  • Every year for 18 years, on the third Wednesday in May, Hong Kong Cycling Alliance has organised the Ride of Silence in memory of people killed while riding their bikes on Hong Kong roads, and to support the many who are injured. It is one of hundreds of such solemn events, held at the same time around the world that day.
Once again, In view of recent developments in the oversight of public processions, on top of HKCAll’s longstanding concerns regarding police constraints on both event participants and the general public, the organisers will not host a ride or gathering.
Fortunately, we all still have the right to ride bicycles on the road, and cyclists who wish to remember the six people who died and nearly 2000 injured locally last year may choose to ride, alone or with friends, that evening.
You are invited to join a short sharing at 7.30pm on 15 May, on this RUclips Livestream, in which a bell will be struck once for each of those lost, followed by a minute’s shared silence in their memory.
    Thank you for your understanding.
