Ok, this is super helpful to know the basics in detail. I hope that you have some more videos on the restaurant business. Very good content Adam, thanks.
Hey Sumit. Thank you for the support! I'm elated to hear that our videos are helpful for you. I have a ton of videos already uploaded on this channel if you want more insight into marketing for restaurants. I also have a lot more on the way so feel free to check those out as they come!
It always makes my day to receive comments like this. Thank you so much for the kindness! Do you own a restaurant or are you wanting to do so in the future?
That's awesome to hear! I have a bunch of other content on this channel that might be helpful for you too. Do you own a restaurant or looking to open one? Thanks for supporting!

Thank you for the kind words! Recaps are always a great way to reinforce the most important points. Glad you're enjoying the content. Are you a restaurant owner or looking to open something up?
Hey thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. We are mainly a soup business with a small deli selection and Mexican food. I would love to hear from you since we are a fairly new business and would like to know how to market and advertise our food.
@@owner-com My husband and I will open small restaurant soon and will contact to your team as soon too. Anyways, i still not understand that when using your platform for sale online/delivery (to save fee for third party ubereat,...), mean that our restaurant has to prepare delivery system by ourselves?
Hey! Thank you for commenting and supporting our channel. I saw that your online menu has a few photos, but most menu items don't include any. I would suggest adding high quality photos to your online menu because people are a lot more likely to place an order or add additional items to their order when they can see the food they could be having. It looks like you also have the same address as the gas station you're attached to. I'd recommend getting a suite number added to your address. Multiple businesses having the same address can negatively impact your SEO. Try using keywords that appeal to your cuisine type like "best fufu in Greensboro" or "best African food in Oranjestad."
Thank you!! More to come :) we currently have a backlog of 7 filmed videos bottlenecked in the post-production and animation phase since these take a while to animate properly :)
Hey thanks for the great video, I am currently in the process of adding images to my menu page on website but is there other things I can do to improve my brand? Kanu poké , Shrewsbury , UK Thanks, Katie
Hi Katie! Do you have a certain demographic of people that you cater your brand to currently or a group you notice seem to be some of your most loyal customers currently?
Hey there! I saw that your Google listing has a “Located In” tag that connects your restaurant to the building it’s in. I always recommend having an independent address for your restaurant because businesses with shared addresses tend to have a harder time building SEO. Shared addresses aren’t favored by algorithms. I also clicked on your website and the first thing that I see is a review. I would recommend making photos of your popular menu items more of a focus because this will be what captures someone’s attention and will make them interested in seeing more about the food you offer. I also clicked on your “order online” button and it takes me to a page with no clear path to ordering online. The only option I see is something that seems to encourage me to join your loyalty program or mailing list. I would restructure your order online page just a bit to make it more user friendly to your website visitors. The easier it is for someone to place an order the more likely they are to do it. Thank you for watching!
Hi Adam, thank you so much for putting out all this valuable information. I am a chef at a new vegan cafe and it has been slow. Here's the information on it and whatever you can share with me to improve our business will be so appreciated. "The Cafe at OM, Spring Hill, Florida.
Hey Jeannette! I’d be happy to provide some insight. The first thing I noticed when I looked up, your restaurant is that there is no website attached to the Google listing. I would recommend creating a website and attaching it to your Google listing because websites are very important in building up SEO and attracting people to the brand. I have a lot of content on this channel that can help guide you in creating an effective website if you want to check those out! Cafés can be a competitive cuisine space to be in. This means that it is extra important to build rapport with the local community in order to attract new customers and encourage people to keep coming back. I would recommend increasing the number of reviews that the restaurant has on Google. You have a great 5.0 rating but not a lot of reviews to give that rating credibility. Encourage customers to leave reviews on Google and mention the dishes they tried in the written section. This will look more appealing when potential customers find you online and will help you compete better with the other café options that people have in your area. I hope this is helpful and that business begins to pick up for The Cafe at OM. Wishing you the best!
Man this is eye opening. Thank you so much. Opening and managing a restaurant is a monster I never even imagined I have to face. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. I own a cafe. Been up 8 months. I wanna survive the first year. gobbling all the knowledge I can
Opening a restaurant is an exciting endeavor but one that definitely comes with a lot of new responsibilities and things to learn. I’m incredibly elated to hear that our content has helped you work through the first 8 months. If you want to drop the name and city of your restaurant, I could give you specific insight into your marketing strategy and tips to improve it. Thank you for supporting!
Have you tried adding some keywords? I'm not sure what city you are in, but I'll use Los Angeles as an example. In your case, you can try using keywords like "best pork katsu in Los Angeles" or "best burgers in Los Angeles." This could help you with your search rank!
Hey Amelia! Thank you for watching. The restaurant world can definitely be a lot but hopefully these videos help you as you start to formulate your marketing strategy. Wishing you luck as you prepare to open a restaurant down the road!
Hey there! Interning or shadowing is definitely a great way to learn the ropes from those who are already in the game. Good luck on your journey to becoming a restaurant owner!

Hey Dave! Thank you for commenting. I see two locations on Google. Do you own both the 1004 and 1008 on Monmouth locations or should I look at one of them in specific?
Hey! I apologize for the delay. It’s been a packed couple of days! I searched on Google for “GG Momo and More” and didn’t find a Google My Business listing. Do you have one?
Hi Yasin! Sorry for the delay in response, things can get pretty busy over here. We aren't abroad quite yet but have plans to expand soon. Do you own a restaurant in the UK?
Hey Moleka. Thank you for supporting us and I'm glad to hear that you appreciate the content in this video! Are you a restaurant owner or looking to open something up?
Depends on the goal of the restaurant. Big chains do that, they work on as many checks as possible but places like bars and grills work on upping the profit per guest. Larger checks instead of more checks

Hi Ashley! What’s the name and city of your restaurant? I could look it up and make more specific recommendations. Thank you for leaving a comment and supporting the channel!
I searched for "best Mexican food in San Marcos" and your restaurant isn't popping up in the first 10 results. Here are a few things that could be affecting your search rank: I noticed that your website domain and online ordering domain are different. What that means is that your restaurant domain isn't seeing the SEO benefit you would typically see from having people click around and spend money on your ordering platform. The Google algorithm sees this as people spending a little bit of time on your website then clicking away from it pretty quickly. Your ordering platform also doesn't include any images of the food you serve. People tend to eat with their eyes so their chances of ordering on your platform when they can't see all the delicious options they have is going to be far lower than if they did have those images in front of them. Your Google listing also says Jorge's is located inside of another restaurant called "Gills Fried Chicken." Is that right? If you want more insight for your restaurant, feel free to check out some of our other videos or visit our website at Owner.com and sign up for a free demo of our platform meant to help restaurants like yours with these kinds of things. Would love to chat! Thank you for leaving a comment and supporting our channel.
Good morning Adam you should take a look my restaurant because we partner with you guys and for the last four months or five we haven’t seen any results.
Hi! I’m so sorry to hear that this has been your experience with us. I’d be happy to get some eyes on your account with us. What is the name of your restaurant and city?
Hey there! Thank you for commenting. I noticed that your main landing page doesn't show me much of what you offer and I'm prompted to click other buttons in order to get info about your restaurant. I always recommend that restaurant websites put an emphasis on images of their food items as one of the first things someone will see when they click onto your website. Photos are hugely important in capturing and maintaining the attention of a website visitor and can do wonders for your conversion rate. I also recommend using keywords like "best cookies in Dubai" on your site to help you improve your search visibility.
Hey! I’d be happy to take a look. I noticed that the first thing that comes up when I click on your website is a video that shows the interior of your restaurant followed by your food items. The first few seconds that someone is on your website are critical in winning people over and encouraging them to continue scrolling. I would recommend making your menu items the focal point of your website because images of food are far more likely to capture a website visitor’s attention than a restaurant’s interior. This could help you entice people into becoming customers so they can try the delicious food items that are right in front of them. Try adding keywords to help you with search rank. Try “best tapas in Clive” and “best happy hour in Clive.” I hope this is helpful and appreciate you supporting our channel. If you want more specific insight, feel free to sign up for a free demo on our website at Owner.com.
Hey! A few things you could try are “coming soon” pages on your site, using social media to announce and promote the new brand, or sending this change out via a newsletter to any customers you’ve collected contact data for. Exposing people to this change for a while before it occurs will help you stay top of mind and plant the seeds for your new brand. You want to reinforce this change in branding to your audience often over time before the new brand launch.
For as long as I can remember, the “ mom and pop” is the really the ONLY successful model for a restaurant. Reasons: 1. There is a genuine love for good food and its owners are personally involved in the purchase and preparation of food. 2. Typically larger family size provides labor resource. 3. They have loyal regular customers who often have sense of a familial setting and enjoy a sense of belonging and community. 4. Wine is intended for enjoyment with food and they feature house wines. (No affectation or coercive snobbery) 5. Above all, highest level of operation involvement by principals. Good examples are Chinese, Greek, Italian families with their ethnic cuisines. The absentee or corporate owner model is destined for failure in predictable times. Aspiring MBA profiteers should stay clear unless they can do 1 thru 5.

Every new dish we want to create has to be approved by the health department. Is this normal? How do restaurants keep changing their menu if everyone has to be preapproved?
Hi Shannon, I'm not familiar with food law across each of the states. It may be helpful for you to join local Facebook groups for restaurant owners or other social media platforms and ask there! Others who are in your same position may have good advice to give you in this case.
Hey Paul! Though your cuisine type is specifically Jamaican, I would gear your brand towards the general Caribbean population. This is because you do live in a state and city where there is a higher concentration of Caribbean nationals compared to other cities and Caribbean countries tend to share some of the same foods in their cultures. Have you noticed any trends in who your typical customer is at your restaurant?
@@owner-com We do see a wide range of customers from different regions namely other Caribbean Islands, African Nations, America, Asians Countries , Latin Americans, India Regions, and some Europeans.
Hello! I would recommend adding keywords to your website that will help you increase your visibility in local searches that reflect your cuisine type. Try “best steakhouse in Elk Grove” and “best picanha in Elk Grove.” You also have a great average rating but not a lot of credibility supporting that rating as some of your local competitors do. I would suggest increasing your number reviews to over 1k as that range seems to be about where your other competitors are including the franchise brands. Thank you for watching and supporting our channel!
Hello! With your restaurant being a sports bar, there are classic food items that people may gravitate to when they want something to eat during the game/match. I’d suggest adding keywords to your online content. Try “best sports bar in Oregon,” “best onion rings in Fairview,” and “best wings in Oregon” I’d definitely suggest adding photos of your food items to your main landing page and menu page. Photos can go a long way in enticing your customers. People are often tempted by what’s right in front of them. Thank you for supporting us and for taking a moment to comment!
Hey there Mike. Thank you for dropping a comment! A lot of the ice cream shops that come up when I google "best ice cream in Miami" have 500+ reviews on Google. Your ice cream shop has an awesome average of 4.7 but increasing your number of reviews would be a great boost too! I would also try using the keywords "best ice cream in Miami" to help with your SEO.
Hi! Thank you for commenting. ROUX currently has a 5 star rating on Google. This is great! However, with only 30 reviews, there's opportunity to add credibility to that 5.0. People are more likely to eat at your restaurant if they see hundreds of positive reviews compared to if you only have a few. I suggest encouraging your customers to post reviews after visiting your restaurant. The limited number of photos of your menu items is a great way to improve your online presence too. I’d recommend taking high quality photos of your dishes and add it to your online menu. Nothing tempts people to order more than seeing the food they could be having!
Hey there Neil! Try using keywords like “best burritos in Walsall,” “best Mexican food on Walsall,” or “best tacos in Walsall” I would also suggest encouraging customers to leave reviews on your Google listing. You have a good star average but not too many reviews yet. Thank you for supporting! I have more content on the way and lots already posted. Feel free to check those out for more tips.
Two reasons restaurants fail: poor tasting food and food waste, the two work hand in hand. Food is expensive but stored properly can last for days or weeks until its spoiling point. Therefore, restaurants will do everything they can to make food last. Something that we at home would never consider. Would you serve a meal to visiting guests using ingredients which have been in the refrigerator for a week or worse, frozen? Though technically not spoiled, the storage period affects the taste of the food. Recipes tastes their best when cooked from fresh ingredients and served immediately on the table. Problem is, restaurants cannot do that AND make a profit. When a dish just doesn't taste like it usually should the culprit is usually Old Food. Not spoiled food - old food and if this happens enough times people will stop coming. Therefore, it all comes down to having a menu that features common, cheap ingredients AND which can last a long time in the fridge/freezer without losing its taste. This is very difficult to achieve. But restaurants who have done this, will stay in business for years and be very successful. (Denny's, Olive Garden, Outback, etc.). The chains are so busy that they go through their food stock fast making it unnecessary to store much food in the fridge/freezer. Ever had a bad meal at an Olive Garden? Get it again next time and it will most likely be better. This is why restaurants who are extremely busy are the most successful. It's not because they cook such good food - it's because the food consistently tastes the same.
Hello! From what I see online it looks like you offer Mexican cuisine, including breakfast. I would recommend adding keywords to your website that will help you appear in search results when people are searching for these offerings. Try “best breakfast in Logan” and “best Mexican food in Logan.” I also noticed that your online ordering platform is on a different domain than your website. This means that you’re not seeing all the search engine optimization benefits that you would come from having people spend money at your restaurant online. I would recommend getting an online ordering platform that can use your current domain. For example, your website domain is mayaburritoco.com so you could have mayaburritoco.com/order for your online ordering platform. Thank you for watching this video and being a supporter of our channel. We have a lot of content already posted here so feel free to check those out if you want more insight into restaurant marketing strategy. Hey there! Your Google listing has a “website” button that leads me to your Instagram page. I would definitely recommend creating a website because it’s one of the best ways to improve SEO, show off your brand, and convert people into paying customers!
Hey there! One of the best things you can do is encourage customers to leave reviews on your Google listing. You currently have three reviews so I’d recommend building the quantity up while also maintaining a rating average above a 4.0. This will give your restaurant a lot more credibility and improve your SEO. It looks like you don’t have a website. Websites are a great way to show off your restaurants food and attract customers online. I’d recommend creating one that includes high quality photos of your dishes and attaching your website to your Google listing.
Hey there! I would suggest adding keywords to increase your SEO. Emphasize popular dishes like your burgers and crab cake sandwiches in your online content. Keywords like "best burger in Portsmouth" or “best crabcakes in Portsmouth” could really draw people in who are looking for specific dishes in your area. Your restaurant also looks like a great fit for a loyalty program. Is this something you already do?
Hey Angela! I took a look at your Instagram page and noticed that you guys don't use the location feature on your photos. Try adding the Nova Scotia location tag on your photos to make yourself more searchable for people looking for restaurants in your area. If you want more help for your restaurant be sure to check out our other videos for some other tips or head to our website at Owner.com and sign up for a free demo to see how it works!
Hey Morgan! Got swamped this week and just got the chance to see your comment. Looks like Waller Lane is all about sandwiches (especially the fried chicken sandwich!) Some keywords for your restaurant would be "best fried chicken sandwich in Weatherford" or "best sandwiches in Weatherford"
Hey Leopoldo, I noticed on your website that you have an online ordering button. I scrolled through your online ordering platform and noticed there aren't any photos of your menu items. I'd suggest adding photos because people are far more likely to place an order when they can see the food they could be having right in front of them. It looks like you have photos featured on the "menus" page on your website already so this could be an easy thing to also include on your ordering platform. I'd also suggest having an online ordering platform that is attached to the same domain as your website. That small change could do wonders for your SEO. If you want more insight for your restaurant, feel free to check out our website at Owner.com and sign up for a free demo. Would love to chat about what you're currently doing for your restaurant and how we could help!
Hey John, Do you have control over your website or are you required to use your franchise site? I can give you more specific and relevant feedback with this info.

Hey there! It looks like you have your menus listed on your website, but the menus don’t include any photos of the food items. I would definitely recommend getting high quality photos of your dishes onto your menu because people are more likely to want to visit or order from your restaurant if they can see the food they would be missing out on if they don’t. I also searched for “best Mexican food in Ruidoso” and it looks like you’re popping up right at the cutoff for the top suggestions. The restaurants ranking ahead of you have 800-1000 reviews. Encourage your customers to leave reviews and mention the food items they ordered in their review. This could help you move up in search rankings and better compete with the other local Mexican restaurants. Thank you for supporting us! Check out our website at Owner.com and sign up for a free demo if you’re interested in getting more insight.
Hey Erica, I looked up your restaurant and it looks like you don't have a website for your restaurant. Add keywords to the website like "best tacos in Kearney" or "best Mexican food in Kearney." I would suggest also adding photos of your food because people are much more likely to buy from your restaurant when they can see the appetizing food you offer. Encouraging customers to leave reviews on Google would really boost your search ranking too. There are a ton of other videos on our RUclips channel that have more tips for restaurant marketing that I think could be helpful for you too. Feel free to check those out! I appreciate your support on our channel!
Hey there! Try adding some keywords like "best burgers in Brooklyn" or "best wings in Brooklyn." This helps with SEO when people go searching online for recommendations for food items that you offer. I'd also suggest encouraging customers to leave reviews on your Google listing. Brooklyn is a tough market to compete in, but kind words from real customers can go a long way in bringing new customers to the store. I appreciate you leaving a comment and supporting our channel. We have a lot of new content on the way so be sure to stay tuned for more videos like this!
Restaurants are dying culture for newer generations .Only dark kitchens with 100% online and delivery options will be able to make profit in very near future
Hey Rachel! I noticed that you don't have a website. Getting one up and running would be a great way to start improving your restaurant's online presence. Some keywords would be "best pancit in Lapu-Lapu" or "best seafood in Lapu-Lapu." Thanks for supporting and feel free to watch some of our other videos. We have a lot of great marketing content for restaurants and even more on the way!
Hello Agatha! Thank you for commenting. I noticed that you don't have a website attached to your Google listing. Having a website is a huge help for building your online presence and SEO. I'd definitely suggest getting one up and running. Make sure to include high quality photos of your menu items on your website too. Consider using keywords that reflect popular dishes as well. Highlight items such as those frequently praised in reviews, with terms like "best burgers in Łask" can enhance your search visibility.
Hey Daniel! Thank you for commenting. I did a little bit of research on your local competitors to see how your restaurant could stand out online. One of the big areas for opportunity actually lies in your reviews. You stack up pretty similarly as your local competitors when it comes to average rating and how many reviews you have. An easy way to stand out when people are presented with a list of search results is to show them that you have more credibility than the other options they have. I would suggest increasing your number of reviews to back up your high rating. People want to be sure that they are going to eat good food when they choose a restaurant and reviews are one of the biggest ways that they will determine if this is something you offer and if you offer better food than the rest. I also looked at your website and I noticed that you don’t have any keywords to help you appeal to local search results. Try using keywords such as “best smoothies in Hermosa Beach” and “best açai in Hermosa Beach.” Thanks again for watching and I hope this is helpful!
Hey there! Thank you for commenting. I looked through your website and saw that you promote delivery but encourage people to order through third party apps. I imagine the fees you pay on that can get pretty high! I’d suggest having a direct online ordering system where your customers can order straight from you at a cheaper price for both you and them. Your website is also pretty text heavy. I’d recommend putting a stronger emphasis on the food you offer through high quality photos. Nothing tempts people more than seeing the food they are missing out on right in front of them. This could be a great way to not only get people in the door but also increase your online ordering ticket sizes. Hope this helps!

Hey there. Thank you for watching our content and leaving a comment! Your restaurant has great Google ratings and your customers often mention your plantains and jollof rice. Capitalize on this by incorporating targeted keywords like "best jollof rice in Columbus" and "best plantains in Columbus" into your website to boost search visibility. Also, your online ordering platform is hosted on a separate domain which means when people spend money on that ordering platform, you aren't seeing any of the SEO boost that would come with that. Consider integrating it with your main website to optimize the SEO benefits. This approach not only streamlines the customer experience but also strengthens your online footprint, making it easier for new customers to discover you. Feel free to sign up for a free demo on the Owner.com website. We do work like this for thousands of restaurants and would love to chat about how we do that!
Hey Martin! You have a 4.8 star average on Google which is awesome, but only 30 total reviews. I would definitely suggest encouraging your customers to leave a review after their visit. People want to spend their money at a restaurant they can be sure will be a great experience for them so they are much more likely to choose a restaurant with hundreds of reviews than a restaurant with few or no reviews. It also looks like there aren't a many photos of the different items on your menu. Adding photos of menu items helps entice your customers to place an order or add items to their order that they didn't originally plan on purchasing.
Hey Hassan! I apologize for the late response. The past couple weeks have been busy! I looked up Time To Eat LLC and found one in Beaufort SC. Is this one yours?
Hey Hassan! I apologize for the delay in responding. Try keywords like "best spuds in Beaufort" and "best philly cheesesteak in Beaufort" I noticed that you don't have any reviews on your Google My Business listing and your website button takes me to your Facebook page. Adding a website with these keywords and encouraging customers to leave Google reviews would be a great move for you guys. Thanks for supporting! We have a bunch of other helpful restaurant marketing videos on our channel so feel free to check those out.
@owner-com thanks. I just got our Google back recently. It was taken off and never figured out why for years but we just got a new Google page. Literally recently
Hi Isaac. Sorry for the delay in responding to your comment. I looked up Verse One Pork Joint and saw that you specialize in roasted and fried pork delivery. Man really great and informative. But please take it down and reshoot it. First if you are a 1 man studio, get a mirror and monitor it. Drink a bottle of water before you start and drink in between shots, wipe your mouth. The spittle strings made this video extremely hard to watch! Not being mean, just honest feedback.
Hey there! I clicked onto your website and I noticed that I’m greeted by a lot of text. I typically recommend that restaurants make high quality images of their most popular food items the first thing someone sees when they arrive on your website. The reason for this is that it can do wonders for capturing a website visitor’s attention quickly and entice them with your delicious food. Be sure to use keywords on your site that reflect popular searches in your area and popular dishes. Try “best pizza in Brighouse” to help you appear higher in search results in your city. Hope this helps!

Thank you

This is amazing!!

@@owner-com It’s located in San Marcos, TX and it’s called Jorge’s Mexican Restaurant, the website is new and was just uploaded.
I searched for "best Mexican food in San Marcos" and your restaurant isn't popping up in the first 10 results. Here are a few things that could be affecting your search rank:
I noticed that your website domain and online ordering domain are different.

Aura Restaurant and Lounge in Clive, IA!
Try “best tapas in Clive” and “best happy hour in Clive.”
I hope this is helpful and appreciate you supporting our channel. If you want more specific insight, feel free to sign up for a free demo on our website at Owner.com.

Smokey Jays BBQ in Orlando,Fl
For as long as I can remember, the “ mom and pop” is the really the ONLY successful model for a restaurant. Reasons:
(No affectation or coercive snobbery)
Mom and pop shops are certainly an important pillar of the restaurant industry. Thank you for commenting!

ROUX, Redmond Oregon
Hi! Thank you for commenting.
ROUX currently has a 5 star rating on Google. This is great! However, with only 30 reviews, there's opportunity to add credibility to that 5.0. I suggest encouraging your customers to post reviews after visiting your restaurant.

Lil’Bit Restaurant in espyville pa
Hey there!
I found your Google listing but I’m not seeing a website attached to it. Do you have one?
Good tasting food and food waste control are definitely two important aspects of owning a restaurant. Good point!

Hello!
From what I see online it looks like you offer Mexican cuisine, including breakfast. I would recommend adding keywords to your website that will help you appear in search results when people are searching for these offerings. Try “best breakfast in Logan” and “best Mexican food in Logan.”
I also noticed that your online ordering platform is on a different domain than your website.

Juiced hermosa beach
Try using keywords such as “best smoothies in Hermosa Beach” and “best açai in Hermosa Beach.”
Thanks again for watching and I hope this is helpful!

I looked up Verse One Pork Joint and saw that you specialize in roasted and fried pork delivery. Some great keywords for your restaurant would be "best fried pork in Kampala" and "best roasted pork in Kampala."
Thanks for the support and check out the other videos on our channel for some other helpful tips!

Hey Rick,
Thank you for taking a second to drop a comment. I always appreciate constructive feedback. I'll keep it in mind for future videos!
I don't care where good information comes from, I learn something! Oscar the Grouch taught me at one point. He lived in a garbage can. 😮

Hey there! Thank you for commenting.
Congrats on opening up a new place!
I noticed that you don’t have a website. Websites are hugely important for SEO and building an online brand. Creating one and implementing SEO strategies would be a great first step. I have several videos on this channel that you may find helpful in doing this.
Good luck!
