I got here from memory lane and an earworm.
I got this album on cassette in 1995 when I lived at 13, Bathwick Street, Bath. There was an address of someone who once owned the cassette who lived in California.
A couple of weeks later I looked out of my window and there was someone parked up on the opposite side of the road with California licence plates.

Grant Lee Phillips has a true gift musically and lyrically. I'm usually not a fan of Acoustic Guitars, I love Heavy, buzzy sounding electric guitars. That's why my favorite Grant Lee Buffalo song is "Lone Star Song". I also love the last half of "Lady Godiva And Me". But I like the softer stuff like Mockingbird and the title track from "Mighty Joe Moon".

over 20 years...20 years I looked for this song. Heard it on MTV Alternative Nation back at the end of the 90's and it always stuck with me but I for the life of me could not remember the lyrics or the artist...then I heard it on the radio about a week ago :D there are some songs still lingering in my head from that era but I'm glad to scratch one of the list!
Oh my god it sucks you looked that long. I know the feeling because I’ve been in the same place with songs from other bands, but ya, Fuzzy is one of an entire album of criminally underrated 90s Americana greats that are nearly lost to time at this point. If you haven’t already done so just get GLB’s anthology. I’ve been a completist fan of GLB’s as long as you’ve been looking.

thx for the answers :) thinking back I always thought it was Buffalo Tom so I was relatively close I guess haha. Cause Buffalo Tom also had a couple of songs on Alternative Nation. Another lost to time clip of that show I think was Buffalo Tom where this blonde woman walks down the road slow motion in a black dress with runny mascara...i'll find it one day! :)

So fortunate to know these guys and see them play intimate clubs in LA and Silverlake. I watched them at the Troubadour standing next to Mike Mills and Peter Buck one night. They knew a good thing.

I saw Grant Lee Phillips in play a gig solo in the early 2000's....a small venue called the Corner Hotel in Melbourne. It was the most amazing gig I've seen. An unbelievable performance. It still gives me goosebumps.

i remenber when this Lp came out ,i bought it after listening to the first 3 tracks ,stars´n´stripes is one of my favorite songs and as they released new Albums i bought them all ,grant lee philips solo Lp´s i heard them but not that good, and i saw them in Madrid with REM in the Monster tour, michael stipe favorite album at the time ,he said it in several interviews

I heard this song in the Netflix show "Brand New Cherry Flavor". This 8s one of those gems you completely forget about, but once you hear it the golden moment of genuine nostalgia hits and it's bliss.
Same for me when I heard "Waterloo Sunset" for the first time in decades.

I’m in my teen years right now and I’m a musician. I see a lot of people saying his music makes them nostalgic for the time in there life that I’m in right now.
To be clear there nostalgic as am I for their youth AND more importantly how the world was back then. Nostalgia is a concept that I imagine wont last mu h monger on regards to music. I doubt anyone will look back and think "man WAP was such a beautiful song, I miss those days". As a musician it pains me everyday to see the state of music the way it is, dead, utterly and totally dead. But I still play guitar and drums and work on my songwriting everyday.
I first heard this song in 1993 when I was 12, I was hooked immediately!
This is one of my favorite songs. Val Kilmer at his best.
