Great tips on how to start up a Ghost Kitchen. Do honestly think this concept of virtual restaurants will be more and more popular in the next few years to come.
its definitely true. rules of the games have changed, you just need to know how to leverage, pivot and adapt to it. industrys never going to be the same again. :)
Thank you for making this video which I find really helpful for starters like me, and unlike many 'how to' videos that have strings attached, this video came across to me as insightful, sincere, and honest. Good luck with your endeavors.
Very good up to the point where you say ≤ 10 items on your menu. For ghost kitchens?! Really?! It’s like a website without optimised search engine tags
Your content is really great and super informative. Watching your videos refocused my mindset to what I should prioritise. Thank you for doing what you do!
When I eat out I look for food to buy that is too complex to make at home. So in restaurants offerings I look for expresso coffee, Beef Wellington, Moussaka etc. Am I the exception? Do most people look for a simple burger, fries, smoking ice cream?! Probably!
What concept will integrate all the 3rd party apps? I see Chowly will do a few, and there are others but still no single app will do: Hngr, Seamless, Postmates, Uber and Ritual. Thanks. Great video.
Things ARE changing, been following the trend for nearly a decade now. Unfortunately digital heads have to become humble and find a way to market back to the people without stealing from them. This generation will find new ways since social media influence seemed to have halted. With that being said my head is buzzing on how the ghost kitchens market as succeed. Edit: just realized that’s some of your content I subscribed
Thank you so much for the huge amount of valuable information in this video, I have a question people, can anyone name few Order management systems ? I would like to know more about these systems. Thank you so much in advance ^^
I used to manage a ghost kitchen in Santa Monica. I am opening my own next week in Oregon and just found out from Uber Eats Merchant Center, that they are NO LONGER accepting GHOST KITCHENS!!! This sucks! They are only allowing restaurants to offering additional virtual concepts that already have a storefront for walk in customers on the platform. For complete ghost kitchens operating out of warehouse commissary kitchens we are SOL!! I have Doordash, grubhub etc but without Ubereats/Postmates, we need more ideas of where to market our services.
How about going door to door to local businesses in your area? The owners and employees of those businesses live in homes in that area and they eat. An in person visit with a smiling face and a menu (and maybe a "first time discount" coupon...?) might work..
Hey Wilson, a couple questions for you please. 1. What is the name of the order management system platform you mentioned that is a replacement for multiple tablets? 2. Also, any recommendations for how I can find alternative drivers/delivery companies outside of the big names?
Me and my partner are doing this in our small town which is in dire need of restaurants alone I’ve been looking into this and I was just wondering what are the actual license needed. We’re just doing burgers and tacos.
Licenses differ each country and city. You need to look into what are required in your geographic location since what is required in Vancouver (where I am) is probably totally different from what you need. Plus some countries are also less restrictive - for instance in some countries, you can start a cloud kitchen from you home kitchen.
Brother you mentioned a point where you said do not have more than 10 items. However, what if i am recruiting already established restaurants shouldn't they offer their actual menu? isn't the idea of cloud kitchen to make existing restaurants go for delivery service? What I mean is that I will not be creating a menu, for example I am offering KFC to open in my cloud kitchen (I know KFC is too big its just an example). A reply would be much appreciated as I could use some information.
@@WilsonKLee 100% but im thinking from the restaurants' point of view if hes ready to do so but you're absolutely right the smaller the better. Maybe I can include a couple if concepts myself to startup
How specific should you audience be? Is it an option to say 'My audience is anybody who lives in X area" or is this too vague and not specific enough? Also, Great video, thank you!
I have been thinking of going after this local pizza franchise and taking it back to my city , my city is like 2 hours away and its well known there there is about 50 parlors here where I'm at now but none out in my other city and I wanna see if they are up on making me their first ghost kitchen what you think of that ?
You'd want to play detective and figure out why there aren't any. Maybe there are but you just don't know? Or is the idea too foreign and not ready to be adopted? Not every city or country innovate at same speeds.
I tried cloud kitchen...and you didn’t tell the down side....you just selling sugar in this video...do you know about 30% charge for the delivery? and I’ll end up making $4.71 per hour...that’s one , the worst part is you have to buy your products and cooking please tell people the truth would you???
This video specifically is all about the steps to get started. I have another video that is all about the pros & cons of cloud kitchens and restaurants. I think it would be ridiculous if everyone in every single video had to reiterate the downsides.
Permits and licenses are different for each state/country - just like how it is different if you were starting a food truck or restaurant - so I highly recommend you ask your local small business association & health department for the most localized details on those. And then make sure the cloud kitchen space you are looking at has the relevant ones.
Not one single step in this process is doable in 20 minutes, much less the whole process. There may be some decent content here, but the title is pure clickbait.

Cloud Kitchen is the future for food business however major 3rd party food apps charge 30% per order :(

What is the minimum amount of menu items you would recommend?

What a very thoughtful video, much appreciated!

Are there restrictions using farm to table for a cloud kitchen? Are there vegan and kosher cloud kitchens?

Planning to start a virtual restaurant. was hoping uber eats would allow it. but doordash and other platforms allow it perfectly fine right?

i believe you just need seller's permit $0 and business permit $80

How to advertise a cloud kitchen?
How do I find a ghost kitchen? What you are suggesting is to rent a spot in a ghost kitchen, right?
google "virtual kitchen + your city". im not suggesting you should, but this is a great alternative for those who fit in this model.
Thankyou
very informative and liked your video
Thanks for liking Subhra!
very heplful. Thanks a lot.
Glad it was helpful Kontos!
My friend is letting my run a ghost kitchen thru his real restaurant, how can I get started ? Do I have him open a DBA thru his corporation?
Great video! How would I do a financial forecast for my ghost kitchen concept?
Great question! feel free to ask in the fb group! members are very generous and would be willing to share.
nice informative video, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Sir I have a doubt . We go first money or branding
can you elaborate on your question?
@@WilsonKLee we thinking about money or focus on branding the restaurant
How or through what media can we market the business ?
whereever your customers hang out. whether it be IG/FB/Linkedin
es muy bueno el video homs
👏👏
I have a question, how do I open a second branch in a region and guarantee that I will not be plagiarized, successful, and not present
go online - google "get rich quick", you will find tons of guarantees there. :) in all seriousness, nothing is guaranteed in business.
I have idea of opening of 5 different brands all prepared from one kitchen. What do you think about that ?
if they are all in different niches, i think it would be a great idea. diversifying is always great.
How specific should you audience be? Is it an option to say 'My audience is anybody who lives in X area" or is this too vague and not specific enough? Also, Great video, thank you!
def too vague. my audience is 16-23, female, post secondary education who loves to travel and go for experiences. her name is michelle :)
It would be better if you go to the point faster!
Anyway good luck
I didn’t enjoy too much explaining about one simple subject (market research)
Thanks for the feedback!
I mean, not everyone knows about the things he is saying so I prefer a thorough explanation of those things.
