    The new Mazdas look great and deliver impressive power & Torque. I would opt for a Premium Plus Turbo S. I ask that those interested in the PHEV, consult the Mazda Car Forums for owners' comments. It seems the new model has been plagued with various problems. IMHO, I don't want Battery Anxiety - a new term being brandied about concerfning EVs. I am really liking this exterior blue color with the mixed Tan interior... very sharp. InfoT. system is lacking for sure. But, the competition is limited to attaining these HP/ Torque & MPG numbers. I have a 22 MDX Advance lease coming due in August. In order to get the power numbers of the CX-90 or CX-70, I would need to opt for a Type S model @ $13-14K More. But the Acura gets less MPGs in non Type S models and much less in the Type S models.

    )is the gross absence of exhaust pipes. The CX 30, CX 5, and CX 50 all have tasteful, attractive, and aurally pleasing twin exhaust pipes. At no undue expense, Mazda developed a well-deserved reputation for building sports cars (e.g. MX 5 Miata, rotary RX 7) and sports sedans (e.g. rotary RX 3 and RX 4). Why, at this point, Mazda decided to compromise its two impressive straight 6 turbo SUVs is beyond many enthusiasts; especially when they are both intended to be BMW competitors.

    Very nice vehicle with a premium look but the ancient infotainment system with 'part time' touch screen is a dealer breaker. And what's with the overly ambitious screen size spec of 12.3 inches? Looks about the size of two horizontal iPhones side-by-side. I have a "smaller" diagonal measured screen in my car but it actually has much more useful screen real estate than others. I guess there's no useful standard of measurement used by manufacturers. Perhaps reviewers and manufacturers (gasp!) should include square inches or square centimeters for the sake of transparency. Whatever. Nice review though. Thanks!

    Another flop from mazda for the US market..cx90 with a 3rd row delete,,they are gonna lose customers it they don't bring smaller hybrids..with more tech features like the competition.

    Not a fan. I get that Mazda is small and they cannot afford to design lots of different types of categories within a model like Honda and Toyota do, but they're missing a lot of customers by not at least trying to field a more rugged "trail" type model. I mean, seriously, even Nissan realized that they had to butch up the feminine looking Pathfinder by creating the Rock Creek Edition. Mazda has gone all in by making all of their SUV's pretty much the same. But making the CX-70 and 90 the same price doesn't make much sense for 70 buyers. You're actually paying a premium NOT to have the 3rd row and extra space.

    Those power figures are very disappointing for the inline 6

    • @ejesoriginal
      @ejesoriginal 26 дней назад +2

      Inline engines have never been about power. Their main advantage is balance, refinement, smoothness and typically easier to work on when compared to a V6. By design, it will probably be more robust and last longer as a turbo charged engine than your typical V6 as well. This engine makes perfect sense in a more luxury oriented driver and I think Mazda did a good job at compromising to get refinement with decent HP and torque out of this type of engine in this size of vehicle. One thing I'm curious about is how hard the rear two spark plugs are going to be to replace. Typically inlines are easier to work on, but this is not transversely mounted.

      Much like the CX90 it is not very space efficient with that long hood and sloped rear. It's about a foot longer than the Passport while offering less interior space.

    • @ZealofSparta
      @ZealofSparta 26 дней назад +1

      @@plmn93 That all comes down to the rear wheel drive architecture and space to fit an inline 6 cylinder engine for the sake of driving dynamics. Naturally it is less space efficient for but if you enjoy the drive it does help with weight balance and power-on steering into corners much like what BMW is known for.
      I applaud Mazda developing a fun option in the utility space but it will not be the most practical for some. Hopefully in the future they will maximize the space inside the platform but, this is a brand new platform and they have a limited engineering budget so it will be some time before that can happen.
