I saw that show "Live" on french TV. Next day, I bought the album. And all the others to follow. One of my favorite "most underrated" band. Ever. They are absolutely talented, unique.

Underrated, certainly. Who cares? They couldn't be more special, and I wish I'd known about them years ago. You're very fortunate that you did.

One of the important things about fans talking about their favourite "underrated" bands is that nowadays people can hear them so easily. I've turned many people onto The Replacements who were considered by many to be the greatest "underrated" band ever. They ended up headlining Riot Fest (Iggy and the Stooges had to play before them) and the last time I saw them Billy Joe Armstrong was a guitarist. Keep talking them up. Sometimes people do get what is coming to them!!!!

This was always a killer track. In the 90s me and my mates listened to it constantly. Fell well outside of the Seattle and Manchester music we were digging, but it just couldn't be denied.

I regret that I never saw this band live. They were far more than the sum of their parts. I saw Grant Lee solo a few years ago. That solo show (his first appearance in Toronto for 17 years I think he said) was unbelievably special. Grant Lee's talent for humour, self-deprecating comments, and spontaneity makes him so unusual in the business. He came and stood right beside my wife to watch the opening act and came down into the audience afterwards for this promised "sweaty hugs" and handshakes. He's much more than massively talented. He's an incredibly warm and kind man. I feel so fortunate to have seen him live.

he is good, but the magic came with the band

@@NicolaPeluchetti I believe that without Grant Lee, the magic of that band would not have been. Grant Lee has the magic, which is why he attracted the other band members. That said, I agree that the original three members had something amazingly special. The band elevated Grant Lee to another level. In my dreams I get to see that original line-up. They were indeed something beyond special. The musicianship was mind blowing.

I was lucky enough to see them on their "Fuzzy" tour of the UK. I saw them at Nottingham Rock City and Leicester Uni, really felt like you were witnessing something very special, a great live band that should've made it. They had the famous Michael Stipe "kiss of death", every band he raved about didn't hit the big time.

@@robertfoster8370 I'm glad for you! You were way ahead of the curve. I came to the band late, just casually seeing an interview in Toronto and being blown away. Not by the music. They didn't play anything from the band (I might have missed the sound clips). I just couldn't believe the intellect and playfulness; I thought, "I have to check them out!". Got my hands on a cd and I was hooked long before the first song was over. To have seen the "Fuzzy" tour would have been as amazing as to have seen The Jam in 1977.

@robertmcmanus9185 I still.have the awesome long sleeve tour tee shirt, also have a great live cd from Italy of Fuzzy and a few other songs, I must dig them both out. Pretty sure that the awesome Scarce were the support band.

Thanks so much for this comment, i just discovered this band a few days ago and I've been listening to their albums on repeat all day long. But the discography isn't that big so i was getting a little sad, and i didn't even think to check out his solo works. I'm excited to get into it. I recognized a few of their songs from my childhood, likely from my dad, haven't heard them ever since i was little and bumping into them again blew my mind
