  • The Luminary proposes to Jade at Briscoletti's wedding rehearsal
When Jade asks "could you even imagine", I thought it would be neat to add in some screenshots from my playthrough of the game.
Note: All of my screenshots that I shared within this video are from Act 1 & 2. The last two screenshots, I captured from another video that was uploaded to RUclips. I hope to finish Act 3 sometime in the months ahead. I really like / adore the romance story between Jade and the main character. It just melts my heart. The two character have great chemistry. And personally, it also makes a lot of sense as well. Gemma and Serena are good matches as well. However, so far / as of Act 2, their romances have felt short / underwhelming / underdeveloped.

    [Background:]
Jade lost her mom at a young age. When she first meets the Luminary, she is 5 years old. The Luminary's mother who is Queen took Jade in as a mentor and showed her love and kindness. Although Jade's father is still alive and is the King of Heliodor, Jade would frequently stay with the Luminary's mother / queen because she needed her as a motherly figure. When the Luminary is born, Jade love him as well with all her heart.
When Mordegon finds out that the Luminary had been reborn, he sends monsters to destroy the Luminary's kingdom. The Luminary's mother flees with her baby in a basket & with Jade in tow. As for the Luminary's father (the king), he stays behind within the secret escape tunnels and sacrifices his life to save them.
Meanwhile, Jade, the Luminary baby, and the mother flee through the forest. There's lots of rain and thunder. A group of three headless horsemen quickly pick up their trail. To lead them away and protect the children, the Luminary's mom asks Jade to hide with the baby along the river bank in the reeds / tall grass. The mother then runs away. The horsemen give chase and ride right by the children who were safely hidden away. Thinking it is finally safe to exit (and perhaps in an effort to meet the mother in a new location further down the path), Jade runs out of the cover with the basket in her hand. However, one of the headless horseman is soon on her trail and quickly chases Jade down. Jade is attacked. In the process, the baby and the basket fall out of her arms and starts rapidly floating down the swelling river. Jade attempts to stop the basket. She swims after it, but she fails. Soon after, Rab (the former king and the Luminary's grandfather) saves Jade.
Jade can't return to her father. He has been corrupted / possessed by Mordegon and won't listen to reason. Rab trains Jade as a martial artist / highly skilled fighter / warrior. He raises her as if she is his own granddaughter. Jade loves the Luminary and continually searches for him throughout her life.
Years later, she finally finds him again. At the beginning of the renewed relationship, she still sees the Luminary as family and as a brotherly figure. However, as the story evolves, the two quickly become close. Jade never again wishes to leave the Luminary's side. She loves him very much. If the Luminary later propose to Jade towards the end of the game, she will accept.
In conclusion / dialogue wise and the way the story is told, it seems as if Jade is the one the Luminary was meant to marry. The age difference of 5 years between Jade and the Luminary is not significant / not much at all. Honestly, visually it looks even less. In fact, if I had not looked it up via Internet search, I would have thought that the age difference was only about 3 to 4 years at most. Although, one could technically make an argument for Serena as the reincarnation of a long lost love of the Luminary or even Gemma as the Luminary's best friend through childhood, the romance just isn't there for either of these two characters or at least not within Act 1 and 2. All that said, princes usually (but not always) marry princesses. Most likely, the Luminary would have married Jade anyways if his kingdom had not been destroyed. Jade would easily fit into the role of daughter in law and granddaughter in law. She loves the Luminary's mother. She loves the Luminary's father. She loves the Luminary's grandfather. She loves the Luminary. They are her family.

@@carlosescobar2543 "Figure" though? Wasn't there a flashback where they're at the castle before it gets all ruined? I thought she was there because she's his cousin. Maybe I mis-remembered!
