well, at least we still have Marky out and about
MasterOfKnowledge yeah, there Still Richie, CJ and Marky all with their own groups.

I saw The Ramones in concert. Wasn't my favorite concert and people seem to like them way more today than back then.
