👀 ABOUT THIS VIDEO
Cloud Kitchen/Virtual Kitchens has been all the craze. The messages I'm getting also points to that interest. But virtual kitchens has transformed slightly ever since they started. Before, it was simple and only revolved around a food brand preparing food in a kitchen and uses a food delivery app like Uber Eats, Door Dash, or Grubhub to deliver the food to the customer. This independent model is still the most popular, but new business models have spawned to bring more flexibility or experimentation to cloud kitchens.
For example, the Multi-Brand Cloud Kitchen model brings the advantage of how you can create multiple food brands under one kitchen and experiment to see which makes for a better product fit. Rebel Foods in India does this incredibly well by using data to inform the brands they'll create to bring to neighbourhoods.
Regardless which business model you eventually gravitate to, you want to consider the factors like ambition, stress and risk before you choose the right one.
So if you're a restaurant owner, restaurateur, food business owner, food entrepreneur, small business owner, this video is for you!

You are welcome!
Do a video on the startup costs for the various types of cloud kitchens. Thanks.
how to start own delivery rather than depending on aggregator due to high amount commission charges. and by the way man ur content is really knowledge giving.. great work 👍
totally. go google "your city + cloud kitchen" to get more info :)
Great video im starting a second Brand for my little but but efficient kitchen👍
That's awesome Diego!! Congrats on the second baby ;) What was your first concept and what is going to be your second?
Hi Wilson! I love your videos and information about the Ghost kitchens, I have a signed contract and will be opening my own in March of 2021 in Austin Tx. I am really wanting to do the 2nd concept but wasn't sure if I will need to register each (DBA or LLC) of the virtual brands individually?
Did you start?
U r great Sir 👍
U as well :)
What about a subscription instead of on demand food delivery ? Would be quite popular among college students, or office workers for lunch.
Looking to do amid ground level with our food truck. Already have a successful restaurant but have a location for our truck. Customers can order at the truck plus we will also have delivery available as well. Thanks always for your advice and tips.
Awesome stuff! Where’s your shop at?

I have joined cloud kitchen.
Great 👍
Why do major chains start cloud kitchens, they already have everything? Chilis has Its Just Wings as an exclusive 3rd party with door dash, couldn't they just sell it themselves?
Hello. Thanks for the video. A couple of things... A) If you lease a low-rent space in the outskirts, wouldn't the delivery fee be higher and discourage potential customers from ordering? B) The Food Delivery Service can force you to pay $500 for advertising? C) How can you avoid being at the bottom, the last page of the App? Thanks!
Thanks. Good summary. Personally cloud kitchens don’t appeal to me.
Nice video! Do You have some Digital tools that you want to recommend us to operate these models?
none that i've tried that i can vouch for at the moment.
@@WilsonKLee I will contact you via email to give you a list of tools that are free and they can be utilized by your community

@Wilson : Interesting, as always... And what do you think of the business model of Kitchen United? Which doesn't cook anything but offers places to cook? A bit like a co-working place... It's another and 7th business model. I seem to remember that they raised 250 million from Google venture. I'm pretty sure that you know this story Wilson : During the gold rush, the only people who really made a fortune were those who sold shovels and picks. Regards.
its interesting and a different business model altogether. can't compare the two. i've learnt this the hard way when i started my ice cream shop and the franchise operations at the same time. totally two different business.
@@WilsonKLee Thank you for your answer. We would be interested to have a specific video on this. Step 1 is to develop your business. The next step is to manage franchises, and it's very different... I've come up against a different but similar point: selling my software to hotels, and managing franchise partners. Indeed two very different and difficult approaches.
Let me sleep all night in your Ghost Kitchen
Keep me warm by your gentle stove
Turn me out and I'll wander, baby
Stumblin' in the neon grove.
Monopoly model its not for food brand, but for kitchen brand, like Grab Kitchen
I think you should note customer profile such as name address and phone number so that you can follow them up after buying from 3rd party apps and do some open order system then hire some freelence delivery guy and charge base on address i think save a lot better than 3rd party apps
totally! great strategy! are you in the industry? any other insights to share?
@@WilsonKLee well I'm doing some take away coffee and some asian preorder food and have inhouse and some outsource courier and can save some money from it
Nice. Where abouts?
@@WilsonKLee i do on indonesia, surabaya city if you got time to visit indonesia come visit us
Bryan, I completely agree with you. By the way there is a free electronic tool that helps capture all o the client's information and you can make your own delivery and bring to you all the technology to make your own deliveries like GPS services and you can integrate your own social media and sell through your social media and recieve orders directly in your kitchen and you send with your own delivery man and this tool let's you have the technology to do it. You can use it for free. Its meniuu.com......I have communicated with Wilson about letting the community know about this tool but he is yet to see that it's better to make our own deliveries than using third party apps and having a stranger enter our homes...Well I hope for Wilson to make a review of the tool. Finally, this tool is free and I think it is a valuable tool to this community.
What is the difference between cloud kitchen and normal food delivery like just-eat or a similar company? Unless you do your own marketing (which is not for people doing a completely different job than marketing) I can cook and then call whoever delivers it. I don't see the difference unless you let me know. Thanks
Cloud kitchen and food delivery companies work in tandem. They aren't comparables. You'd want to think cloud kitchen vs. restaurant instead of Cloud Kitchen vs. Food delivery company.
In the Multi-Brand Cloud Kitchen model you can create multiple food brands under one kitchen but do you need to found several companies with their own capital share? Thanks in advanced from Italy
depends on how you structure your business. it could be under - Andrea's kitchen - that has multiple brands from that with the same share holders.
or Wilson's Kitchen - A & B shareholders + Andrea's kitchen - A & C shareholders.
I watched how Chili's has Its Just Wings, I always wondered why they aren't allowed to sell the menu they have through the 3rd party app. Why do companies like Chilis sign a exclusive agreement, couldn't they do it on their own?
Brinker international owns Chillis and magiano's so they are doing it on their own. They utilize the name It's Just wings to try to get new and old customers to order from them. A large amount of people don't know where wings are cooked/made from Chilli's & maggiano's. I've been utilizing "ghost kitchens" for the last 5 years because the restaurant I took over had a "bad reputation" a lot of people would rather pay more than support my existing restaurant.
Exactly!
Trefotech food and beverage from Assam India is doing good
Thanks for the heads up! Will take a look at them!
How do you get customers this way how do you go about marketing your food, I make bomb free range chicken wings and tenders with sauces .
join the fb group and ask.
Finally all the money goes to 3rd party app as what they do for Taxi you know how much they charge right now for delivery from 25% to 35%
Totally. That’s why I’m covering lots on this topic so I can help people use these apps properly and actually make some profit
what else are you going to do? have your own fleet of delivery drivers, like dominos?
Swole Papi watch my other vids on cloud kitchen
I have talked to Wilson about him posting a video where he talks about a tool that is free and will help restaurants to solve that problem. Leaving out the three party apps and offering the business to keep the profits. The tool is called meniuu.com but it requires a video to explain several aspects and important info. To conclude, I am not sure why Wilson has not tried to adopt this tool. If you would like to check the tool out you can check out the website for free.
Wilson tank you mention the issue but the truth is the country with out any control or law all the profit I will say it again goes to this third party company's ,we saw what happens to taxi meddalions owners,we saw this on amazon won everything over every small stores or manufacturers how they press to decrease the profit they make as long as the plat form is theirs ,now the turn comes to restaurant owners loose everything soon, you know who invest a lot on this cloud kitchen the ruthless klanick the former owner of uber I wish you guys talk how are we gonna get the protection like other country's with law's , we need to do stop promoting for those who are coming to own you as the slave, if you don't believe me please talk to meddalia owners or uber driver, taxi driver, any manufacturer small to big what is going on real time the big answer will be (SLAVERY)
Is Wilson's Waffle real? Are you referring to Wilson's Waffle as the The Original Belgian Waffle wilsonswaffles.com? So, does it mean Wilson's Waffle is using all the 6 business models at once?
Actually had no idea there was an actual shop named that. In the video I just made it up as an example. Interesting find Sandi!
can someone follow the first/second model, but instead of a cloud kitchen, its your kitchen at home?
If your city allows it then yes. Some require commercial kitchen.
That outsourcing model is definitely a scam model. Call that a scammer model.
As this model grows the rate charged will drop
And it will transform/get disrupted too!
So this is the new norm of restaurants?! So what about customers that still enjoy going to packed restaurants to socialize and have a few cocktails?! How do you expect to maximize your profit when liquor sales do just that compared to food? Not a big fan of this at all. Just my opinion
Postmates grubhub uber eats doordash all bull shit we pay 30% for them and 20% for employees and 20%for food cost and 30 % for utilities and rent where is our profit ?
That’s why we should not use 3rd party app is profit generator, but rather as a lead generator. :)
@@WilsonKLee yes that's why you need to talk about something new we can make make prorofit with it how about facebook chops can we sell hot food or no !
