I am addicted to this tune and to Grant Lee's voice. I need a fix twice a day
Same here😊
An absolutely classic advert.
I’m sorry that when I discovered “Mighty joe moon” I loved it so much that I avoided their other stuff. Idiot. My great loss.
J'étais en Suisse et j'ai vu cette émission de France2 pendant le succès de leur premier album je ne me souviens pas si j'avais déjà acheté ou après ça
BESTTT SONG!
🫶🏼✨
Best version for me!
I can easily imagine Noel or Liam Gallagher sing this. Beatiful.
This was always a killer track. In the 90s me and my mates listened to it constantly. Fell well outside of the Seattle and Manchester music we were digging, but it just couldn't be denied.
I'm with you
CryENGINE Sony Bravia TV ad recreation
Woow this was so cool to watch... hhahaha so sad he's gone, now I didn't know that the beggining of Spain was not written by Chick Corea
fantastic live version, much better than the cd recording, starting from the slightly detuned chord at the beginning
I regret that I never saw this band live. They were far more than the sum of their parts. I saw Grant Lee solo a few years ago. That solo show (his first appearance in Toronto for 17 years I think he said) was unbelievably special. Grant Lee's talent for humour, self-deprecating comments, and spontaneity makes him so unusual in the business. He came and stood right beside my wife to watch the opening act and came down into the audience afterwards for this promised "sweaty hugs" and handshakes. He's much more than massively talented. He's an incredibly warm and kind man. I feel so fortunate to have seen him live.
he is good, but the magic came with the band
@@NicolaPeluchetti I believe that without Grant Lee, the magic of that band would not have been. Grant Lee has the magic, which is why he attracted the other band members. That said, I agree that the original three members had something amazingly special. The band elevated Grant Lee to another level. In my dreams I get to see that original line-up. They were indeed something beyond special. The musicianship was mind blowing.
I was lucky enough to see them on their "Fuzzy" tour of the UK. I saw them at Nottingham Rock City and Leicester Uni, really felt like you were witnessing something very special, a great live band that should've made it. They had the famous Michael Stipe "kiss of death", every band he raved about didn't hit the big time.
@@robertfoster8370 I'm glad for you! You were way ahead of the curve. I came to the band late, just casually seeing an interview in Toronto and being blown away. Not by the music. They didn't play anything from the band (I might have missed the sound clips). I just couldn't believe the intellect and playfulness; I thought, "I have to check them out!". Got my hands on a cd and I was hooked long before the first song was over. To have seen the "Fuzzy" tour would have been as amazing as to have seen The Jam in 1977.
@robertmcmanus9185 I still.have the awesome long sleeve tour tee shirt, also have a great live cd from Italy of Fuzzy and a few other songs, I must dig them both out. Pretty sure that the awesome Scarce were the support band.
This is fucking amazing.
La mejor presentacion !!! 👏😭
14 years- #19 here
Im a fuzzy❤
Thank you, I'd never heard this one!
Some might say this is a great tune
Love this 🤍
Thanks for sharing this gem 👍🏻
Que sonzera!
Nice sampler of how stunning that band could be live. They really draw you in.
Come on Poch you can help Chelsea . Stop singing now
Some might say That sunshine follows thunder
He admits nicking it dunt he.
song at 0:27
After 14 years, here is your latest comment. Looking back on what it was like in the aftermath...I can only imagine because I don't even live in that country. Not in that city either. Not even on that street! I can only imagine. I should be working instead though.
Noel. Are you listening?
I gave you a thumbs up for the video only. Clarity was great! That said, Sting is past retirement and needs to go gracefully, with many loving fans.
I love this song !!
Énorme
C'est tellement fort comme performance que c'est impossible d'expliquer ce qu'on peut ressentir quand on écoute cette musique et cette voix
ooh this is nice!.
Merci pour avoir diffuser ce son, un de mes groupes préféré que j'avais qu'en VHS. Un véritable plaisir!
I saw these guy’s twice in Manchester back in the 90’s , great raw performances.. superb album… Bought back great memories, thanks for sharing.
This was spectacularly awesome!
J'étais ado quand j'ai regardé grant lee Buffalo ce soir là à Taratata, je suis restée scotchée sur mon siége tellement c'était excellent, super groupe !
Exactement pareil!! Je m en souviens encore. J étais scotché

After 14 years , here's your eighteenth comment - thanks for showing us what this was actually like!
I lived on the street most of this was shot on. It was a nightmare. Lots of balls were never picked up. My plants were trampled, and the balls picked up dirt on the street, leaving dirt polka dots on all the buildings that had to be pressure washed to be cleaned off. A beautiful result, but amazing to think how all of this would be done in CGI now.
Watching this back, I was thinking - I really hoped they had the plan to clean the balls up! The neighbourhood would've been a mess! Sounds like that was exactly what happened. How many balls were left uncollected?
Sky Sports in the UK are running the same ad but replacing the rubber balls with tennis balls, obviously using CGI but nothing like as good as the original
that's what brought me here 😂@@jmckechnie6478
I found this 2 years after your comment, and I think this ad could even be done with Ai now. I wonder if it look as good though
But how did they arrange the frog in the downspout?
they didn't. some shots are just lucky
just watched/listened to this 3 times in a row. it's completely carrying me away.
this is so unbelievabely good. what a perfect live-version
After 13 years, here's your seventeenth comment - thanks for showing us what this was actually like!
People should really check out Grant Lee Phillips's later solo efforts!
His recent album, All That You Can Dream, is very good ruclips.net/video/aACoqav4RHw/видео.html
Thanks so much for this comment, i just discovered this band a few days ago and I've been listening to their albums on repeat all day long. But the discography isn't that big so i was getting a little sad, and i didn't even think to check out his solo works. I'm excited to get into it. I recognized a few of their songs from my childhood, likely from my dad, haven't heard them ever since i was little and bumping into them again blew my mind
After 13 years, here's your sixteenth comment - thanks for showing us what this was actually like!
damn I would have sworn this was CG.
Back in those times thing were actually done, now it's all artificial
Hmmmmmm I was told it was cgi - this looks like a stunt.
Énorme interprétation. Les sources de Taratata !!!
pretty scary :))
I saw that show "Live" on french TV. Next day, I bought the album. And all the others to follow. One of my favorite "most underrated" band. Ever. They are absolutely talented, unique.
Underrated, certainly. Who cares? They couldn't be more special, and I wish I'd known about them years ago. You're very fortunate that you did.
One of the important things about fans talking about their favourite "underrated" bands is that nowadays people can hear them so easily. I've turned many people onto The Replacements who were considered by many to be the greatest "underrated" band ever. They ended up headlining Riot Fest (Iggy and the Stooges had to play before them) and the last time I saw them Billy Joe Armstrong was a guitarist. Keep talking them up. Sometimes people do get what is coming to them!!!!
