yeah, played a support dynamo day the other day and got 70k healing done. pulling people that want to go back to base with beam and healing them up to keep pushing is insane
Dedicated support roles is the future of deadlock, having a character that can outheal the damage dealer wasnt a big thing early in development , now it will be , case and point , support macginnis
@@Doflaminguard yes, i think the patches that came over the months allowed this healing build. Before it wasnt possible, there was too much damage, too much bullet resist reduction , too little healing items
deadlock so far seems to avoiding a FIXED ROLE which i like it lets you be flexible without feeling weak especially since a lot of moba games makes support role weak but annoying to fight against in here they aren't weak just like in dota they can outright bully anyone if you don't respect them
Played some games with this build, some minor changes, felt really good, saved some mates, cut off some enemies with wall, won all 4 games. But stats at the end were horribly low. Like 8-10k for dmg and only 6-8 k healing 💀used healing and items regularly.... so i have no clue what i did wrong lol...
I think one of my favorite things about deadlock is how skillful supporting can be, and how much higher the skill floor is to be a successful support. Most games make the skill floor of supports incredibly low and it just limits the amount of skill expression for those roles.
That's why i loved support in OW (when the game was good), playing as Ana or Lucio had such a extremely high skill ceiling that you always get challenged to play better
I am far from a high level player but I put together a McGinnis heal build that focuses on stacking spirit for the heal size and enemy debuffs with the benefit of late game ult damage. I get basically no CD between heals and 55hp/s plus the 6%max HP with good late game damage to boot. This was good to watch what a high level version looks like
This made me try this support build tweaked to my own liking and playstyle which is more into the direction of casual. I like it. Even so, it doesn't beat the slav- turret build doing all the work for me. The support build has its charm though! 😊
This playstyle actually reminds me of heroes of the storm where you had the siege heroes that were focused on taking down towers and stuff. Interesting
I know on stream you mentioned that you were unsure if the information was too obvious because it seemed obvious to you, but as a total noob, this was great content. My only request would be a build link to help translate what you are showing us in game to something we can use while playing. I find it really helpful to have a build in game, even if it is just a browser link to look at on my second monitor, when playing.
Yea, so far a lot of people im going against or plays with hardly buys things that counters enemy playstyle or item build, ethereal shift, knockdowns, antiheals or the so and so, often people just greed into just more damage or mobility. Like debuff remover slows down bebop bomb scaling and immediately nullify pocket ult all the time, as well as able to prevent knockdown or 7's stun
The main take away from this build for solo que, is the insane amount of sustain you can build if you are behind, mystic reach into healing nova is way cheaper then enduring sprint into fleetfoot. Good archetype to keep in mind
Weren't people calling McGinnis bottom tier like 2 weeks and 0 meaningful changes ago? 😂 Really shows how early we are in Deadlock. The itemization you get flamed for buying today could be 'hard meta' by Wednesday, and trash again by next Saturday.
The more I play, the more I’m convinced that rescue beam is a broken item. Teammate making a stupid engage? Yoink. Teammate lifted by wraith? Yoink. Teammate asleep? Yoink. Seven ulted in a weird spot? Yoink. Teammate is really low? Surprise hp percentage heal! Teammate running away from enemies but they are getting slowed? Yoink. There’s no way valve won’t nerf the healing aspect eventually (I imagine they might change it to percentage missing hp, which makes more sense as it’s meant to be a “rescue” tool”).
As good as it looks, I do not recommend trying this in soloQ before you reach the higher mmr brackets lmao. Splitpushing like an idiot works much better with a team consisting of 3 monkeys and 2 guys afk jungling. Plus people gonna ignore the healzone anyways but I won't blame them, the visual effect is not as good as dynamo's healing spell.
Yes! I’ve been wanting to learn this build and hoping you’d make a video on it since there’s only limited info rn Edit: a note, if you can make the minimap display for the team we’re watching in a pov that would be great. I can’t seem to adjust to it being upside down to our perspective and am constantly confused lmao
Let's be real, the numbers on the heal were always busted. Most people just slept on it because muh McGunnis or muh turrets. The second it got AoE scaling it should've been obvious. I say that, but I also did not abuse it. Because playing support is boring. Except in Deadlock that's not even true.
I think it was kinda known after the aoe buff but as you said it’s really boring and really no reason to do it in public’s unless you 6 man tryharding :P
i played in a solo match with that support mcginnis and i have to say, its super fun but teammates but not understand youre doing a support build if you dont tell to stay in the heal range. i made 76k healing in that match
It's because your bad. All actives are pretty broken and heals especially. They are broken because they require skill so they think they need a huge buff to them.
@@Zeroicdota we’ll see about that fella. If enough people complain they will change it and this isn’t Dota. Just because the same people made it doesn’t mean anything. You’re probably right though. But only god knows.
I understand the idea, but I feel neglecting 2 thirds of your kit in favor of healing is not worth it. Even Kelvin would be a better pick for this play style.
That jump and wall combo at 3:51 was so crazy wtf
Deathy is the best for Deadlock content right now I swear
yeah this vid was so good
I think an important way to look at this is that through doing 48k healing Quig was able to negate two players worth of damage.

When Yamato kill mcginnis after the walker, would it be more souls to just deny the walker orbs? Seemed like a pretty big misplay to chase instead
