yeah it really annoys me when other reactor see strong people, they thought it because devil fruit. Mihawk, shanks even the pirate king dont eat the devil fruit and still strong as hell.

In the show it seems he is. But maybe you're right and he just has better reaction time than in the manga/anime. They made him capable of making his feet float which he can't do in the original story.

Neither of them said anything about powers being taken away or suppressed. Sea water just drains the stamina of people with devil fruit powers. In the anime, there was a part where Luffy was trapped underwater(because his feet were stuck in some concrete and he was thrown in the water) but other people kept him alive by stretching his neck so his head was above the water(it was in a relatively shallow area). So his powers still work in sea water, he just loses his strength because it drains his stamina.

One of the cool things about OP is that there are multiple power systems, and devil fruit is only one among many. This is less ambiguous in the manga and anime because you see people use powers who can also swim; for example, in those, Shanks is fully submerged in the water when he scares off the sea monster. I feel like this is a minor weakness of the live action adaptation having to skip over some exposition, because enough people have made this mistake that it has to be attributed to the narrative just not making it clear enough. But as a decades-long fan, I love the theorizing from folks who are totally new to the series! 😊

The live action version is ambiguous about Shanks power on purpose. All we know so far is that devil fruits exist and eating one prevents you from swimming. Not seeing Shanks in the water purposely leaves it open to speculation. I can only assume most assume he has some sort of beast controlling devil power after what we see in the live action.

This show is pretty good, though it doesn't do a great job about explaining certain aspects of the world. Yes, all Devil Fruit eaters lose the ability to swim in the water, it's like they'll just sink to the bottom in any body of water. (Lakes, Rivers, Oceans, big tubs, etc) Also, "Fruit Ninja" was really good.

I really enjoyed the way they adapted both the story and the characters. Buggy is much more menacing and serious in this show with a hint of sillyness but buggy in the anime was more comical and comic relief at the start. This has arguably been one of my favorite adaptations. And I have been waiting on your reaction! You both really brighten my day with your humor and insight.
The side characters are just so damn good haha and there's plenty to come. The actor playing Luffy is outstanding though, he's the glue that holds everything together. So refreshing to watch a show that doesn't take itself seriously at all and just goes for it.

Regarding the scope of the One Piece story: the live action adaptation covers approx. 60 episodes from the anime. At the point of writing, there are 1072 episodes out and the ending is still not in sight. So if they end up making more LA seasons, they have more than enough material^^

Technically in the current place of the Manga Luffy already fulfilled his promise to shanks that he will be a great pirate which was the only prerequisite to their promise. So yes Luffy will meet shanks again though it may not be until Season 8 of the Live action which is dependent on how well the series performs until then. Season 1 did well but if any other season bombs in reviews then One Piece Live action may die.
The sea beast He ripped Shanks' arm off in the attack on the boat, and Shanks didn't eat a devil fruit, nor did everyone with a special ability eat one.

So yes Luffy will meet shanks again though it may not be until Season 8 of the Live action which is dependent on how well the series performs until then. Season 1 did well but if any other season bombs in reviews then One Piece Live action may die.

Buggy presenting "serve the man who will become the king of the pirates" as something very desirable is pretty damn heartbreaking considering what we now know about him very recently in the manga about his relationship with Shanks

I put a spoiler warning specifically so people that aren't caught up wouldn't stumble on it unless they clicked on it and made the comment as vague as possible so only people that are caught up will know what I'm talking about and people that aren't at best will get tge gist that there's more to his past with Shanks than what Buggy is talking about here, which is already what everyone that watch this scene already thinks
