one of the greatest movies of all time. I remember randomly seeing this one afternoon while flipping through channel and decided to stay and watch. It is now one of my top 3 favorite move
Definitely my comfort movie, watched it today for like 20 time after 3 years and still touched me so much, cause I relate to Duncans character as that "weird, lonely kid" who just cant find his happy place. I always felt like that, still feel as 21 yrs old but this movie always gives me hope and even Im always sad watching it Im also really happy and full of positive Energy. One of the most underrated movies ever. Thank you for that upload my friend.
this movie is important to me and im not sure how to explain why it's top 10...i relate to Duncan in the sense that i was badgered a lot growing up by men exactly like AND worse than Trent, these authoritarian mean, condescending bullies who stunt my growth...and i wish I had an Owen growing up. Now, i wish and try to be an Owen to anyone else who feels like Duncan.
It's a movie so endearing that it's going to make you feel and that's sometimes not the best thing. But if you're in a good place then it's the greatest. It's excellent all around the cast the story the way they filmed at the soundtrack just excellent all around
I love this movie. It helped me when I was a teen, and I want my cousin to watch it now since he's going through some awfully rough times in high school. Thank you for making this edit
Okay this is great. I’m glad someone appreciates this deeply underrated movie. This video is not perfect, however, because it misses the hug between Owen and Duncan; which is one of the greatest moments in movie history.
My ex stepdad was abusive to me and made me feel insecure and inferior all the time like I wasn’t good enough, and Steve carrell usually plays the goofy type but he nailed down the douchebag stepdad really well, I saw my ex stepdad in him. And watching Sam Rockwell’s character just comes in and washes that away like letting the air in after being suffocated
The part at 4:20 when he physically steps in between an adult bully and the kid, changes history. It is the defining moment of the movie. After that, Owen is no longer a kid and the kid is no longer haunted by being a 3, because he is not anymore. It also changes the mother, it changes her relationship with her boyfriend, her son. It is also one of the most "good cry" moments a middle aged man can have - seeing that someone out there is protecting those who need it the most.
I met Sam Rockwell at Chateau Marmont and I wish it had happened after I saw this movie. He’s just so effortlessly cool, so approachable, and their friendship in this film is one of my all time favourites ❤️
i remember watching this movie when it randomly aired on my TV. it evoked a strong sense of summer nostalgia in me. aside from relating to duncan, finding this movie again and revisiting it kind of made me shed a tear.
When youre that age, the adults you make friends with are huge in your development as a young man. Owen saved this kid and gave him self confidence
Some build you up and some break you down. It is so important to connect with those who can make you better. This movie highlights so much of both.
What an underrated film. I cry at the end EVERY TIME. I wish more people could appreciate this movie.
One of the most underrated movies of 2010s. Absolute classic

This was one hell of a movie... so underrated. Sam Rockwell is usually a win for me but he and Liam James knocked it a mile out of the park...
Very good movie!!!
Underrated, underappreciated, flew under the radar.

This is good movie, reminds me of the John Hughes movies that I grew up watching.
When he steps in front of Duncan to protect him from Carrell….
THATS the WHOLE accumulation of this (heart warming) story RIGHT there!!
🤘🥲🤘

I hope your cousin is doing good and so happy he has you !! That's just so precious and kind !
us way way back editors need to stick together fr. the thumbnail is so fucking amazing omg
Nice montage. Sam Rockwell's most lovable character, Owen. Ultimately life affirming for Duncan to find himself at the water park. I love this movie!

Absolute horrible trailer. This made me forget the movie until it hit on HBO
