In this video I finally use table legs I made from a tree on the property 8 years ago!! to build a table for my farm house dinning room. The top is made from lumber purchased at the local saw milll watch and enjoy !

Great book for a beginner . ruclips.net/user/postUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ this book really starts from the beginning, as in it explains what basic tools are and how to use them. But when it gets to the art of creating joints and how and when to use them this book really starts to teach you something. At least that was my experience.
I'll tell you what, there are not many things better than sitting down with a cup of coffee on a Saturday morning and watching Jimmy Diresta build something.

When I saw those table legs I remembered seeing them from the early early days of this channel :)
At the end of the first voice over segment he said “ok, back to the shop noises.” That put a big smile on my face. I love the sound of Jimmy’s videos.

This table brings back so many memories of my grandparents' "big table" as they called it. They had ten children, so you can imagine how many of us grands there were. We had a long bench on one side. Great memories. Your family and friends will enjoy this!!

A good way to get timber to cup is to only varnish one side
I thought this. Looked at a job recently and they’d fit a massive oak bar top and only finished one side. It subsequently cupped upwards. I dread to think what I cost.

I’ve found that turning spindles to match is not easy. Having a big area to build is probably something you’re always thankful for since leaving the NYC shop. I too like the machine noise.
Most amazing skill was that glue bottle refill, without it spilling all over.

Was assembling something,had the screw in all the way, and
the tip of the bit, in the screw, and it held up the driver and
everything, going horizontally into some boards. (18 volt
full size driver. Screw and bit held the whole thing up.)

Man!!! I wish I could do just one build with Jimmy. The stuff I could learn in a short time. Those clips under the table were stellar. I built our dining room table right when I started doing some woodworking and made almost every mistake possible. It’s still standing though 😂👍🇺🇸
Another great video, thank you. Say, it seems like you have guests coming over, a couple of commenters noted the underside not finished and you one-coated the trestle. The design allows for you to easily return to finishing, which could easily take another week. It looks great, and functional, per usual.
