Been going a flag maximalist build myself. Many advantages to having a very powerful flog by the mid game. Wave clear and farm super fast, tons of sustain, free poke with no risk of overextension. Plus since you're building tons of spirit your divekick still hits very hard. The idea in my mind is to safely control the map and poke and then finish with ult and divekick when opportunity arises.
Interesting build, I had recently started drifting from your previous build in favor of more spirit heavy options (especially when mega fed) but this seems like more of a stable build for those games where you’re just even and need to stay alive and make plays happen.
Guns scale a lot harder, lash is nice because he hybrids well, imo maxing 1 first is still best because 3 is mostly a heal with a little burst mixed in, while 1 is just MASSIVE amounts of damage and secures kills much easier, but none of his kit can easily one shot otk someone (not to say you cant otk someone, but that more depends on how they itemize against you), so I like to stack a ton of weapon upgrades early and burst in the mid game then just focus on the utility items from there
@@Doost311 I’ve actually taken to trying out the Chasm majestic leap build as well, and I think I prefer that one at the moment, especially since I’m playing it fairly low tier lobbies. A more gun centric build may scale better, but if everyone on the enemy team is overextended 90% of the time then it’s not too hard to get enough spirit to one shot everyone
@@chriswalker7408 ya but if you look at chazm's latest videos he still goes majestic leap but he hybridizes his items to only target the high impact spirit items like improved burst, the burst damage output from headhunter and mystic shot out competes most of the burst you get from spirit items is the point i'm trying to make. The exception of course being when you get a max height 1 drop on someone, but at that point they are probably done for either way, and if you go guns you will have more gas after you land Chazm lately is picking up gun items that give some spirit, rather than spirit items that give some gun damage. Things like Pristine Emblem, Mystic Shot, Slowing Bullets, and HeadHunter all provide great value for burst damage or engage. While on the spirit side the main things you want are extra charge and mystic burst early, and later on you want improved burst, cooldown reduction, and ethereal, the only real damage property of those items is improved burst, everything else is quality of life and utility. From there I generally see him building tank items because there isnt' any other big powerspike items he can just pickup, maybe reverb if you are constantly getting 1 value but I usually seem him go for tankiness
@@Doost311 true, I have seen him go some more spirit gun items lately, but I think I had yet to connect the dots on why he chose the specific ones he did. Generally I think I just really like getting a load of spirit items and trying to 1 shot someone who’s 10k souls down, but I bet if I bought a few more guns items instead it would make for a more consistent power curve while being less reliant on giant leads to be effective.
I agree with you. I play at a lower level than Deathy for sure but I also go for a more spirit focused bursty build that’s less about staying in fights and more about trying to blow people up as fast as possible with ability rotations. I think at a higher level I’d get punished more and need to play more brawly like this build.
Gave this build a try the past couple days and I really like it! I don't know if it's kosher, but I have been picking up Majestic Leap around the time I'm getting Armors depending on how the game is going. It may be just because I'm not in high-level games but I feel like it pays for itself in the ability to just jump from one lane to the next to catch all the waves that my teammates are missing, and it has been clutch a few times in setting up massive Lash Ults.
Actually just used this build last night after finding it that afternoon, first game turned into the best game I've played so far in deadlock. Great build, great explanation videos
A decent Lash is so difficult to shut down mid-game that it almost feels over if he gets a lead. Thank you for this guide cause he looks like a lot of fun but sorta tricky to play.
you mention your networth is 4k at 4:55 so youre not afraid of pocket because youre strong + you have numbers but half your networth is in your inventory waiting to be used, pocket is coming from base and will likely have the full networth i feel like this is an important concept to touch on here
To counter paradox you can also buy debuff reducer, because most paradox players place the wall before swapping you will have enough time to roll away in most situations. The benefit of it is ofc that reducer is a green slot and costs 1250 souls compared to shift or warp stone
Honestly my biggest difficulty lash is just hitting my ult. Whenever I use it it feels so short range and people who I think are in view just aren't. Any tips or hints for it?
something important to note about his ult is that its a cylinder, not a sphere. this means you're able to be "closer" to the enemies when you pop ult by being far above them, so then its just about timing when you're directly above as many of them as possible, granted it really isn't ever very easy, so play around the roofs and various things around the map to position yourself as best as possible.
One thing that has helped me is stop trying to make "The play" and started just ultying a single enemy and if i catch more then good. Also just jump on top of them and aim down, the area is like a cylinder like the other comment said
The ult has an infinite range vertically being above and enemy or team makes the ult infinitely easier to hit. I have a video on my channel showing some good lash ult if you wanna see it in action
I feel like this video was made for me. I just picked up Lash, thought he was too inconsistent going ult build that I was build Majestic Leap & Refresher. I'm definitely going to try this tonight.
that's obviously a very consistent and much healthier way to play the character, esp for teamfights and utility... groundstrike go 2k damage at once brr tho
19:44 McGinnis has so much impact this patch that I literally Pick my build depending on WHO has the McGinnis. Full Burst/HealingCut when the enemy has it, full Melee/Tank when WE have her. Its stupid how brainless you can play and just win the endurance fight when you have a McGinnis in the team.
I build magestic leap and boundless spirit when I'm turbofed and want to have fun and make people uninstall. Any advice on turbo fed stomping items is appreciated. Great tip with the warp stone vs Paradox. I was already not building cold-front, wasn't feeling it as good as buying another item. Will start implementing slowing hex, does it bring down talon and vindicta? I don't like quick silver reload, but will try it out. I really like Rapid Recharge. Do you delay it that much? Why? CDR on flog and jump is great. Is usually my excuse to not buy Superior stamina (which I was also delaying/avoiding recently). Great job with these videos, good insights and ideas for new items.
if that's what ur looking for rush mystic reverb, i think chasm has like a perfect build for what ur looking for, can add boundless then superior stam or rapid recharge wtv u prefer to the build.
I don't go superior stam MOST games anymore, and rapid recharge is very low on priority list. With this Lash build, you're so tanky you don't actually need as much mobility as with previous Lash builds, so I prioritize tank/damage items :) I was a quicksilver reload doubter myself, but the damage it gives on flog is really nice.
I just gave the build a try and just had a really hard time keeping up with anyone. If i tried to rely on my gun, I just got slept, or combo'd by bebop, and the flog without any extra spirit items was BARELY moving hp bars and not doing anything to heal me. Cooldowns were so long I got annihilated because their team was basically always 4-6, and if there was a straggler they were so deep I couldn't gank, or basically at base. It was really hard to keep up once I got behind because the gun was like trying to tickle people to death with huge spirit bombs in bebop and yamato. going into a fight, using everything, and having people at 3/4 or half hp while every ability is now on like, 15 seconds of nothing but left clicking with no lifesteal was ROUGH
Yep i have like 50h on lash and would much rather go spirit burst items. It's fun to kill someone without them having time to react, then late game I go cooldown reductions and divine kevlar since lash semi falls off. The flog is also crazy with the 9k spirit dmg booster which i buy mid game after some 3k items
Do you recommend superior cooldown for more flogs? Or bounless spirit for more power? Ive been going for those but maybe reach is better. Or having an extra slot for leech or spiritual overflow. Any tips appreciated!
Ah man this build looks fun, not sure I'd have the aim for the more gun heavy side of it. Tend to go more heavily into spirit/Ground Strike side(that knock up after the second upgrade is what I find key, amazing for catches) Will give it a shot though, as I tend to rely too much on Regen items early on to sustain in lane when I have the tools right there with Flog I should be utilizing more, and buying into damage.
Those are unsecured souls - basically, when you kill jungle creeps, you get unsecured souls. If you die, they drop on the ground. You don't need to cash them in - if you spend then you can no longer drop them on death. They also get secured at the rate of a few souls per second automatically. Hope this helps!
@Deathy so you want to buy an item at a store to make your bag go away? What's the game purpose of this thing, to be a soul bonus of you kill a guy carrying it? Either way, thanks for the response, didn't have a clue what it was.
Is it good to just land 1 and then ult the enemies while they’re knocked up? Or ult and then flog them for the slow then ult? I see a lot of people saying you should be ulting right above enemies cuz it’s easier to hit, but I don’t see how that’s better than knocking them up/slowing them.
Any reason you don't take Spirit Lifesteal over healing booster? Is it just for the 15% antiheal reduction? Because Flog heals roughly the same with both from my testing but you can also heal off your slam and ult.
"Creep wave is like your personal finances" gotta be up there for the most "married adult with stable job" things I've ever heard someone say, I can't believe I ever thought you were a college student
6:22 when it's pre-10 minutes, don't all 4 of you in lane get all the souls in lane? Genuine question. That is how I've been playing and now I'm wondering if I'm wrong.
If this is brawling lash then I'd call the other type skirmishing lash. I've been having pretty good games as skirmishing lash recently - get in, do big damage, get out, then repeat or run. But obviously the players I play with/against aren't high MMR players, and they don't build the obvious counters that could easily shut that down.
I think a mistake I have been making on Lash was not grabbing enough gun items or something like Toxic Bullets. Spirit doesn’t scale super well on Lash considering his main burst is his slam. When I shift my soul spend a bit more to gun it helps me feel like I can peel enemies down before or after I burst instead of just living by my CDs.
Do people play these games with low mouse sensitivity? I always have a much more jittery aim and I use my wrist. But I don’t want to become a teenager with god like aim using my whole arm, my arm can’t handle it.
Rapid Recharge at the bottom of the Late game Purchases? A third charge of your grapple as well as lower use cooldowns on your stomp and grapple recharges is simply vital for a character of such high movement potential. I'd take it over warpstone any day on this character. Superior Stamina is needed too, lets you get free height with corner boosting even above lane ziplines. I will commend the use of Headshot booster, that and Crippling headshot are making a huge comeback in this high bullet resist meta.
This guy kinda sucks. His first gank he accidentally uses slam on the bridge and then misses ult on warden. I get misplaying from time to time, but the fact that he doesn’t even address it is so cringe to me. You can say “in this gank I did this wrong, don’t do what I did there I fumbled that.” This entire game he played pretty poorly, idk why he didn’t just use another game as an example.
i think majestic leap is better in pubs when your team is near guarenteed to neglect lanes and/or get into fights on a whim. majestic leap can allow you to be everywhere; whether managing your lanes while your team goes off on their own - or getting you into a fight in the lane over to save your team. that’s my take Coach Deathy 🫡
