im actually amazed by how james managed to animate this video in the exact style of bluey. i cant even tell the difference between what was in the show and what wasnt lmao
I'm more convinced the the show is made for the parents more than the kids. I went through a miscarriage in 2019 and seeing the show imply that Chili went through it made me so emotional. It also gives me hope that I'll still get my rainbow someday like she did when she had Bluey.
The miscarriage has actually been confirmed! Due to the theory, the writer of a book about miscarriages reached out to the Bluey creator who confirmed the theory. The book is called Hard to Bear.
It's probably like every kid's show that they slip in stuff for adults because they know a lot of adults watch with their kids. I would even say they slip stuff in to pique a kid's curiosity so that they will ask their parents about it and will give the parents something to talk with their kids about.
If I recall correctly, the team first pitched the show as an adult-oriented sitcom. More family-friendly than "adult animation" tends toward these days, but decidedly for parents. The show didn't get picked up, and so they retooled it to be more about the kids, but the shows original premise lives on. I'm sorry about your miscarriage. My wife and I had two and nobody prepares you for it.
I live in the city that Bluey is made AND set in!!!! (Brisbane). And one day at work one of the animators came into my work and complimented my friends bluey apron, such a lovely person and it was so sweet. Bluey is something to be genuinely proud of and basically everyone in Brisbane loves a good bluey episode!!!
Can anyone just take a minute to appreciate the fact the team managed to mimic the bluey artstyle and animation so well? Like its not one to one obviously but its scarily close Edit: jesus christ why are you people liking a ghost's comment so much
I’ll say this with confidence as a single male 16 year old teenager, I don’t think any form of media will make me feel as emotional as when I first binged every episode of Bluey. I found out about it and just decided to give it a watch, and it really surprised me because of how mature it is. The feelings I had watching Bluey through for the first time are not replicable for me through any other show.
im a family issues having 14 yr old and i watched s2 and 3 of bluey while having an ear infection and the show gave me happiness in a time that i mentally could not be remotly happy if anything even makes me grin a little during the worst parts of my ear infection that thing would be the god sent of happiness let alone make me full on toothy grin ear to ear smile i need to rewatch bluey oh my god
I’m a 16 year old girl and my 3 year old sister got into Bluey, my whole family cherishes the show, it’s so funny and moving at the same time. My little sister is the real life version of Muffin. (If you know you know lmao)
Ok but let's fast forward 15/20 years to when the actual children that watched Bluey realize how actually amazing it was and rewatch it as adults just cause of pure curiosity and *also* end up learning...masterpiece
as someone who grew up in the place that this show is set (brisbane) it is probably not just most relatable kids show but most relatable show in general that i have ever seen
As a mom, yeah, Bluey hits the moments where I’ve felt like I have failed, but it’s important to see things that i thought was wrong, being explained and saying “You’re doing great.” And then I proceed to ugly cry.
What I like about Bluey is that the parenting is not what some people might consider stereotypical "new-age" parenting, where the kids just do whatever they want with no repercussions. Yes, there is no violence in the house, like corporal punishment, but the girls are still properly parented when they do something wrong. It's kind of amazing to see, actually. That tightrope balance of keeping your kids in line while not resorting to physical punishment, and sorting problems out thoughtfully and respectfully. The couple of times where either parent is about to lose their temper is relatable, but they never, ever cross that boundary, and the overall picture is just such a loving, caring family. What a well done show!
@@ravenblackwing7888haha how selfish I forgot cartoon Network I forgot Spongebob and loud house because Lola loud and Lincoln loud Friends and you think DC super Heroe girls tv show by girls
I think part of what people like is that it applies to so many parents as well, I once was looking for bluey shirts for my niece and found one that said “just a dad trying not to raise liberals and watch bluey” in bluey font
I think why all us grown ups love Bluey even those without kids is because Bluey is sort of a wish fulfilment fantasy show, at least for me. Her family is happy, they talk about things, her parents play with her and teach her lessons, and when she messes up, they still embrace her. The friendships are so charming, the representation is so healthy and the loving parents are so delightful. We all wish our childhoods had been even one tenth this healthy, but they weren't.
That’s unfortunately why I don’t enjoy the show. Is it good? Yeah. I think it’s an amazing show. Maybe because of my bad childhood but something in me refuses to go back to when I was a defenseless kid and yearned for where my family hugged and didn’t scream or hit me when I got upset. I know Bingo and Bluey are play fighting with Bandit but that just brought back the bad relationship between my dad and me. Something in that kid show just triggers me and I don’t get why because I really do want to watch it with my cousin but I guess my brain doesn’t want to. Sorry for the vent.
I never thought I would ever see the day that James would make a video on an Australian dog show for kids. Edit: Nathan Manthei informed me that it's actually for everyone. My bad.
as an australian, i genuinely think australia has the best childhood shows. i mean, we got playschool, bluey, the wiggles, bananas in pyjamas, h2o just add water, little lunch, and so many more.
i thought bananas in pyjamas was a british show? did they change to australia? it did dissapear mysteriously one day from my TV channels when i was younger so...
Bluey is genuinly the only show that I can watch along with my younger sibling. Ironically even though they are dogs, they are the most realistic representation of what kids actually do and say in real life. On top of that, valuable life lessons are learned. I’ll love Bluey forever lmao
As an Aussie, I am ashamed of Disney censoring any of the episodes of Bluey. Every episode is impactful and can share valuable lessons to kids. None are greater than others (though some may object). I'm glad you made a video on this to share this amazing show to more people.
As an American I too was PISSED at the censorship. But I was watching it today and something that I know was censored before was played. SO it might be step in the right direction. I love this show genuinely. I turned my kids on to it watching it alone in my room😂😂😂
As a person who grew up in a very mentally and physically abusive household bluey really hit me hard and taught me alot about emotional control. I don’t plan on ever having kids but the show gave me a perspective on how I should treat kids with patience and care, unlike I was treated and it’s really beautiful.
as another fellow broken, unfortunate soul who was beat mentally and phisically in an abusive household, i also think bluey really hit me hard and taught me alot about emotional control. 😁😁
This show is honestly so incredibly wholesome. It’s not overstimulating (cocomelon), and it teaches the audience actual messages and lessons. This is by far my favorite kids show.
you should've mentioned how Bandit literally embarrasses himself in public while playing with his kids, and even some parents go along with the game! Truly amazing
I loved playing with my son in public - his imagination was insatiable and i just wanted to be a part of it. And yes most adults not only understood, they joined in
As a 19 year old Australian, I’ve been aware of Bluey’s existence since 2019 and I absolutely adore this show and it makes me happy seeing that this show has attracted big RUclipsrs and is getting the attention it deserves. It is such a relatable and well written comfort show that attracts not only kids but teens and adults too. Bluey is also a perfect representation of Australia with no stereotypes. It accurately portrays a day in a life of an Australian family living in Brisbane and it’s amazing how many places, shown in Bluey, that exist in real life. Bluey is one of the reasons I’m proud to be an Australian and with the show’s gorgeous visuals, it really shows the beauty of Australia.
As an Australian, I am so proud that this show came from my country. We literally studied it in year 11 media and all my SAC responses were about Bluey. Also don't get me started about Flat Pack, I haven't watched it but it looks insane.
Meet him I am proud of my own daughters show so whenever I know that our country of Australia but in Queensland embrace mean but why Brisbane but not America if I was thinking about bluey right now how do you spell came into my heart I love it
I think I love how the scene where the poodle says "You're doing great" can even be comforting outside of a parenting context. My school gets out in about 6 days, and I've been incredibly scared of the future, since I'll be graduating. That scene has been the reassurance I needed that no matter what happens next, I'm going to be just fine.
It actually has already! A youtuber named Eddache spoke in a video about cartoon dads and has said he himself has tried to have a more Bandit approach to parenting his son.
I work with children as an entertainer. And I’ve noticed that as Bluey has become more popular than Peppa Pig the kids have gotten more kind. You can tell which kids grew up on which shows. It’s insane the impact that Bluey has had on society. I love it and I haven’t even seen a single episode yet.
I think people underestimate what Children are capable of, they are no different than an adult, the only difference being that they need to learn stuff. So its best to show them every part of life
I can’t stand Peppa Pig and glad my kids don’t watch it anymore. The kids in the show get away with saying whatever mean thing they want, there’s barely any lessons for the audience to gain from it and the animation is flat out terrible.
The sign was sooo deep 1 they have a wedding 2 grandad Bob came back 3 blueys coin got stuck 4 they almost move houses 5 random people get the coin unstuck 6 they deside to move to another house 7 bandit rips out the sign 8 masterpiece of music plays 9 they move back 10 they eat burgers and fries on the kiwi rug
Apparently the show uses colours that dogs can see too. This means that you can watch this with your kids and your dog, this show really is for everyone.
The episode with the French pup really stuck with me. There was a language barrier between the two kids, yet they still played together and had a great time until it was time for them to return home. Special people come in and out of our lives from time to time. With any luck you’ll meet again and hopefully they remember you.
I'm a pediatric nurse & I have to say, hearing Bluey in the background while in a patient's room is so much more soothing than any other kids cartoon. It's also very nice to see patients of all ages enjoying the show, from toddlers to preteen.
The infertility episode is mentioned several times in this video. I want to note that Chili (the mother), who is implied to have had a miscarriage, and her sister, who is hinted as being infertile, are Red Heeler dogs, a breed that are known to have fertility issues. The amount of thought that is infused in this show just blows my mind.
Yeah, my sister (who has two children and has seen every episode of Bluey, at least all the episodes on Disney+) used to be a vet tech, and she says all the dogs in the show behave remarkably like the breeds they're depicted as being. It's just so well-thought-out.
I'm pretty convinced the reason this video was made was so James could animate himself as his fursona for most of the episode and it would blend in to the theme lol
Bluey is the exact way I want to have my future family. I'm 20 and there are so many things I've picked up on while actually sitting down and watching this show. It seemed weird at first, but a lot of the episodes are targeted to quite literally everyone of all ages. Like he said in the video, everything about bluey is done so well that it has a grasp on millions of people.
As an Aussie, I adore Bluey. It reminds me of my childhood, the unique Australian childhood, waiting for the bin man, fighting the bin chickens, exploring the unique Aussie wildlife etc. Nearly every episode unlocks a forgotten memory, it just makes me feel like I’m home.
I am 40 years old and a lot of Bluey episodes have reduced me to tears. My 7 & 8 year olds loved watching it for the giggles. I watched it because I could relate to it.
There was a point in time where my little sister watched Bluey every day for two months, and the whole rest of the family was pretending-not-pretending they weren't also binging it right behind her. Such a good show. I love it.
I see it on the TV, end up mindlessly watching it, and have to remind myself to not watch it because my sister wouldn't ever let me hear the end of it... :/
I'm a teenager so when i saw my siblings watching this I liked watching it and after a while I'm like, "Am I to old for this?". After a while I saw other people drawing attention to it and I can see how parents are liking the show to which I was happy about since the show is amazing just watching it felt like I was going through my childhood again.
I watch bluey almost every day bcuz it makes me comfortable, happy and makes me feel like I want to be kind. I'm a 14 year old and I've been watching bluey since I was 8 and i still I watch it every day. ❤️
Honestly Bluey is a breath of fresh air in kids shows, because it’s genuinely enjoyable to watch even as an adult, and has valuable lessons to teach to all ages, also it’s just painfully wholesome
@@sylvy16 I agree but I do think that Bluey has gotten into some deeper lessons just given what the story is about allows them to explore those things. Like miscarriage.
SO proud of this team and what we've accomplished with this video! Was an honor working with y'all and having a chance to draw some Bluey-replica backgrounds
There are even videos on tik Tok of parents recording their kids reactions, crying at the emotional episodes, which means that we don’t give kids nearly enough credit with what they understand and the creators of Bluey do a great job at revealing that fact!
I'm a 34 yo father of 2 boys. We ALL love Bluey! Glad to see it get the recognition it deserves. It's a fantastic show and I'd be lying of I said I hadn't teared up a few times watching it.
bluey is truly one of the best children’s shows i’ve ever seen. the art style, the music, the realistic life lessons- there is so much to love about this show, and to have one of the best animated youtubers reviewing it is incredible 😭
@@SinisterBlitzo9 i think it's quite pointless to compare to the Lego movie when this series is basically Peppa pig but it's more high quality, actually realistic and basically replaced with dogs as the main characters
The fact I like this cartoon is that it treats real themes that kids can understand while parents can learn, treats themes so deep like miscarriage, death, so many more that kids can take and actually use in real life, it’s a show with amazing visuals and songs, so much it doesn’t gives you preschool infos, it’s teaching you about life, it gives you space to cry and it accepts it. Truly a well done job.
One of the things I love most of all about Bluey is simply that they talk like actual Australians instead of an American sitting in a booth doing an exaggerated accent, or an Australian being encouraged by a director to emphasise stereotypes. It shouldn't be as big of a deal as it is, but when I was growing up I felt so alienised by American/Canadian films and shows, to the point where I started trying to unlearn my accent because I felt so self-conscious about it. I love this show so much its silly.
Now you're making me wonder if Paul Hogan actually talked like that or if he turned the Oz up to 11 for Crocodile Dundee... I mean, I'm pretty sure Steve Irwin was just being himself at least, right?
I also love how they've resisted/ignored any pressure to cater to Americans, who get catered to enough as it is. It's a refreshing contrast to the days when 4Kids thought American kids needed to be told that a rice ball was a jelly doughnut, or else their little seppo minds would explode like Scanners from the trauma of being exposed to another culture.
Same as Americans doing British accents always that weird posh mary poppins style or when dick van dyke did that cockney accent. Julie Andrews was British but dick wasn't
THIS is the kind of content that will turn a new generation into emotionally healthy, lovely people. Not Cocomelon, not Caillou, THIS. I teared up a lot even though I had a good childhood
The fact that bluey was able to teach kids and adults the duality of evolution and religion without facebook moms being greatly outraged is the most suprising thing to me
@@tristantries9211 In the episode James dove deep into towards the end. It showed the idea of a creator (the parents) alongside life developing and advancing on earth (the girls' increasingly sophisticated play).
Bluey did it so perfectly to avoid any outrage. Evolution moms can just point to that aspect and use the cave paintings to talk about greek mythology or what have you. Religious moms can talk about the Bible saying God created all these others things and then ending with creating Man and so on. Give both views the ability to interpret the episode in their favor and there's nothing to complain about lol
Seems to me like adding complications to evolution for the sake of religion, but whatever. It's like explaining Alaxander The Great's military success by his masterful strategy, technology, and that he was the Son of Zuse. I mean, if anyone is going to claim divinity, it might as well be the guy that conquered most of the world before he was 30. But more tresstral reasons can do all the work. So I'm not sure what Zeus adds.
I’m a new parent. My daughter is 18 months old. I hope I can bring as much joy in her life as Chili and Bandit bring to Bluey and Bingo. This show has inspired me to be a more loving, playful, and patient parent. Bluey is a gem and we can all learn from it.
I wanna talk about one thing that was censored by Disney in Bluey. The army episode James mentioned is also about the kid with the army dad's friend, Jack. Jack is pretty clearly ADHD: he can't sit still, has trouble following directions and remembering names and numbers. When he goes to Bluey's school and plays army, his friend asks why he moved, asking if there was something wrong with his old school. Jack replies, "No, there's something wrong with ME." Which is a very deep thing that so many kids with ADHD can relate to, feeling like there's something wrong with them because their brains don't work like everyone else's. But in the Disney Plus version, Jack instead says "No, there's something GOING ON with me." Which totally takes all the punch out of the line.
@@Cahrssomething A Tumblr blog that used to post all the original versions of episodes but since got taken down (I only got to episode 8 of season 3 and boy do I want to watch the rest but I want them to be the originals and I don't know where else I can get that).
Man, seeing the parents apologize to the kids makes me reflect on my childhood and how I always had to say sorry to my parents, but whenever they did something that hurt me they would never apologize, or they would undercut it with "but you need to be better". At least I know what really good parents are now. My parent's aren't bad or anything, but watching Bluey makes me yearn for a childhood I've never had.
unlike how they removed the only Australian character in Monster High and turned her into an L Bluey seems okay, havent watched it though because of the fans
As an Australian, I did some contracted editing on some early VO for Bluey and never in a million years did I expect that random show I did a 2 hour job removing all the times the kids got distracted would just keep showing up everywhere I looked.
Honestly, I've felt bad for kids today who had to grow up with such a horrible shit animated series like Peppa Pig, but since I started to watch Bluey right now(on episode 3 at the moment), I feel like today's kids got redemption within nostalgia and memory lane. So, thank you, Bob, for showing me this glory and feel happy and satisfied for the kids. My mind is now at peace~ 😌
I think we finally reached James’ full furry mode 😂 Seriously though, Bluey is a gem of a show, and I really hope it can help kids AND parents for generations
Nah, there's no way! This is 100% a lie! Because for the show to also somehow attracts not just children, not just adults, but also teenagers and adolescents, he would also have to go through some more years of general human psychology.
I love Bluey because it sets the example for gentle parenting/new-age parenting. Teaching adults that while some things or events don't seem like a big deal to us as adults or older kids, it means a lot to the younger ones because it's literally their first time experiencing these things so it almost means everything to them at that moment.

I’ll say this with confidence as a single male 16 year old teenager, I don’t think any form of media will make me feel as emotional as when I first binged every episode of Bluey. I found out about it and just decided to give it a watch, and it really surprised me because of how mature it is. The feelings I had watching Bluey through for the first time are not replicable for me through any other show.
im a family issues having 14 yr old and i watched s2 and 3 of bluey while having an ear infection and the show gave me happiness in a time that i mentally could not be remotly happy if anything even makes me grin a little during the worst parts of my ear infection that thing would be the god sent of happiness let alone make me full on toothy grin ear to ear smile i need to rewatch bluey oh my god

as someone who grew up in the place that this show is set (brisbane) it is probably not just most relatable kids show but most relatable show in general that i have ever seen
I noticed that too. I’ve been trying to figure out how to put it into words, so thank you

BAHHAHAHAHAHAH NAH bro that’s spot on caillou getting the shit beat out of him and referenceing to “Adult Swim” is crazyyyyy that’s nice

Well how do you get it uncensored?

As an Aussie (Australian), I feel proud that my country made this masterpiece
Ya should be
Australians finally have something to be vicariously proud of
unlike how they removed the only Australian character in Monster High and turned her into an L
Bluey seems okay, havent watched it though because of the fans
Truly an underrated part of this world
You should be lol I love this show!!! Just sad Disney had to sensor some episodes and that some we have to wait a year more to get them
As an Australian, I did some contracted editing on some early VO for Bluey and never in a million years did I expect that random show I did a 2 hour job removing all the times the kids got distracted would just keep showing up everywhere I looked.
That’s so cool!! And adorable. I never thought about that, there must be so many silly takes of the kids getting distracted and just being kids lol
I think we finally reached James’ full furry mode 😂
Seriously though, Bluey is a gem of a show, and I really hope it can help kids AND parents for generations
It’s been confirmed
How many minutes ago?!
Maybe 21min ago?
i mean he was at FWA with fursuit iirc so that bridge was crossed

THAT'S DEDICATION AND I LOVE IT!
Nah, there's no way! This is 100% a lie!
Because for the show to also somehow attracts not just children, not just adults, but also teenagers and adolescents, he would also have to go through some more years of general human psychology.
that’s ridiculous
That's why you don't skip school
@@giahuynguyenkim6389 I think he did that too
I love Bluey because it sets the example for gentle parenting/new-age parenting. Teaching adults that while some things or events don't seem like a big deal to us as adults or older kids, it means a lot to the younger ones because it's literally their first time experiencing these things so it almost means everything to them at that moment.
I AGREE!!
And at least bluey is way better preschool show than caillou
@Papohawkiscool11No.2 that show isn't compatible to Bluey
@@animedragons9998 oh
@@animedragons9998 I know but the family in bluey is way more fun than the family in caillou they are boring
Thank you James, you made me a Bluey obsessed fan. 🤣
PS I saw the baby race episode and I cried too 😭
