I totally agree - Max sounds much warmer and wider but it's very heavy and unusable for any activity, Pro 2 mids are almost too sharp for me but they balance the worse sound with portability. ANC in both are on par but in Pro 2 I can hear tiny white noise, while in Max I heard nothing. I hope they make the next version of Max from lighter materials, then it will be perfect.

I like the sound simulation for both. I can feel the AirPod pro 2 is more energetic and pro max is more for pleasure n details. Which is make sense. One is for on the go and another is for indoor and overall entertainment.
I have both, but don’t use my AirPod max pro anymore. I go the gym and the pros last 4-5 hours on one charge. The noise cancellation is great there. I’m a consultant and so I use the pros also for meetings and the mic is better than max. I travel all around the uk on train and the AirPods Pro were perfect. They’ve replaced the maxes for me just because of form factor. Both are excellent but I’m not as fatigued using the pros.

I felt like the bass was a bit more tame in the pro 1. But i messed with the eq a bit and really got i to sound great and like the soundstage/detail a bit more over the pro 1. I lost my last pair and decided to get some again after a price drop today. I really like the max but not for $550. I got it refurbished for like $350-370 and found that more worth it.
Very informative video, I can actually get the perception of how the Airpods Pro 2 sounded like. The Airpods Max still win over sound quality in terms of resolution and soundstage but the Airpods Pro 2nd Gen is better than the 1st Gen in terms of fullness and lows

The weight and comfort: the APP2 much more lighter as well as comfortable for me while using it (the APM headband drives me crazy by the itchy to my head). 2: The sound: the APP2 definetely got me even the noice cancellation or the richer bass as well as the spatial sound. Hands down to the APP2 and I even bought two pairs to use with different purposes: at home and outdoor. ✌👌👏

Well obviously the right choice is AirPods Max over-ear headphones obviously have wider sound stage and will give you the maximum immersive soundstage, i do own AirPods Pro 2 since November 2022 and i absolutely love them it’s ridiculous how such small piece of tech is able to produce such sound.
I have the new AirPods Pro and they made my trip to Japan a much better experience on the busy streets of Tokyo and a 13-hour flight. I bought the AirPods Max and returned them after 2 days. I loved the sound quality and the over the ear experience. But, they’re humongous and I couldn’t carry them as easily as my AirPods Pro, 2 in my tiny pocket.
Also something to mention is that the AirPods Pro 2 are new products so apple might lower the quality of their other products to get you to buy the new products

I can’t hear any white noise on my pro 2s and the anc is leagues better for me than the max

If you don’t mind switching away from apple products and if you’re not using iphones, go for Sony’s xm5. Cheaper, lighter and better sound quality.
