Your driving technique reminds me of when I was a company driver and angry with my dispatcher. Cuesta grade on a hot day, foot all the way into the throttle, water temp climbing past 220, boost gauge at 32 psi...a recipe for disaster. Take your foot halfway out of it and drop down a gear if necessary unless you are trying to blow it up.

heres two things to know about 6.0 one is the stupid fan dose not kick on max speed until coolant temp is at 250f!! this can be changed with a tune and should be... a 7.3 fan clutch is not the correct answer. my truck never runs above 200f now. also if your fluid damper (the pully on the crank) is bad believe it or not it will make your oil temp skyrocket. address both and i can almost guarantee you will not have this issue. also if you have a egr cooler loose it... also recommend running turbo maxx in the oil. even if you only do the first two things youll be fine i promise

Who tows over 3k RPMs? You're over working the engine for the soul purpose of trying to over heat it. 2k, 2.2k RPMs is a 6.0's peak torque rating. Even with a water cooled system, a 6.0 will over heat at 3k, 3.5k rpms for a sustained amout of time. What exactly did you prove here? 6.0s just aren't as powerful over all as you'd like them to be? Slow and easy wins the race, not revving it over 3k for 20, 30 minutes. 6.0's are old and slow, and not powerful compared to todays diesels. Do this exact same video with and oem oil cooler, and watch your oil temps still skyrocket. I live in Nor Cal/Southern OR, where there's long pass after long pass at 100° in the summer. Both air and water cooled oil coolers will over heat going up a pass at 3k, 3.5k RPMs.

I regret my purchase. Only half way into the first Az summer with it installed and oddly my heads are cracked.

unless you did the the oil cooler bullet proof kit or install a new oil cooler along with a proper flush; the air cooler is a band aid, but even the best engineers can't help poor driving techniques.
